Iplehouse SID boy - Lee

I agree Calli, I can't understand why Lee didn't sell better. I just happened to go to the Iplehouse site to look, and I don't go there that often. I saw him and knew I had to have him. Luckily I had the funds. He's totally gorgeous and a total impulse buy on my part. He will be my first Iplehouse doll.

 

My original intention was to get him in normal skin when they released him as a basic, but now I'm really glad I didn't. I fell in love with the sculpt immediately, but when I saw the photo of him earlier in this thread I knew I had to get the limited. I think all of us who jumped on him will be quite lucky and happy we did.

 

I really hope they'll re-release Lee soon. He is so wonderful.

Greetings fellow Lee-Lovers!

I just found this thread, but I've had my Lee for almost four weeks now. Good to see I have at least a little company - like Calli, I just can't understand why Lee is not more heavily represented. I absolutely fell in love with his smile (could be naughty, could be sweet, depends on just who you see in him; but it's always sexy,) his faceup, and everything about him from the promo pictures, and nothing about Lee in person has dimmed any of my enthusiasm for him. He's wonderful...

Couldn't wait to play with posing him when he showed up, flexing him this way and that, seeing what he could do, putting him through his paces. He poses SO much better than the larger Super Hero bodied-EID guy I have - there is no comparison whatsoever. I have many boys in my resin family, and they have accumulated quite a diverse wardrobe, but clothing Lee is still problematic. Has anyone found clothing made for other dolls that fits him well?



Above, my guy is wearing a Soom Mecha Angel sweatshirt/hoodie that works really well for him. The jeans belong to my Luo - and do not fit well - they have to be cinched in quite a bit and even then the legs remain baggy. Amongst all my stuff, mostly made for far skinnier guys, I did find ONE outfit that fits him perfectly - the Unidoll Rio boxing costume:





My friend's Asa apparently thought it looked good on him...

I know the pose below may not look very complicated, but the truth is, not ONE of my other guys can manage to make it look as natural as Lee can. And my guy doesn't even have the mobility joint.



He doesn't have his permanent name or character yet, but that doesn't mean I am enjoying him any less. Thanks for letting me share!

 

Jill- What a handsome and sexy Lee you have! I agree, I think Lee is underated. I've never really liked boy dolls till him.

Hi Jill in WV...Your Lee is gorgeous! What kind of wig is he wearing?
I agree about wondering why he was not more popular. I love mine. And he does pose wonderfully, especially in the sitting positions. And his facial expressions are so versatile....depending on the lighting. He is so fun to photograph.



I did a photo shoot comparing one of my EID's to SID Lee and I totally expected my EID to be outposed...since I was having such a fun time posing Lee ...but...that particular EID, Vyktor (Akando), is very competitive and I have to say rocked the shoot. And to be fair, my Lee (Jules) felt a bit insecure being that his body wasn't blushed and Vyktor's is. Here is one shot to see the comparison of bodies.


I need to organize and size all the photos and post a gallery post. (Note to self...)

 

Thanks, Swazini - I am really enjoying him. It's strange to me that the one thing I like best about his sculpt (his smile) seems to be the thing that kept so many people from ordering him, at least people I know and talk with. So many doll people seem to like only grumpy or sad-looking faces!

The blushing job on your guy is superb. Talk about making a great body even better! I liked his new faceup, too, very much.

Thanks, luluna! Lee is wearing a ForMyDoll custom wig with the unlikely name of "Lemonade" in two blended shades of brown. It's made with really nice, silky fiber. My Luo is on the Super Hero body and no posing-related improvements have been made to him. I'm terrible and have been neglecting my good guardian duties that way! I see you got the acrobat costume, too. I should have, but I was pretty much stretched to the limit just getting the doll. Yours is the first of the outfits I've seen - I doubt it will be easy to find one on the secondary market.

 

Jill: LOL the "Lemonade" wig is gorgeous, and I love the length of it. I wanted something a bit longer for my Lee...so I have my eyes on the hunt.

My EID Vyktor, just has a swagger about him sometimes when he poses that gives him such presenence. I didn't get him into any real challenging poses, but he just stood up like a real trooper and held his arm up when I wanted and didn't fall over and I was thrilled and got some cool shots of him. When it comes to sitting and bending though, the SID body is a dream.

I still have his acrobat tights on him...I really loved the hoddie thingie he also came with. I know of at least one other person who has the outfit...but who knows, one may turn up on the MP.

After seeing swazini's gorgeous Lee all blushed...I really feel bad for my 'naked' Lee. He wants some nipples. LOL.

 

I think I'm pretty much settled on getting Lee, I just have no idea what I'm holding out for, it's not like I don't have the money. I guess I'm just torn at which doll I should bring home first. Or maybe I'm waiting for more money so I can bring them both home at the same time.

Lee is adorable! The first iplehouse doll I like. Though the body could be a little slimmer and less muscular for me.
I can already hear my wallet crying...hehe.

 

Jill, I have to agree . . Lee is one of those dolls that you wonder if he is just amused, or dreaming up something zany to do. Love your photos of him here! He is one amazing poser! Heh . . and that photo you were curious as to whether he was laughing at you for taking so many pics of him!

Sherry: You know it. Most of the time I think he's laughing at me. But it's nice to have that to look at rather than the scowl so many others of mine seem to have on their faces...

Wonderful body review! (Not at all hard to look at those guys, is it?) I should have done one, but I'm too lazy, and my EID guy doesn't pose anywhere near as well as yours! Most times I hardly trust him to stand long enough to tke his picture.


Lee got his startup wardrobe today. Here he is in one outfit - there are also a few more pieces he has yet to try on.





The leather jacket arrived with a button missing (on one front pocket) but I messaged Iplehouse about it and they are sending replacement buttons. Oh, and guess what? Lee can SIT in his jeans, and they even stay fastened!
