Iplehouse Toyko Story dolls discussion! New SID boy Storm & SID girl Soo

I hear you Karie! They are just coming out with so many must haves so quickly. I really am having problems keeping up. I keep looking at the photos of Tedros and wondering if I should get him with or without beard. My circus master has the beard and it is really so well done. Even my husband thinks he looks cool and he usually is so meh about my dolls. But since they are both the same sculpt, would it be too redundant to have both bearded, even though the skintone will be different?

 

BWAHAHAHA!! I quit some 30 years ago, but I do know that feeling. When I ordered mine the other night I was sitting around having flashbacks, I swear... "Woah, what a rush..."

Fullset powers, activate! Had to do it. There was no question at all. Of course the worst bit is that at some point he'll have to have a like-sized companion and, dabnagit, *I* need clothes too! Le sigh.


Lyssandra: Redundancy can be good! In all seriousness, if you like Tedros with the beard and you're going to get him in tan... get the version you like. That's the whole point of having them, yes?

But I need to wait until the 26th July for my next money. Sometimes it seems time is standing still. I hope it will be end of July soon. And after this the next waitig time ist starting because I need to buy him on layaway.
But I think it's woth waiting for such wonderful men! Oooohhhh Tedros looks so hot with this skin colour . I think the 3 best brown things to make a woman happy are coffee, chocolate and brown skin Tedros!

And if we do, we will make the Korean traditional outfits.
We'd like to make it more beautiful so that makes us take long time.

We haven't got any schedule for EID man for Tokyo story so Tedros came out frist with Asa..

P.S: We made Asa thinking about the character who is famous korean model. ..so looking similar with her. so we will also consider one of Korean actor or model if we make the EID man

Probably when they know the results, I suppose. Might not have 30 yet.

@Lyssandra-- As if there could even be such a thing as "too many" of any kind of Tedros.

 

I was wondering if that might be the case. I am trying to decide between Tedros and Storm and how many swords to order! I guess I could always sell one if I end up with too many!

 

I plan on getting Tedros with a sword too, I just love the way he looks and can't get him outta my head! Hoping to order him next week!!

 

I think you guys might be right. You never have enough of Tedros and he is soooo hot with that beard.I am already swooning and I haven't even ordered him yet. Silly me. I am finding that I just don't like some of mY other dolls so much now that I have some of the gorgeous Iplehouse guys and gals. Do you guys find that to be the case too? When I display them together with the rest of my gang, somehow these big hunks just demand all the attention and the others kinda get lost.

 

I love love love Soo-Tokyo story! I have no plans to buy her since I just paid for my first Iplehouse doll a couple of days ago and I want to design my own look....but I can't help going to the site and wishing I could have her.....I made her pic my Avatar

 

@Nancy, I doubt you would have any trouble re-selling an extra sword... People here on DOA are always looking for a half-decent katana that doesn't look toylike. Carpe diem. ^^

Not me, no! I still love my [many] other brands just as much. But everybody's collection-mix is personal. It's all about what you're into Right Now, at any given time. Right now, you're into hot-and-rugged-with-beard. Run with it!

But it is generally true the giants DO command a lot of attention-- at home or at meetups-- their presence is just so huge! I think it's sheer gravity. Pepole's eyes are always drawn right to them. And Iple sculpts in general do have a certain poise & elegance that also attracts the attention and makes observers go Oooh. In my apartment, if it's not the freaky Soom merman that makes people lean in for a doubletake, they always zero right in on Luo.

 

I totally get where you are coming from...............I revamped my whole group when I got my first EID man (Luo Strongman) home last summer. As it is now, I have very few remaining dolls that aren't Iplehouse, and I don't seem to be too tempted by anything else that comes along.(Well with the exception of Soom's Idealian, which I couldn't pass up, and having coming my way as well ). I think once you get Tedros in hand you will find he's even more beautiful than his photos. I LOVE my Iple men!! I wait with bated breathe for each new addition................

I'm so in love with the rugged looks of Tedros, but I really shouldn't cave in. I have a 60cm doll coming already so I shouldn't get a third BJD so fast (it's only been a month from my first *guilty grin*). Storm looks pretty good too and both Asa and Soo are so beautiful. I'd love to get them all but I know its impossible. I really hope they make YID versions of Tedros and Kamau at some point. The EIDs are sooo huge. I mean if they were people (in 1:3 scale) they'd be like 210cm - that's like basketball major leagues.

 

That's how I feel now too. I still have alot of the SOOM fantasy dolls and will always keep my very first (DOT Shall), but somehow most of the others have really lost their appeal. I think I am really getting into the more realistic sculpts. Luo Strongman is one of the ones I really really want ( grabby hands) so I am hoping they will come out with another special edition of him in a nice dark color. His sculpt is just so manly !! Looks like I will have to get out my sewing machine soon and dust it off to make some stuff for these guys. I didn't realize the size of them and Kamau is sitting around naked on the shelf LOL. It's kinda funny, but just to illustrate the size of these guys. My 8 yr old son will go into my doll room and hold Tedro's hand and tell him that they are going to be friends.

Well, their big knuckly hands are so hold-able. I like to do the same thing your kid does, except I try to only do it with the guys who don't have hand-blushing.

When I hold one of these EIDs on my arm, and catch a glimpse of myself in the mirror, it looks uncannily like I'm holding a large muscular infant with expensive shoes. That big. Even if you are a tall person, they are an armful...

 

In order to qualify for the event I have to wait until I get all of the funds for Tedros and the wait is killing me. I find myself sitting and staring at him lol. I thought I saw somewhere a pic of how the body blushing looks on a RS or LB body, was I wrong?

 

I. AM. BROKE!!! But I really want Tedros's clothes!!! I really do!!!

I could only find the NS example on their "Man Brushing" sales-page.... ^^
But if it helps, here are snapshots of their neutral color nipple-blushing on both Realskin (Tedros) & Brown (Luo).

It comes out very subtle on Brown resin. If you don't specify, you get the neutral. But you can request your blushing on the darker or pinker side, so I'm requesting the 'darker' option this time around.

 

*dances with joy* I like every part of that. A lot of international outfits would be fantastic, too. They do such a fantastic job with their clothing lines that I am very eager to see what they will come out with next.

...still waiting to place my order. This is angstworthy! I'll have a better idea about whether I can do a single payment to qualify for the event or not in a week or so, and eesh, is that ever shaping up to be a painful week.
