It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Iplehouse Elemental Guardian- Knight of Water Claude SID

Jul 27, 2011

    1. Oh, that is good. :D Claude is very nommy. :aheartbea I'm afraid of when he comes, that I will have far too many nommy dolls, and it might make my heart explode. D:

    2. So Claude is photographed with 12mm eyes, right? I'm annoyed, Iple barely has a selection of 12mm eyes. D: I really like these but the smallest available size is 14mm. Would that be too big for him, you think? As much as possible, I'd just like to order everything from Iple.

Also, this is Claude's wig style, right? The one he's photographed wearing? What color is it? It looks too light to be Saddlebrown, but too dark to be Goldenrod. Or maybe it's just the lighting? Either way, I added it to mah cart. I'm thinking of getting a black wig for him, but I just can't imagine him with a different style other than the one he's sporting in the pictures! Must be from all the time I spent ogling. I'm thinking of getting the same wig in black instead. Would that be such a waste? :doh *browses links left by other people*

    3. I know in the options for buying Claude, (under clothing/armor etc.) you can select to "add wig only" - that way you can be 100% sure you get the right one. IMO 14mm would be too big. But I like my characters to look more realistic/mature. Too big eyes make dolls look immature/younger to me. sorry but again, that's my opinion.

    4. delgadina - I'm not positive, but I was suspecting that this wig is the one shown on Claude rather than the other - his doesn't seem to have so much curl. Also, looking at these sample images, the actual Goldenrod looks darker than it does in the colour chart, much more like the images of Claude.

    5. @Ban Sidhe: Yeah, I feel the same way. I just really like the color. I'd love for mine to have bright blue eyes, I think it'd provide a nice contrast to the real skin. :D But the size! :...(

@Malaryush: That's the other wig I was contemplating! I'm getting the wig with the full set, and I wanted either that or the other one I linked in black, but they look quite similar and it feels like a waste. *_* I don't know, maybe that's just me!

    6. Haha, I know what you mean. I tend to find myself gravitating toward really similar styles, then thinking it seems silly to have so many wigs in the same style. ^^; On the other hand, if you really like the style, having totally different colours still gives you enough opportunity to create pretty different looks.

    7. @Malaryush I think you're right. It'd probably be more of a waste to get a different style that I don't like as much just for the sake of having a different style. *adds scruffy black wig to cart*

    8. Gah, now I'm tempted to try other wigs. D: Wigs are like eyes, it is hard to stop at just one.

    9. :whee:I finally have enough to make a down payment on layaway! But... maybe I should just wait a little longer and pay him off right away. I am torn! If they don't make your dolly until you finish layaway, then maybe it's just better to wait for it all. D:

    10. actually, the first girl was right ... he's wearing the wig in this promo shot: http://www.iplehouse.net/shop/step1.php?number=2445 and the link to the wig is at the bottom of the page.

Pandy - I understand your dilemma. In the end I felt better putting the money towards his layaway 'cause I thought it would motivate me to keep putting money in for him (not necessarily in three installments) and sure enough, when I got the rest, I just paid him off. Then again, it's your money, you should gain the interest as it sits in your bank not theirs ...

    11. Yeah, I think maybe I will wait a little longer. I am getting very antsy, but I need to wait a bit, because it will feel better to not stretch myself too thin right now. D:

What other clothes have you guys bought for your incoming boys, or are you going to be buying them direct from Iple? It is rare that my dollies wear only one outfit, but I think Jonah might be wearing his default for a while.

    12. I have no clothes for my guy, just the boots I'm getting from Iple. His char. wears jeans and Tees so I'll be making his clothing ... unfortunately, I have to wait for him to show up first 'cause I make my own patterns. (I've never been very good at following other people's directions ;) )

    13. You know, waiting for my tax return is grueling! I hope I can get it before the end of the order period!! Still on the fence about the armour though, my guys are gonna be steampunk-y but everyone seems to try and convince me to get the whole armour >.<

      What's your thought guys?

    14. I'm getting the entire doll, including armor. I'd been looking for a long time to find nice metal parts to make a suit of armor for an EID, so I can't pass this chance up. He is perfect! :aheartbea

Buy the armor? You can always sell it for more later if you don't like it. :3

    15. I'll be making my guy's clothing -- I am getting his fullset, but I doubt I'd want to keep him in it all the time. I'm pretty nervous about that black shirt. Because of possible staining and losing bits off of it. D: Rinji's usual style of clothing is very similar to his fullset, though maybe a bit more... casual (as in made of more casual fabrics)? The closest thing to what he'd normally wear out of Iple's offerings is this outfit... though the puffy hips on the pants are... interesting, to say the least. :sweat

I already have one SID boy here (Storm, who is also my future!Claude's grandson xD), so I'll be able to make some clothing for him before he gets here. ^^

    16. @Titania Well, I got the armor for a few reasons...

1.) It looks awesome and I just wanted it (amagawed)
2.) I won't be able to get it ever again (at least first-hand).
3.) If, for some reason, I didn't want it anymore, I would be able to resell it easily.

So if you are on the fence, and have the funds, I say go for it. If it will really be a financial issue then I would pass on it.

@Pandy I am probably going to make most of my Claudes clothes, although that Humphrey roll-shirt and Iple's blue jeans have been looking pretty nice recently. However I'll probably stick to the punk-rocker look I originally intended for him. Maybe I should be buying the red plaid pants they have instead haha

    17. I'll be making all my Claude's clothing. His character would only be wearing steel armor for battle, so the need to have armor for him isn't pressing. Since he's going to be an elf, chances are he'd do a lot more scouting and ranger type work. If anything, he'd mostly be wearing clothes proper for appearance in court, or leather armor for scouting. That's what I'm planning on making, anyway - I might re-watch The Lord of the Rings and take cues from the various outfits they put the Elven men in. :3

A bigger issue for me right now is practicing my clay-working skills to mod his ears nicely. I'm not BAD with clay, and I'm definitely not afraid of modding LE pieces (Since I hacked some SOOM legs all to pieces to stick on my EID with zero hesitation) but I am a little nervous about being able to make them symmetrical.

    18. Is anyone not getting the full set? The full set is beyond my budget, but I'm picking up some clothes from Iple anyway. The full set is cute, but I really don't have monies for it. ;___; Plus, I don't really know how often he'd be in it. Hmm.

    19. Yeah I'm getting fullset too. well I'm not getting the blushing on the armour but other than that he's coming home pretty much with everything.

I LOVE his fullset clothing, it is just perfect for his character and let's be honest, within the BJD world clothing like that is near impossible to come by unless you get it with the doll in a fullset or split for it!

I have the same fears as previously expressed though; with all that black I don't want him to stain so I'll probably make him/get him a more casual outfit in the same sort of style but not in dark colours. He won't sit around in that epic fullset but he'll definitely be wearing it for photos :)
His armour will only be worn for certain photoshoots too, after I've gotten it custom blushed by someone on DoA of course :D
