1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Iplehouse Fashion Doll Discussion - Part 12

Oct 27, 2016

    1. @luluna - Thanks. The hardest part was trying to get them to hold hands.

@oriscany - Thank you. Yes, it does look very 'real', even though it's a Fantasy Gothic Interior, and not a real cathedral.

    2. Martha your photos are always so detailed and beautiful.

I think my other FIDs know Aurora is my favorite.

    9. Feeling heartbroken about my Baron. I was getting tired of photoshopping the issues of his original faceup, so contacted Iplehouse about doing a repaint with the original FID Baron makeup as shown in the promo photos on their website. They wanted my email address so they could contact me after he arrived, but they never did. I had to contact them to make sure he actually arrived. They had said the repaint would take a month, and would contact me, so at the two week point I thought I'd ask how it was going, but just as I was about to do that, I got his shipping notice. Too late!!

Well, he arrived Friday, and to say I'm disappointed is a major understatement! They did an awful job. The beard looks nothing like the one in their promo photos, he has dark shading under one eye, and not the other, and almost no blush on the cheeks. And then there's those awful eyelashes!! Big, long, uneven, star-bursty things. Like, what were they thinking???

What I paid for.....and what they sent me....

I'm going to complain, and try to get them to redo him properly, but I know they'll try the "it's done by hand, so can vary from the promo photo". Sure, I understand it wouldn't be identical, but it should at least RESEMBLE the promo photo.

I've purchased a lot of dolls from Iplehouse over the years, and rarely ever had an issue, but the two times I did they just brushed me off with all kinds of excuses.

I wish I'd never sent him. I should have just kept on Photoshopping out the issues on his face. Unfortunately hindsight is 20/20.

    10. Oh no! I'm so sorry! Don't let them brush you off this time.

    11. Oh no that's awful!!! It's so clear they entirely forgot to finish one eye and those eyelashes really are super long! What a disaster - and so disappointing!!! I've always loved their face-ups in the past, but it's clear it's not worth ordering them anymore. And how disappointing for you when he's an established character and in so many stories of yours! I really hope you can find a way to get him fixed! That's just heartbreaking!

    12. @MB Lilac I can understand your frustration. Maybe you should just demand a refund for the face up and send him to a different face up artist. I heard that often - and experienced it myself - that Iple´s customer service is not that great. They should take an example from SartoriaJ in that department.

    13. As someone that started out with Iple before the EID's even came into existence, it makes me extremely sad where they are now. I am really worried for their future. Iple's customer service used to be the best out there, and they were always consistent with delivery times and beautiful face ups. This is the first year (in a REALLY LONG time) I haven't ordered anything from them, as I'm just afraid of what I would get on the face up front, and I can't do face ups myself, and I don't have a "go to" face up artist anymore either as so many that I used to go to have stopped painting. Makes me very sad, as I still think Iple has some of the most beautiful realistic sculpts out there. I'm so sorry for your disappointing experience @MB Lilac . I hope you get it resolved to your satisfaction.

    14. My first FIDs (4) were all from Iplehouse. Now I only buy nSIDs from Iplehouse. I don’t like the posing, terrible ankles of most of the bodies from this company. I used to buy lots of clothes. And when the shipping became hIgher than any other company, I stopped buying clothes and replacement parts. Their sales are useless with the shipping. This year I was hoping to buy Soo (nSID, SRS, mobility thigh) but just couldn’t handle the expense. I do my own faceups and often “revise” the company ones. I have over 50 SD dolls but only 3 are 100% Iplehouse. So disappointed by the direction the company has gone. They used to be my favorite company.

    15. It's disappointing to hear all of that about Iplehouse, as I haven't yet had an opportunity to get a new one and I love so many of their FID sculpts.

I suppose I should have taken a hint by the fact that I'm now in my second round of my account doesn't exist so I can't log in to it but if I try and create a new account with the same email address then the account miraculously exists.

    16. I am so sorry. They didn't get the facial hair correct either. You might try contacting Lynn_r about doing Baron's faceup. She's awesome, as is Angeltoast.

    17. I wrote them to complain, and I got a response and they said they no longer have the makeup artists who did their promo Faceups, and that they now use freelance artists, and the makeup will not be the same - just "slightly different". If they consider the awful job they did on my Baron as "slightly different" from his promo photo then they are either blind, have unskilled faceup artists, or have zero quality control. Maybe all three. So, it's basically false advertising, and you are paying for some freelance artist's interpretation of the promo faceup. It becomes a total gamble that any doll you order actually looks like the makeup you ordered.
This is so sad. They were so good before.
They said that if I send him back - at my own expense - that they would redo him for free. But who says it would be any better?

    18. Oh @MB Lilac I'm so sorry to hear that. I had heard that they were contracting out the face ups these days...............another reason why I haven't ordered anything from them in the past year. I'd still like to get a Rex, but I don't want to roll the dice on the face ups since I no longer have an artist that I can get into easily to fix it if is a bad roll of the dice. It makes me extremely sad, as they used to be my favorite company. I still love their sculpts the best, overall for the dolls in this size range, although there are several SJ sculpts I like too, but their wait time is running into the 8 month mark and I don't want to wait that long for a doll. Who knows what can change in 8 months. So I've resigned myself to just enjoying what I have (which is still quite a lot). I am very sad about the situation with Iplehouse though.
