Yes, I've been wondering about how long that custom face-up ban will last too - they do seem to be a bit overwhelmed at the moment! I've ordered standard and custom face-ups (the default face-up from another doll) in the past, and they've done a beautiful job, I've been really happy with both. But lately some people have said they've done not such a great job, so I hope it goes back to their usual high standard soon. Especially as I've got an Isabel with a standard face-up on the way. I do hope they bring the custom face-ups back though, as the vampire dolls are apparently only going to be available April and August (I think? it was in one of the Notices on their site) before they are discontinued, and I'm trying to decide on if I want another - but if I did, I'd want a different doll's face-up! I suppose I'll have to wait and see what happens.
Morganatron, I agree. I am sure your Isabel will be gorgeous! Please post photos when she arrives? 3 Iples I have from many years ago are still among my favourites, with beautiful faceups that have stood the test of time. Custom faceups are the best, and help to make our special dolls so unique don't they. I also hope they use skilled artists again, and can bring custom faceups back soon.
The first of my holiday sale dolls from Iple arrived today, a gray FID Elle with custom face up (CREAAJ-Noel B face up). I'm really pleased with how she turned out. Ginia by wizgerg3, on Flickr
Wow, she looks amazing - that face-up looks so good on her, I never thought to look at the CREEA-J face-ups for FID before! But also: how did you get a custom face-up, I thought they weren't allowing that at the moment???
I ordered her in the holiday sale,(before they discontinued the option) but if you look at the makeup options, the custom option is back now, so it must have just been a temporary thing until they caught back up.
Oh really?!?! Well damn, I wasn't going to buy another FID this round, but the vampires only being up for April and August before being discontinued and custom make-up being back is testing that resolve.... HMM. Good news but bad news there!
this might be a dumb question, but when ordering a new doll from Iplehouse, do they give you all the hand options? or are they separate?
@JinCIncy I ended up ordering 2 of the hands, was not prepared for how much extra shipping they'd cause! also accidentally duplicated the order when my credit card wasn't accepted... so hopefully, they see my notice in the F&Q about deleting it...I reeallly don't need to be charged for two dolls.... maybe I should email them about it... Edit: just double-checked the Q@A on shipping, credit card orders automatically cancel themselves if they don't work. thank goodness!
Does anyone know which of the FID female heads have straighter noses in profile (like Doria)?ITEM VIEW : F.I.D-Woman - Doria_F.I.D These are the nose profiles I really love. Im not such a fan of the ski jump style curved noses that some of the heads have, but not all of the pictures show the noses in profile.
Aha @JinCIncy so that’s your girl! I saw her on one of the Iplehouse Facebook groups and commented on how beautiful she was with her subtle faceup. It’s nice to see how different Elles look, she’s one of the faces I like.
BEAUTIFUL!!! (I too, have grabbed makeup from the CREAA line for custom makeup. My FantasyAaliyah has CREAA Chloe "B" type)
Another of my gray Elle.............playing with wigs on her as I wasn't sure about the black one. This is a Leekeworld wig in gray/lavender. Not 100% sure about this one either, but I'll keep playing until I find her "keeper". Finding her Look by wizgerg3, on Flickr
@JinCIncy I like her in this wig too, the flowing shape is beautiful and adds a certain something however to me personally the colours are too soft and don’t seem to frame her face as well as the darker wig did. I do love your Elle and enjoy watching her style develop.
FID Dylan arrived today.............he's gray resin with vampire Claude's face up Heavy Handed by wizgerg3, on Flickr
Finally got Orlando, my vampire Claude finished - Angeltoast did his beautiful face-up and I made his outfit! So pleased to have him finally together - this is a doll I ordered pre-pandemic, waited a year for, finally got shipped, waited almost another year until I felt I could trust the postal system enough to send his head off for a face-up, and then finally, finally got back - and he was worth the wait!
@JinCIncy So cool to see a Dylan from an owner! I was SO close to buying one (love the viking face up), but couldn´t decide in the end. Your picture makes me think again!
Thank you! Mine looks very different from Viking Dylan, but I love his face just the same..............love the heavy lidded eyes. Here is another shot of him full on. I need to take some more photos of him. Callum by wizgerg3, on Flickr
