Iplehouse EID Woman Luna

Sep 18, 2009

    1. Wow! That photo of Luna in the red wig/plaid is something else! I'm definitely glad I picked her up even more now that I know she can pull off a pretty good range of outfits besides her default!

    2. Thanks for the layaway tip!! I am ordering her now :) yayayayaya

    3. She looks gorgeous in those regular clothes! The resin looks amazing as well and it's pretty much cementing my decision.

Luna is going to break my bank but since no body has shown up in Splits, I'd rather have my bank broken than not have her ^^;.

Also, thank you to all who mentioned the mobility joint. I was curious about that as well but I think I'll go without it. As long as she can sit and pose, I think I'm fine without the extra movements ^^.

      EDIT:
The top picture here http://img.iplehouse.com/co_img006/iplehouse/etc/eid_w_set0902_dt4.jpg just settled it. She's so lovely with the red hair. It just completely wiped away any uncertainties i had about getting her.

    4. Owning both EID and YID I can tell ya that they way the mobility thigh joints are engineered on the two models are TOTALLY different.

The Mobility joint on the regular dolls (cocori, sylvia, etc) are not nearly as well designed as the the ones on their EID dolls. With the YID Dolls you have four little indented nubs that a ball in the thigh is supposed to slip into to allow for different poses, the problem is that it doesn't work. There's no kind of locking to keep the ball thing from popping right back out. However the EID mobility join it almost like a waffle pattern, every movement locks into place making the doll quite stable and flexible.

I would recommend the mobilty joint, it really is worth all the extra posing capabilities, and it's only twenty bucks, you're already blowing 800plus on the doll ;)

I have one EID at home and another on the way, when it comes to EID's I will always order a mobility joint, 'cause it really is worth it.

    5. That photo of her in the red hair and plaid shirt makes me want to paint freckles across her nose.

      Little Rose gray freckles.

    6. What kind of poses does the mobility joint give you that the other one doesn't? I am just curious I am still trying to decide which to order.
      thanks!!

    7. Wow, she's stunning. I really wish I wasn't broooke :( Iplehouse slays me.

...random aside, she looks a little bit like Hayley (sp?) from Paramore with that red hair, lol.

    8. Gah, Iplehouse is killing me. ; ; I adore that resin tone, but I don't want anything to do with the semi-translucency. :(
I keep coming back to look at luna though, I may be in serious trouble when it's possible to order her in ws.

    9. Yeah, Luna is really nice looking.

    10. Well, with my EID guy that extra joint makes it much easier to cross legs (despite his not so impressive 'downstairs' package ), he can pull his legs up closer to his chest and tends to pose more naturally overall.

I personally love the mobility joint, I know a lot of folks don't like them 'cause they 'look ugly' but honestly iplehouse does such a lovely job designing these dolls you don't even notice it really. I'd recommend checking out the pictures they have on their site of the EID man body and look at the mobility thigh one, it's really not very noticeable.

      However that's just me ;)

    11. Soooo... after hunting through the gallery for all the Jessica pics I could find, I opted for the mobility joint. The poses with the mobility joint seem more natural, and she still seems stable enough to stand well. Having a visible joint isn't an important factor for me, especially since this character will spend most of her time clothed in long skirts.

So I officially ordered Luna on layaway today, blank with no extras. I got the medium bust and the mobility joint. :dance I'm SO happy, even though I won't even have her paid off for a couple of months.

    12. Yep, I've decided on medium bust and mobility joint too. But now I am wondering if I should wait for a Limited Release of Luna in Rose gray resin. I'm hoping I'll see photos/teasers of Soom's tiny and Latidoll's specials before Luna's order closes.

    13. jwsmith- I, too, was confused about mobility vs. no mobility way back when the JID's first came out because of the problems they were having with the YID's mobility joints. Here is a Q&A from me to Iplehouse re: Mobility joints on JID's which pretty much made me decide for mobility for all my dolls from that point on:

      >Hi Iplehouse-
      >I am wondering if you recommend ordering the mobility thigh joint for my first Iplehouse doll? I would like to purchase your Perirot "Tania" and basic YID "Tania".
      >Is it difficult to handle with the mobility joint?
      >I would like to be able to pose Perriot "Tania" like the photo you have her posed in on your website. Does the Periot Tania on you website have the mobility type joint or not? Please help me make a decision, as I would like to order soon

      Hi, ~~

We kindly recommend you of the mobility thigh joint.
In case of JID, it is not difficult to manage thigh joints.
Rather, joints can be much helpful to take various poses.

