Thanks. My patio table works really well as a 'garden terrace', but it was the end of October and the flowers were looking rather poor. Still, they made for a colourful background. They got ripped out a few days later.

I've been doing a whole series of Baron in training....

 

Another exercise for Medieval knights to build up strength and endurance, was to chop wood - in full armour.

 

Wow, definitely not much action here anymore....

@Bobble - Thanks! Yes, they are real. I use candles a lot in my scenes, but they burn down very quickly, so I save all the interesting little stubs. This seems like the perfect time to use them.

Bianca was never in any danger. She was securely kneeling with a stand under her gown for support, and she was far enough back from the flames. The candle she's holding was extended far enough beyond her skirt that there would not be any wax dripping on her skirt. And that candle was always lit last, and blown out first.

 

Ingenious. Your work is such an inspiration!

 

@MB Lilac I've been meaning to tell you that your photos of Rex tempt me so much. Your pictures are stunning. I keep looking at Rex at the Iplehouse website, wondering if I should click that order button. Your incredible blog was what made me go looking for more info on BJDs a few months ago.

@WAKelly - I love my Rex. I loved his sculpt from the minute Iplehouse first released him in their SD size, but I find their larger dolls way too big for me. So, when they finally introduced him in their smaller FID size, I had to order him. Mine has their company makeup.


But the artists who painted mine are long gone, and I don't know how the current ones are at recreating the promo photos they advertise on their website. Maybe someone here has ordered Rex relatively recently?
