Iplehouse Toyko Story dolls discussion! New SID boy Storm & SID girl Soo

I need to get Tedros!! Can't stop thinking of him anymore!! But I cannot order him before the 26th, so I hope he will still be available. I'm not sure how this order period is working - what if they get too much orders for those Tokyo guys and end this period before the 12th August? *panic*
Storm is so handsome too! He reminds me of Jessica a little - mostly his lips. Oh, I wished I had so much more money - I would get him too and Asa as well...

 

The geta feet on the men are listed as extra as are the heels and geta feet on the girls. I'm pretty sure they'll all come with normal feet as well.

 

Tabi are the socks to wear with the geta (shoes).

i really want tedros! guh. why am i broke? why? ;0; even with the 3 month layaway i can't afford it right now. bummer!

 

I plan on getting Tedros, hope he won't sell out either, I think he looks wonderful in that skin tone. Gosh I am a little bummed they want 10 bucks extra for the beard makeup. I was hoping it was not going to be extra for the beard makeup.

 

Really, only $10? If it's only ten bucks more for that many delicate brushstrokes, then that Beard faceup is a bargain! Their facial hair brushwork is incredible.

... Oh wait, I shouldn't get so carried away while I'm still waiting for pix of the No-Beard faceup. Dang, I'd like to have one head with each faceup, but they don't play that way.

For the free event are they giving out $80 of clothing for the EID man or other random items?

 

I guess I can live with paying 10 bucks more for the beard makeup, I did not know they were going to add both faceup options.
Does the Free Event include if you order the Limited Edition dolls too? Since the Limited clothing is more than 80 bucks.

 

$60 for the no-beard faceup, $70 for the beard & all. I just got reply back from Iples that they do not have a LT Tedros head with the No-Beard faceup, so we will not be getting photographs of that! Those of us who wish to skip the beard will have to extrapolate.

 

Hmmm....I wonder if someone w/photoshop skillz could tan one of the NS no-beard Tedros pics? I do not have such skillz. Sad face.

 

It's not the photoshopping I'm worried about, because I've already got a beardless Tedros at home for reference (Realskin).... I just wanted to see this particular edition faceup without the beard, because the coloring will be different for Brown than Realskin. Iples will of course be using the same colors for both faceups on Mr. Tokyo, but it's hard to envision what he'll look like with nothing but blushing on in place of the facial-hair. Questions like, will they use the same extra-heavy hand with the shading on his jaw & chin that they did with Circus Master? Will his features 'pop' in the same way? etc.

But sometimes you just have to take a leap of faith. By now I have more than enough faith in Iples' paintwork (and am familiar enough with their style) to know that I will like whatever comes home to me.


(Anybody who does not have a beardless Tedros at home for comparison, and wonders what he looks like, there are several recent Gallery postings of Hassan... lemme know if you'd like links... but it is hard to miss him, he has been an attention-whore lately. ^^)

: Hassan #2 has been purchased! My man will not be dressing japonnais, and I don't think he should be allowed to have sharp objects, but I still ordered the sword-kimono-geta-with-everything-on-top fullset. The only thing I skipped was the beard. ^^ If I don't get that lovely kimono now, someday I will be kicking myself, I'm sure.

Wow, wotta shopping-rush. *whew* Now I need a cigarette! I don't even smoke, but I need a cigarette desperately right now.

WoW! JennyNemesis I am soooo jealous. I just love Tedros in the brown resin and the kimono and geta OMG so smexy! I am just so in love with both Tedros and Asa from this collection. Iplehouse has really been putting out alot of gorgeous resin lately. Not too long ago I just received my Circus Master Tedros, Kamau, and Ashanti. I am so broke right now - they are just killing my pocketbook! Going to try and rehome some of my other dolls, so I can hopefully get them both in fullset. Can you just see him dual wielding those swords? OH YEAH!

Yep, St.James knows what a hopeless geek I am for fullsets-- it has to be a seriously lame option for me to leave any dropdown-menu set to "no". ^^ The sword will probably end up with one of the more violence-loving types (i.e. Ilya or Rowan). The kimono, maybe Radu will be able to squeeze his enormous self into it (he does have a bad case of Madame Butterfly Fever). Hassan just needs more tight white tanktops.

I only ordered 1 sword; there's a chance I might get 1 more sword if I'm one of the first 30 orders (re the Tokyo Story event). For the Summer Event, I have no clue what the free random EID clothing items will be, but I confess I'm nervous.... ;;^^ Half of their clothes are utterly terrifying. And I already own most of the good-looking half. Ahh, it's all about the nice gesture, anyway.

There are no cigarettes in the house, so we'll have to settle for beers instead. Boogie down!

I'm just glad that the TokyoStory set is only four dolls. XD As I mentioned on another board about it, I pray only that they wait until next Feb/March if the plan on dumping out a tan Chase, because if that had been Chase instead of Tedros, I would have had to sell parts of my body to get him. XD I have no willpower.

As it is, pretty, but not for me, especially not the girls. XP
