Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Iplehouse Tan Soo Ri Limited V2 with bonus 'Gentle' Head

Nov 23, 2007

    1. One more thing I wanted to let you gals know about. They put locking groves in the knees!!!! SQUEEEEEE!!! Oh that totally made my utopia when I heard that 'click'. :celebrate

I'll probably work on him tonight in conjuction with a black skinned doll I'm comissioning. Might as well get some work done since I'll be warming a can of MSC anyway. More pictures to come very soon!

    2. I am starting to get cold feet, and regret ordering without faceup- I cannot stand the sight of shiny resin, and I cannot bond with a blank face, I was so upset when I got Harin, I should have learnt :( Will the shinyness be gone once msc is applied? I just loved tanned Soo Ri 's powdery matte look on Iplehouse site, and the blank texture looks so different- oh MieAga, please post pictures when you have done the faceup so I can see the difference? *freak out* Hehe, I have seen others discuss how they wish they could avoid msc on tanned resin to keep the shine, whilst I freak out by it.

How does one warm up msc? Erm, is it possible to use outside when it is close to freezing point? I bought a mask, but I still do not want to get the fumes into the flat.

    3. Aaaah, say is the muscle type body, or else I'll be very much upset since the model type is what I have and they'd have improved it after I ordered. .___.

    4. All dolls look very different with a faceup and msc applied. once your soo ri has a faceup you should have no trouble bonding. ^^ its always good to establish a good relationship with your faceup artist of choice for that. i use tamara of 1000 Cranes. (but with iplehouse i have always gotten iplehouse faceups)

    5. Ravnsvart - THe MSC will matte just fine. Don't even worry about it. I'll post pictures probably this saturday. I keep going back a forth on using my new spiffy airbrush, or just get it done quickly with pastels. The delima of the century let me tell you

To warm a can of MSC you let it stand (or bob around) in a pan of warm water. As warm as the water will come out of the tap. If you have to warm water, make sure its not steaming hot...I tried that, and the bottom of the can flexed out because the gas inside expanded so fast. It would have been really bad if it had exploded. Hubby wasn't impressed...even when I said 'Oops!' :sweat

jaeninha -...Um sorry your gonna be upset because he's on the Model body. It really doesn't matter if it was muscle or model because both bodies have the same legs and arms anyway. :(

Se-chan - I agree, develope good rapor with your face up artist(s). They'll work harder and be more available for emergancies.

    6. Good luck, MieAga! :eusa_pray: May the Faceup Faeries be with you! I hope to see happy showoff photos on Monday.

I am eager to find out how easy/hard to paint IP's tan resin is. Friends that have tried to paint French tan resin have complained of beastly problems getting things to stick to it. My especially-wizardly friend St.James recommended the Zoukeimura 'powder' sealant they sell at Volks, for French resins... You'll have to let me know if a nice thick UV-cut sealant can be used on dark-dark resin like this, without showing up powdery or crusty or what-have-you.

Jaeninha, I wouldn't worry about the knees.... If they changed one pair of legs, they changed the others! I am intrigued about the new locks. Huzzah for knee locks! Karim's & Ilya's bodies already have some locking in the knee, but it's not very strong; I wonder what they did to it.

AND I wonder where my @$%&*!! shipping notice is! C'mon c'mon c'mon! Where's my bronze godling?!

    7. I'm thinking the exact same thing. I would like to see that email in my inbox soon with that precious tracking number. i would like my exotic harem boys to be here already. iplehouse told me it would this week. >.> i'll be kinda cranky if they're stringing me along. the week is almost over.

    8. Ahh, no no no... must be Zen about this... *deep cleansing breaths*... must be patient... patience... virtue... etcetera... grumblegrumble... calm blue ocean, calm blue ocean....

    9. *ooommmmm* *calm blue ocean* *calm blue ocean* Hey, I'm putting ocean blue eyes into my tan baby! Oooooo!!!! *gets antsy*

      ...well...

      :|
      That certainly didn't last long.
      :XD:

    10. Thank you , MieAga- wow, such a transformation! I love your gentle Soo Ri, even my boyfriend glanced up and noticed him whilst on a Warcraft raid, lol- that IS a compliment ;) Yay, feeling much happier now, if only I figure out how to use msc without having fumes allover.

    11. MeiAga- He's beautiful. He makes me want my tan gentle Soo Ri even more now. *flails* [insert words of frustration mixed with cursing here]

    12. Ravnsvart We spray outside or in the bathroom with the window open and the door closed. We let the sealer dry in the closed off bathroom. We run a fan to move the fumes out as quickly as possible. It still stinks but it's manageable. I've worked with sealers for over a decade now and MSC is hands down the most toxic, nasty crap I've ever had the pleasure of playing with. Be careful!

Se-chan Thanks! Hopefully yours will be on it's way soon! :)

    13. *fwee!!*

MieAga, he looks great! Ooh, wow, he looks just so different, and yet so similar, it's a different boy! And you've made a close approximation of the old faceup's coloring, too. I'ma pick your brain for painting issues... what's hard to work with about the resin? Or was it just the lip glaze you had problems with?

    14. *super late to join the thread* But I must say MieAga, your boy is GORGEOUS! Ah! I can't wait to get mine, either! I have longer to wait than some of you though.... I havn't finished paying for him yet!

    15. the rules for working with tan resin:
You cannot work with MCS and tan resin in humidity. That's the point that drives most everyone batty. Trying to figure out when it's too humid and when it's not...usually can be seen in your first coat of sealer. If it's cloudy, you'll have to wait.

The second is than you have to warm your sealer. The propellant used in arisole cans actually chills the sealer as it sprays. Since MSC gets cloudy at temps below 55ish degrees, it's better to get it as warm as possible (without expanding the can out of shape) so you have a longer period to spray before the MSC comming out is crap.

The third thing to watch out for is how MSC chemically reacts to other chemicles you use. This is the problem I ran into with the glaze. I was a bit messy with it and tried cleaning it off with water and a magic eraser (both of those I had used with no issue till then), and as the water tainted with glaze trickled down his face, everything it touched went cloudy.

So it's a picky process...if I come across anything else, I'll let you know :)

    16. O_O wow, he is very attractive

    17. Crap! That sounds like it's going to be a LOT of work getting a faceup on the boy! :sweat

On the good side: hobby got the Long Awaited Email!!!! :dance :dance :celebrate :dance :dance

My boyo should be in just in time for Valentine's Day!!! WOOT!!!

    18. SooRi arrived last Thursday and is really shaking things up around here. We had a few quiet moments together over the cold wet weekend for a few pix.
