1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Iplehouse Toyko Story dolls discussion! New SID boy Storm & SID girl Soo

Jul 7, 2010

    1. I'm trying to squeeze some money together for Tedros....:o
And I'm thinking of getting him in the model body...since I don't have an EID in that form yet...
But, how important is the mobility thighs on the model body? Do I need them?
Anyone want to persuade me either way? ;)

    2. I have 2 guys with the mobility joint and the rest without. Personally, I don't find it worth the extra $20 to me, but I know some like it. I prefer the cleaner leg line. I find I don't use it much on the 2 I have with it, so I wouldn't order it again.

    3. :3nodding: I am a big fan of the mobility joints! They rotate, to allow him to shift his weight or cross his legs. And the joint "breaks" apart, to allow him to pull his leg a little closer to his body while sitting. These guys have such sitting-up issues already, I'd never order an EID without it.

But it interrupts the line of his pretty thighs, so you'd skip it if you're more concerned with having a nice smooth sculpture.

    4. Thanks JinCIncy and Jenny for the imput. Oh the decisions! (but real fun to ponder). ..to mobility joint or not to mobility joint?

I have a SE Akando on the way that actually does not have the joint....so if I can bear to wait till he arrives before ordering... maybe then it will be easier to decide...however, he is not a model body...so I won't know for sure. *_* But the rotate feature is something to really consider...

But it's good to hear opinions from those who have them...so thanks for that!

    5. Yeah, that makes sense. I was thinking of trying to figure it out before I finish my layaway payments & asking about it before I make that last payment; that way I'd still kinda be buying it with the doll.

But yeah, it can't hurt to ask. :)

    6. Ooh, I'm always a fan of the mobility joints! ^_^
I don't have a model body, but I have the superhero body and I do like having the extra joint there for those poses where I need it. It's nice to have the option in my mind.

    7. Thanks for the mobility joint thoughts! I am still contemplating Storm!

    8. I have NC Cherie, and she doesn't have the mobility joints. I think if or when I order Soo, I will be getting her with mobility joints. I really like putting my dolls into weird positions for posing and I think it would help with that. Plus, I saw someone's EID Luna demonstrating what the mobility joint could do, and it was pretty spectacular. It really is simply preference: do you want a beautiful leg or great posing abilities? For me, I think the rest of the Iple dolls I get will have the mobility joint, just in case.

    9. I'm all about the visuals. I think three of my four EIDs have the standard leg (I can't remember if Tase has it or not. Didn't have him long before they all got packed up for the move.). Paku's the only one with, because I had to try it out and see if I would prefer it. Personally, nope. I've never intentionally used it beyond the first "let's see what this thing can do" stuff. For me, it's just kind of annoying to add the spinning leg factor to the fiddly knees and weak ankles when I'm trying to pose them. :sweat

I don't think I've ever seen Iple sell a limited outfit alone, that was released with a doll. But yeah, doesn't hurt to ask. :)
I tried when they released Chase with that really nice suit, but everyone got denied. :sweat

Good luck! I look forward to seeing all the Tedroses! Tedrii! Tedra? *chuckle*

    10. Thanks for more thoughts on the mobility thighs! I keep waffling on it at the moment.

Now I'm wondering if the color of this Tedros is similar to the LT Kamau they just did, (which I have..in the mobility thigh)...

    11. Aernath was talking about suits for EIDs -> there are new suits released today! A grey set for Model EID and a black one for Super Hero!!! Seems to be not limited like the last one!! But still expensive like the limited...

    12. Yeah, those are some kinda sharp lookin suits, awright. <3 Sometimes I wish my boys were suit types! Iplehouse suits are absolutely gorgeous quality. And so perfectly tailored to just the right body.

    13. Yes, I really would like to get them and hope they are not limited and will wait for me to have some more money left one day... I just LOVE men in suits!! I almost got everyone of my resin men a suit, I really could open an office with all those business men around me:D But I still miss one for my EID Super Hero and another one for my incoming Model body Tedros... but most I miss some money :sweat

    14. Oho! new suits? Aernath's new Big-igo is here in his nekked splendor -- *sigh* too bad the money tree is ALSO in its nekked splendor at the moment. (*mumbles how Hijikata was SUPPOSED to be the last one but wasn't...*

    15. Ah yes, those suits are mighty tempting. I was glad to see them. I do so love a classily dressed BJD.

    16. I hope to make one of those suits. They look so good in them.

    17. Oh! I just saw those new suits; they are amazing. I wish I had the money now to get one, but I don't even have enough for Tedros yet:( I am hoping that I will be able to order him before the period is up or I will be a very very sad person.

    18. Well Lee's paid off. (Wiping brow) Now wanting to win the lottey quick so I can get a Tedros before the opdering time end. And yes, those suits!!!

      Sugar Daddies welcome. ;)

    19. I reminded myself what exactly "layaway" means, namely that I don't have to pay for my doll entirely when I place my order, so I'm gonna go for the fullset Tedros like I originally wanted! I'll wait til the 11th to place my order, though, so I can pay as much as possible for that first payment.

    20. Yea, if I'm able to squeeze Tedros into my funding (fingers crossed)...I may have to do layaway. But i JUST paid off Lee and wanted to pay for a fullset Tedros outright...plus this month if you pay in full aren't Iplehouse giving a gift? Or am I remembering that wrong?
