Iplehouse Toyko Story dolls discussion! New SID boy Storm & SID girl Soo

I really am loving Storm after all, he is really handsome and can't wait to see more pics of him!

 

Yeah-- I had this hunch that once we got to see Storm outside of that harsh exhibition-lighting, he'd lose that hung-over look and we'd all fall in love with him. I think his mouth and his teeth are fascinating! None of their other mature male faces have that. I look forward to seeing more.

 

Hello Nancy!!! Any news? Have you opened that box yet?? I'm trying to live vicariously through you since my Soo is still "before shipping" so I'd appreciate it if you'd hurry up and tell us what you think of Soo.

I have to do the private opening ceremony too so I totally understand the need to wait for hubby to go to bed. But surely you've opened her now -- please tell us she's gorgeous!!!!

Yes, She is gorgeous! By the time I unwrapped everything and put away all the packaging, I didn't have time to take pictures! Like others, I peeked in the outfit box and said not right now. Little hair ornaments and clips to style the wig were too much to deal with last night. And then I ran out of time this morning and hubby was up and wandering around early!

I will try to get a picture tonight, but she may be wearing a towel!

I don't think the default wig brought out his features either. It was his teeth that made me order him and the fact that he had a very Iple look to his sculpt. But in person, he is so much better than Iple's pictures. He's definitely no boy!

She is very lovely. Soo is really starting to grow on me.

Um, I'm not feeling well though, so please pardon the boring background...


I'm really impressed with the kimonos. They are both lined and feel so heavy and decadent in person.

I also am happy to say that I won't need to join the swap as both of my free gifts are perfect for my Nightingale. ^_^
I got the adorable pink nightie and this fluffy "fur" coat which I had seeded my wishlist with because she is a 1940's nightclub singer and I thought I could work it into her outfits quite well.



p.s.
Has anyone else noticed that this latest batch of wigs seem to be strangely...square in the headcap? I have my Asa in an older Iplehouse wig now and it fits her head much better than the ones she shipped with.

 

Ah Raquel!! Congratulations on your lovely Asa!! What a Nightingale .. What sort of other things are you making for her? She looks rather French inspired in your suit! Beautifully done, and love the way you have placed her in modern dress to her furisode to come out in! She is exquisite! So happy you got her!

Yes, I just couldn't resist getting this Asa. Asa was at the top of my wishlist as it was, but this fullset was too beautiful to pass up. I think Iplehouse really made a wonderful series with Tokyo Story. Hehe, and I just couldn't resist popping the beret on top of the outfit, even if it is black and the suit is brown. ^.^"
I have the feeling that Nightingale will be quite spoiled in the wardrobe department. I've been itching to have an EID woman of my own to sew for. Those curves!

This fullset really needs to be seen in person. It's so, so pretty. To everyone still waiting, you are going to love it. ^_~
The white under kimono is actually fully lined in black and the rose design is picked out in silver, which I wasn't quite expecting but can see now that I look back at the photos.

Congratulations to everyone who has received their dolls already too! I'm really enjoying seeing them all come in.

 

Let's hear it for the girls! Congrats on the gorgeous Asa and the beautiful Soo's! They are visions to behold. Lady R, I wish I had been as smart as you are and "seeded" my wishlist so I wouldn't have to participate in the swap thread! LOL. Christian (my Tedros) does NOT think a lilac wig becomes him.



And in fact, feels like being seen in the lilac wig hurts his "image" as shown below.



Although he has changed his eyes to green since these were taken.

Do all of the Tokyo Tedroses come with the super-low shogun eyebrows? I didn't realize from the sales pix that he'd be quite that angry. And there's extra blushing on there, on his forehead, to make creases.

Ahh, but Christian is beautiful! What a glorious shade of brown! And the coloring in that faceup is perfect.

He's right about lilac, you know. If he had kept that thing on his head any longer, it would have made his penis get smaller. Actually smaller. True story.
