Iplehouse Toyko Story dolls discussion! New SID boy Storm & SID girl Soo

I am really excited to see what you're going to do with him. I am hoping for tons of pictures!

 

I just ordered Soo -- I got her without the mobility joint, small bust, with faceup and wig. I didn't get the kimono and geta. They are beautiful but the order total just about gave me a heart attack once the shipping was added on. So, I took off the clothes because I can make her a pretty kimono and a pair of geta. My heart was still racing when I clicked "submit" but I think I'll live... I'm in love with her but it is sooooo much $$$$ -- why can't I have a normal hobby like scrapbooking or decoupage? I've been obsessed with her since I first saw the photos and decided I'd really regret it if I missed out on her so I took the plunge.

Now, I can't wait till she gets here. She's going to be so fun!!!

Thanks! I'm excited, too! I'm using the cartoon as a reference point, & thinking of what it would mean for him to be a modern waterbender, in terms of his clothes, etc. I think I've found the perfect eyeco eyes for him already, though.

Of course, I ordered the kimono & geta for now, so he won't be nekkid in the meantime. Also, they're really pretty, & Iplehouse makes such lovely doll clothes!

Last night, I searched for "BJD kimono" on both eBay & etsy.com & found several lovely options on each site, so that may be an option, too. I know I'll be checking it out once I'm finally able to get Asa w/that lovely Geisha faceup!

 

Hey, does he need ripply-blue-water eyes? Also check out Soom's "Ripple"! They look so much like underwater, it rocks.

 

Those eyes would be perfect! I bet you could do some pretty neat stamped or printed designs on clothing with the wave motifs, too. *is still wearing her enabler hat*

 

At the last minute, I gave in and ordered a fullset Asa. I couldn't help it - she had haunted me for weeks, and I was afraid I'd regret it terribly if I missed her.

 

Sometimes you have to do so when they haunt you like that. That fullset Asa is a gorgeous doll.

For my guy, I've been thinking of these, to keep w/the blue-grey eye color that Water Tribe folk tend to have (see below).





1) Is anyone else dying to see what Iplehouse does next, in terms of their ongoing series for introducing new dolls (a la Noctarcana Circus)?

2) Tell me I'm not the only one resisting the urge to drop hints in the Q&A regarding what I really would like to get for my "free gift"!!!

I too am curious what their next theme will be. I'm a little sad that it looks like fantasy is winning by a landslide at this point...just because there are so many fantasy themed dolls already. I'm interested to see something new. For Iplehouse, a theme like "dolls of the world" would be really interesting!

I thought about leaving them a 'hint' in Q&A, like "I just wanted to let you know I really like these boots & these jeans", but they've been so lovely to me, I don't want to become a pest or something.

ALSO! IN the Iplehouse Waiting room, RRoss has mentioned that Iple told her they're starting to ship Tedros at the end of August! HOW THE CRAP AM I SUPPOSED TO BE ABLE TO SLEEP NOW!?

Regarding the hopes for future series from them, I put my 2 cents in on the board; there are so many companies already making fantasy dolls & doing it so well, I'd like Iplehouse to continue doing what they do well, which is making these lovely human dolls.

 

I hope they ship my Soo then too, since her other outfit and shoes have arrived! I can't wait to get her, now to find her a different wig to wear as well.

 

I hope they ship soon too - I'm desperate to start taking pictures of Hassan again, but just can't do it until his new shell arrives.

But Yay! I can definitely hold out two more weeks... she says optimistically... Given that I bought/paid for mind about 15 mins after he went up for sale he'd best be one of the first out the door!!!

 

Oh, Hassan Shell #1 is still here. I just can't bring myself to take more pictures & risk getting much more attached to him. ;;^^ Personal hangup.

When Hassan #2 arrives, the old Realskin one will be going to the house of Dannyboy. He will probably be adopted with a terrible pun for a name, and he may be required to wear argyle from time to time, but he will have a zillion fabulous roommates and be in excellent hands. It's all arranged! But before packing him up, yes, I will take pictures of the two Tedrii together.

 

Oh Hassan (the first) is what had me in such a dilema on weather to go with a beard or not. I so loved your photos of him. Will your new Hassan have the beard or not? I can't wait to see them together...Tedrii. I ordered mine on the last day and will take me at least a month to pay him off...so I'm way down on the queue to getting him.

(P.S. I've also been able to acquire a SD17 body! I pick it up today...but I don't have a head for it yet. Bah!)

 

No, Hassan #2 will also be clean-shaven! It's a terrible dilemma, since both Beard & No-Beard faceups are equally fabulous. I wish I could have one of each head, but alas, Iples don't play that. (Yes, I actually asked. ^^ I had to.) I love the beard but I can't commit to it, so I buy him without.

All I hope is that the SE faceup is just as amazing as the LE one... I am rather attached to all this heavy blushing on Circusmaster Tedros. It does wonders to those great bones of his. Such a great photography subject.

(PS. your Tedros will have an SD17 to sit on his lap, too? Excellent! Heads can always come later. Lap-candy planning often goes in stages.)
