gah, reading about everybody placing their orders makes me want to place mine now too, but I want to wait a bit and save up some more so I can pay my guy in full. Layaways were never really my thing, I get way too impatient for them lol. Just hoping I'll be able to order him before the very end of the ordering period!

 

Oh... I don't know that they do - guess I just assumed 'cause DDE pays for FL dolls up front and you pay them off a little at a time. Sometimes they tell you the doll has arrived before the layaway is up. This is a whole different scenario though, I'd guess you are right and they don't start 'till the doll is paid for in full. Darn

 

Oh darn, well hopefully they'll be quick about getting them ready! I guess it makes more sense that they'd wait until the doll was completely paid off, lest the buyer back out and leave them with a half finished doll

 

Coming out of lurkdom to say I have also placed an order for dishy Claude. I wasn't actually lurking, I was merely trying to read the entire thread before putting in my two cents worth. I must say, it was very difficult reading. I kept having to wipe drool off my keyboard!

I ordered my gorgeous knight without the knightly accoutrements. I love the costume, but the armor would look silly next to my other dolls. It was also too darned expensive. The modern outfits Iple is showing, however, are very much my cuppa tea.

Claude will be my first SID from Iplehouse. So far I have been collecting BIDs and JIDs. Wait until they catch an eyeful of big brother! Eye candy to the max!

 

Random question: anyone know what wig size he wear?

 

I think he should wears 8-9 wigs, since his head measurement is 8.4 inches

When I'm done with my ED GO and seperate all the eye money from my paypal account, I'm gonna finish paying him off. I was only waiting 'till they finished but if they don't make the dolls 'till fully paid off, which makes sense ... there's no need to hold the $. This way I'll get to bring him home sooner !!!

......but pretty much every company starts making the doll after the first payment. and Iplehouse said that if you don't pay in time they will cancel your order and refund you but keep 20%
when they said that my first thought was : that 20% is for the material (part of it at least).
if not, why would they keep a part of the money???

 

I think more than a few companies don't start making the doll after the first payment. Infinitidoll doesn't start until the second payment.

 

but second payment is still not final payment (unless this company offers really small layaway)
aaaaaanyway, I'm the kind of person who likes to pay as quickly as possible (I feel so free once I don't have to worry about keeping enough money for my doll anymore and can concentrate on personnal & important expenses) so if I do order him he should be paid in full within a month

 

If memory serves Iple starts making layaway dolls after the second payment. I think keeping the 20% is a penalty.

I'm in the "I really hope somewhere down the road IH changes its mind and puts the EG's at least on CDS" camp. I'd buy him next year. I have a little bit I could maybe break by 2011 doll moratorium with and put towards one doll, but there are some other limited-time temptations out there. And we haven't even hit the holiday event madness.

 

I was messing with my Transform-Claude's-Hair file and completely by accident conjured up this beautiful shade of blonde. Now I sort of wish that he was blonde :<

 

oh my, that shade of blond is pretty much exactly what I want for my guy! Great so see it should look good with the real skin!

 

well, I paid for half up front - I'm gonna hold the next payment 'till I find out some more info on the new FL girl. I'm hoping half is enough to warrant them starting on my order, if not, I'll make another (smaller) payment so they've got two. But I need enough to put his on layaway too.

 

Man, I hope the wig that this boy comes with fits him well. All the SDs I'm keeping have small heads that are foiling most of my efforts to find them a wig that fits as snug as I like them. They're too small for the 8/9 wigs I come up with, and too big for the 7/8 wigs. D: I would like a dolly that is not a pain in the rear to wig shop for, otherwise I really will need to start making my own wigs. When you guys' boys come, show how well wigs fit please? D:

 

FFFFUUUUUU- That is just the colour I had in mind for that guy, I wish he came with that wig now xD

 

there are very high chances I will order him (unless I chicken out at the last minute like I so often do) when Iplehouse staff come back from their holiday. but I don't know in what skin tone to get him D8 I really have a thing for tan dolls, and I think real skin would suit him better. but on the other hand, I think I would have more ideas for him if he was in normal skin....

I had that problem too. I really prefer real skin from Iplehouse, but I would really be unhappy if this doll was too dark for the character. I am just sticking with the normal skin for now. Just go for the one you would really prefer to have, otherwise you might have trouble liking him later down the road.

Fufufufu... I finally got the time to clear out a bunch of stuff for a fund-raising garage sale, and now I have more choices for places I can put my dolly's bed! Granted, there is probably going to be another book case going in that spot, but in the end, even that will clear up more room. I have two pairs of these old bunk beds that dolls up to 70cm can lay in, but I'm going to have four SDs total in a few months here, and the beds are so big! If my Jonah doesn't end up being too big, he might have to share with someone to save space. Probably someone skinny. D:
