1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Iplehouse Elemental Guardian- Knight of Water Claude SID

Jul 27, 2011

    1. Are you getting Claude, Alice80? I do hope so! I'm still doing my pieces after not being able to afford SDink's one-off Felix...

    2. Oooh... tomorrow I'm putting in my order. It is so close! My gramma asked me to buy her a dryer though, and since I owe her money, I agreed. I'm not sure how this is going to affect my Claude, but it sure is putting a big dent in dolly plans! D: Also, I don't think my boy is getting much of an alternate outfit now. If the default stains, Jonah will be sitting around in boxers! D: I guess that wouldn't be quite so bad though, now that I think about it... >_>

    3. I am, sweetie...I has the funds and now have to make the decision of waiting till the doll is received or just go ahead and order anyway...

      Alicex

    4. I'm thinking about it and no ... it wouldn't be bad at all ;)

    5. Ooh er...I'd go ahead anyway but I'm not a good example! ;)

    6. So... I'm putting in the order as we speak! Doll + faceup + clothes + boots + unblushed armour :) Gonna do some steampunk treatment for his armour myself!

    7. Ooh! That sounds like it'll be pretty cool! I can't wait to see! :D

Muuu... I can do it now but... why am I hesitating? Is it because he is SO WONDERFUL? Or just because he is SO EXPENSIVE? D:

    8. Yay!...Just made my second paymnet on Claude!!...Just $267 to go now! Paid for by selling, yet more, of my Ellowyne Wilde dolls and clothes on Ebay! :)

Oh, the wait is so painful!

      Lolly xXx

    9. Paid the first 500 bucks of my Claude... This boy's the most expensive thing I've ever owned in my life *_*

Here's hoping my painting skill will be good enough... Does anyone know how the shoulderpads and the helmet get attached to his body?

    10. I was getting a little worried about Claude since I've got so many other things coming up right now (insurance premiums due, business trip next month, refinancing my mortgage @_@) but after figuring out my budget, it looks like I'll be able to work Claude in after all! (*knock on wood nothing else comes up*)

I think I'm going to get him nearly full-set - definitely want the armour, the outfit, face-up, and probably the wig. I still just haven't decided on the blushing. I don't have an airbrush and if possible, I'd rather not have to send all his armour bits out right away.

Does anyone have any experience with standard pastel blushing on large areas like that? It seems like it would be a royal pain to try to blush that large a surface area, particularly if I'm trying to get a consistent colour. Painting with acrylics seems like it would be easier, but I'm not sure how good the results would look.

I guess the standard blushing doesn't jump out at me as being something I'm in love with, but I don't know exactly what I would want it to look like and it would be a great deal more convenient to have it come home already blushed. D:

    11. You could try spray paint. If you get good quality stuff (Rustoleum from Home Depot is good), prime it, and wet sand the primer so it is shiny-smooth, you can have AMAZING results: [link] [link] [link].

That's the best alternative I can think of unless you want to shift colors, have rainbow sparkles, or other crazy things. Alsa Corp is great for that sort of thing but I'm pretty sure their paint cans cost more than Iple's armor blushing.

Its been so long since I nerded out over paint. Feels good man... *w*

    12. Ooh, that might be useful. I want my local faceup artist to blush the armor for me, but she recently raised prices, so now I might just send the head for faceup and try to blush the armor myself. I have an airbrush that I've never used before, so I might need a backup, just in case. O_O

I'm sort of glad my doll is not the most expensive thing I've owned. My most expensive things are my degree and my car, although my Claude was half the price of my car! o_o

    13. Ooh, wow, LiviLovelace, those look awesome! I'll definitely have to give that some real consideration. :3 Those all look great.

The Alsa Corp paints are especially impressive. *-* They definitely look like they'd be worth it for the results! I'm not sure I want anything too fancy for Claude's armour, though.

    14. I want to see someone go extra super fancy on the armor. I want to see rainbow color change plate with GIANT EVIL SPIKES EVERYWHERE!! BWA HAHAHAHAHA!!
      It would be awesome! :aheartbea

    15. That would actually be very impressive (and amusing) to see. XD

    16. Prop painting is definitely very cool :3. I would read Volpin's Blog before you decide to paint armor yourself. He has quite a detailed account of how he makes all his stuff.

    17. Oh my, I'm so excited. I'm getting Claude as a first doll! Up until now I've been without funds, but now I have the chance, and he's exactly the kind of sculpt I love. And the armor! I'm going to have to make him a cuirass at the very least.

Still deliberating on mobility joints or not, and painted armor or not... I'll have to decide very soon. Thank you for those links, LiviLovelace!

    18. You're welcome :D. And congrats on your (soon to be) first doll!

    19. Thanks! I'm so glad he came up at the right time, or I would've been heartbroken. I'm still looking around for a wig I like - short, and rust colored, I think - but think I'll stick with whatever eyes I get for awhile.

Wow, I wish I had the workshop that man has. Not that it wouldn't take me a long time to figure out how to do things right.

    20. Hello, everyone!
I've done all my paymant for Claude. And now I' ve been waiting him :D I hope It will take not so long time, because I can't wait!:aheartbea
