If you want a smirky EID guy, GO TELL IPLE ON THEIR Q&A! I think they were surprised at how popular Claude was and I have begged them to bring out a guy close to him in EID. If lots of people ask, they tend to respond.

I'm seeing stuff now that needs to be fixed... Scrutinize him all day, but miss things that are painfully obvious once I take photos and look at them.

 

Omigosh I just finished paying for my Claude!!! So excited I can barely contain myself!! LOL Got his wigs and clothes sorted out, got his eyes too... All my plan are finally coming to fruition

 

So looking forward to seeing more Claudes arrive!
With all the excitement of Soom's NYCC event I've been swept away from planning my Cullen, still need to get his proper eyes!

My NS Claude arrived today. Actually, he arrived yesterday, but the mail came when I was at work... so they took him back to the post office and I had to go get him.

Honestly, now that he's here, I... have mixed feelings. The size difference between my modded EID and Claude is a little more than what I expected since I forgot to account for the size increase my EID gained in getting new legs.
But I also feel like the experience was a little soured for me because when I opened up the box... the actual doll box had apparently gotten wet. BEFORE Iplehouse packed it and sent it, and it'd been wet for a while... the inside of Claude's box was full of black mold, so as soon as I opened it up, I had a bad sneezing/coughing fit and couldn't come back into the room until it'd had some time to air out.

I'm a little bit unhappy. I've set his box out in the shed until I figure out if I should do anything about it, and put Claude away in my EID's box for now... but right now, I'm really not feeling anything for him. :\

Myuuchan That's horrible! I'm also highly allergic to dust and mold & things of that nature & they trigger very bad asthma attacks in me. I'm so sorry that happened to you! Is the doll itself in ok condition at least?

 

He seems to be perfect, it doesn't look like the mold left any marks on him and I took him apart to make sure his stringing wasn't moldy, so that's good at least.
Don't get me wrong, he's fantastic - Gorgeous and the SID body is really amazing in its detail. I'm hoping maybe it's just the initial shock of a faceful of allergens instead of a perfect gorgeous doll being the first thing I got, so I'll try giving him a faceup tomorrow and see what happens, I guess... he's really lovely, but tonight, I'm just really feeling... indifferent.

 

Ugh, that's awful, Myuuchan. All of these mistakes have been bad enough, but that just sounds unhealthy. I'm so sorry your Claude's homecoming involved such a terrible experience.

I really hope you can bond to him soon, after the initial bad impression has had some time to wear off.

 

It must take a while to grow that much mold. Didn't South Korea have some bad flooding a couple of months ago? Iplehouse may have had water in the part of the building where they store boxes.

I would take photos and send them to IH along with a statement of the conditions you observed. If they honestly didn't notice the mold, they need to be made aware of it. There may be more boxes affected. They need to clean up before they have a bigger problem. It's already a health risk.

What a horrible introduction to your doll. I hope you can overlook his box conditions and learn to love Claude. After all, it's not his fault. Personally, I would give him a good bath, especially as he doesn't have a faceup.

Waaah! I agree! You need to let Iplehouse know about it, because that is a gross thing to send to a person. Black mold is so bad to be exposed to, and I heard it can even grow in your lungs. D: I would agree too about the bath, he'll probably feel better too after it. Ick!

With all these problems Iple is having on the shipping end of things, you think it's a new hire, or people just not paying attention?

 

Myuuchan! Sorry that happened! Ugh. I can understand your hesitance with him though, after all that.
The size does seem a lot smaller in hand, though in a line up, he's the perfect split between the YID and EID sizes. He's the perfect miniaturization of a model body EID, but like you, I'm finding I'm still partial to the EID size and heft. There's just more... je ne sais quoi.
Plus, just with the faceup trouble I'm having with my Claude, I'm feeling a little distant from mine as well.
Glad to hear the doll itself wasn't mired in mold! That's some tricky, icky stuff. Hopefully you can enjoy putting a faceup on him (and share pictures)!

You know, people talk about Claude's smirk. I honestly don't see it in Jamie. Maybe the normal skin doesn't show the smirkiness as well as the real skin...?

The smirk depends on the angle of the photo (lighting/shadows), and the faceup. You can exaggerate or dampen the smirk by doing his lips differently.