For Pierrot Tania, the mobility type joint can fit well.
By this reason, we could take poses naturally like that.

Customers' responses which ever managed the mobility type joint directly are very good.

      Thank you very much. ^^
      Have a nice day.~~

      ------------------------------------
OF course, this may not be of much help to those trying to make a decision for EIDs, though since the above Q&A was referring to JID's.
However, I have yet to be disappointed at my decision to order all my NC JIDs/ EIDS with mobility joints.

Trust me, these EID's are heavy, but by slighting bending the mobility joint just right, I can actually get mine to stand up on their own without use of props-- provided you don't live in an earthquake zone. :shudder You can also get them to sit up at a more upright angle by bending one of their legs at the mobility joint. To sum it up, I've seen many photos of EID's that their owners would not be able to get into the pose that they are in without that joint.

Maybe I'm losing my mind, but I thought IH had posted photos of nude EIDs with mobility joint vs one withOUT mobility joint on their Iple Gallery awhile ago so one could see the different capabilities of mobility joint. Back then, I had no idea where the mobility joint was until I saw that photo in their gallery. It was barely noticeable to me. I wish I could refer you to that photo, but I just can't seem to find it anyplace on their web site now. So, either it was removed or I imagined it :?. (Maybe, if I remember, I'll ask them about that photo later).

Mobility or no mobility joint? It just depends on what extent of poseability you want for your EID gal/guy(?). In my opinion, obviously, I think NO mobility joint is somewhat limiting compared to the mobility joint. However, I do agree a "smooth" leg looks great on the EID gals in their outfits that show a lot of skin. And let's face it, Luna's leather outfit shows A LOT of skin especially without her leather pants on.:wiggle

Well, I hope you get what you want for your EID doll. These dolls aren't cheap so you want to be happy with what you decide on. Good luck!

    14. My Luo who doesn't have the mobility joint stands equaly as well on carpeting or grass as my Evan.

    15. So here I am again! I'm glad I saw an answer to one of my questions
about being able to purchase extra thighs, but over $100?
Not sure that's possible for me. But if it is, can someone please
tell me how I request/order extra thighs for Luna?
Do I simply put a request in my order comments and they add the
cost to my order or some other way? Help*_*

Also, can someone direct me to the links that show the
mobility joint on EID women? I must not be looking right...

edit...my main reasons for being uncertain about the joint
is how it looks, and because of her resin I'm concerned that
having a two piece thigh might make and color changes look
worse or more obvious. Also, I don't "pose" my dolls, I want
to and always hope to do photo shoots with interesting posing
but haven't yet. That said I don't want to limit her abilities
      in case I decide to....:doh

    16. My best guess would be to ask for the additional thigh parts in your order form, and request an invoice sent to your Paypal email. I know that's how some other companies have handled special requests like that.

As for the mobility joint links... I'm not sure if it's on the Iple site? I would swear I'd seen a comparison thread in the Iple Gallery section when Jessica was released, but it's not there now. :sweat

I just ran a search here on DoA using the search function, under Advanced Search. I looked for threads that had "Jessica" in the thread title, and specified to look only in the Gallery! subforum. When I checked out the gallery threads, I looked closely for the little telltale line around the upper thigh to figure out whether the EID Jessica in the photo had the mobility or the regular joint. It took a bit of digging, but it helped me decide. :)

    17. I think you should ask in the Q&A if you can do so and their cost and how you would go about adding them to your Luna order.

Let me know too what they say! :)

    18. OK, I just sent the question to them. Only 8 posts before mine
so hopefully I'll get a clear answer BEFORE her sale closes...
otherwise I'll order her (on layaway) and hope I can add the
      parts afterwards!! Such decisions lol.

Thanks for your help & advice!!

    19. Still trying to place that order for Luna--feel like pulling my hair out! I just sent an email to the webmaster, and hopefully they can fix this issue. I've tried doing the order in Safari, Explorer, and Firefox---just to make sure it wasn't a browser issue.

      I'll keep trying tonight-----ahhhhh!

Was anyone able to place an order today 10/16?

    20. What problems are you having?? Is it not allowing you to put her
in your cart or is it not allowing you to finish ordering??
Sorry, hope it gets fixed! I'm curious because I'm waiting to
order her too...she's in my cart waiting so now I'm worried.
      On Safari here also.
