Oh no. There are so many pretty sculpts and I want so many of them. I know Iplehouse only release the FID dolls for limited periods. Roughly how far apart are those periods?
Ah, OK. That's helpful. I was a bit worried this was like the one month in a year that they were up for sale and I'd have to either order now or wait for ages.
I love how Nancy is styled, but... I think there are other sculpts I love more, for when I add another girl to the crew. Especially since I've already got my freckled beauty. The dress, though...
Thank you. I had knit Baron two sweaters, and borrowed several outfits from my JIDs for Naomi, as I really don't have much in the way of contemporary clothes for my FIDs. But I love how they looked, so after this trip that may change. Watching the sun go down on a very windy beach....
Okay - I've been looking at Iplehouse's Nancy for a character doll - she has a specific sales period that ends on the 7th listed in her description. Does that mean if I don't order her now, I won't be able to get her ever?
Iplehouse offers their FIDs every other month so she will be available again. However, the outfit and weapons may not be available.
@ResinRapture - Thank you. I actually enjoyed making the contemporary clothes for a change, and plan on releasing all the patterns eventually. My Miho, still in the Fantasy world, has a new friend.....a magic Raven, sculpted by my sister.... I'm thinking that at some point - like next spring - he will reveal himself in his 'human' form. That of Dominic by SJ, who I ordered to be her partner.
Thank you - though the others look like you xan order them whenever. I also am obsessed with Isabel but just because she's pretty not because of a particular character I want to make her look like.
OK, I'm new here... I have a few older resin BJDs including some earlier JIDs but I got sidetracked playing with the vinyl DDs and SmDs (off topic, I know but i"m just saying...) anyway, I recently restrung several of my resin dolls and I remember what drew me to them in the beginning. Anyway, I was looking at the FIDs on IH web site and fell in love with one, Luna, but when I went to order her she's out of stock as was my second choice. Anyway, what's the deal with FIDs. Are they not available all the time? Is Luna likely to come available again? If so, when? Inquiring minds and all that....
Apparently FID's are only for sale every other month. They were available in October so they should be available again in December.
Not sure if the FID schedule is mentioned on the website, but the FIDs have been available every other month for a couple of years now. Gives us a chance to plan and save! And often they bring out a new sculpt in the release month. Not for definite of course, but it seems to have been a girl one round, then the next it has been a guy. If that happens, there is often a limited outfit with the new character that you can only get for that order period then never again. MB Lilac, Miho and her raven are enchantingly majestic! Such beautiful vibrant colours (and the raven already has a look of Dominic in the glint of his eye ).
@MB Lilac I love the raven and I love the story of the transformation. In excited to see how you tell it
@LilyAndRuby - Thanks. The Raven was painted like a magic Raven from a photo story my sister and I did with my kids when they were little. Once he and Miho become better acquainted he'll reveal his name, but obviously he won't transform until Dominic arrives - and I make him an outfit. @skyealloway - Thanks. I figured Miho needed a partner, and being a Sorceress and Queen of the Fairies, she needed someone special. In the meantime, the only dolls I bothered dressing up for Halloween this year were Baron and his love....
My Lawrence is currently playing the role of the soldier in Jim Henson's Storyteller episode 'the Soldier and Death'..... The art piece with all the devils was made way back in the 90's, by my sister and myself, and has been in storage in the basement for decades. I thought it would be interesting to replace the sculpted figure of the soldier with one of my FIDs, since they are the same size, and Lawrence was the best candidate.
I've been going through your blog archives, so wonderful!! You got to work with Jim Henson? So glad you've been able to keep your earlier work!
