So I wonder if there will be any new FIDs released this month, or any other events, since it's June? I always look forwards to seeing new dolls!
I ordered a wig and some clothes from Iplehouse for Aine (2nd hand Grace) and after being lost in customs for 10 days they finally arrived! The wig sucks lol, doesn't fit on her head very well, but the clothes look nice. My plan was to style the wig to look like Gloria's from BD2 but we'll see if I can find something that actually fits on her head first.
I got my first Iplehouse doll in the post today. She's a second hand Doria but that meant she came with a wig and eyes. Love the eyes, not too enthused about the wig and I want to change her faceup to look a little less like she's about to criticise my life choices. I love a bold red lip but I'm thinking soften that a bit and maybe make her eyebrows just a little more neutral (since I'm thinking blonde for her real wig) and a little less arched.
So I ended up with a few wigs of different colors on my doll and it looks like the darker ones fit her best - her eyebrows are so dark that blonde, pink, or white just look completely unnatural. Not sure if I want to attempt (or have someone attempt) a new faceup or if I just want to stick with darker wigs for her. Also I chipped her faceup putting in new eyes.
Thank you! She's supposed to be cosplaying Agnes from BD and the wig fits amazingly well for it, haha.
I am really hoping I got my measuring right and the Iplehouse head magnets are 3mm deep. Because Doria needs one and I had to order some but measuring such a teeny tiny space is a nightmare.
Did you get your Doria second hand? If I remember correctly, they come with a spare magnet, it's in the bag with the strings and hooks.
Oh wow, there is as well. They'd just slipped out of the little bag which hadn't been sealed completely. Well that's going to save me some money. Now I've just got to superglue it back in.
@Crissaegrim Glad I could help. I tend to forget it as well. And since I remember somebody who superglued the magnets before checking they were in with the right side (magnetic, not repelling) and couldn't get them out again: Better test first
So guess what happened. I swear to dog I checked 1000 times that I had the magnet the right way but it must have flipped and now I have two repelling magnets
I managed to solve the problem by pulling out the really quite loose headcap magnet, flipping that and resetting it. I've got some superglue debonder coming so I might see if I can get the head magnet I put in out and reset it because it's juuuust a bit not flush and that's bugging the heck out of me. But as annoying as it was it's been a handy learning experience when it comes to using acetone on resin. I've used it on vinyl dolls before (Monster High and the like) but resin was a new one so it was nice to get some experience before I start using it on the actual faceup.
TomB, I love Wyoming, and your Luna looks beautiful there. It looks as if she's near the Jenny Lake area, and her red outfit really pops amoung the cool grays, greens and the warmer gold tones. A very handsome formal tunic for Rex. I love the color.
I see why you would think that but this is further North along US 191 East of West Yellowstone. That is one of my favorite background images for doll photography.
Lucien by Sisen, on FlickrI got my Doria second hand too. I agree she can be somewhat intimidating, but she paints up beautifully. She will always have a touch of attitude though, LOL.
