I have been stalking their site everyday to check the status! I think we may get our Soos around the same time too!!

I dunno JennyN . . Mine seems to greatly resemble a straitjacket once I got through lacing all those ties. Could I have possibly done something wrong?

Ah, grasshopper . . your words are wise for all your fury... And sometimes it is good to align with others of the same ilk .. Strength in numbers makes for very bad good. Confused always say! (JennyN already knew all this . )

Hah! See, Christian knows, good girls never make the headlines. There's plenty of time to be good after you're dead.

Sherry, I really don't know HOW all those ties on haori + sword are supposed to interact! I just have a feeling they are. Like, does the tie on the jacket go through the loop on the sword? Or, does it tie to the shorter tail on the sword? etc. etc. But, I did find that if all you do is tie the long + short tails together sash-style so it hangs off one shoulder, it looks basically OK.

Yesterday I had no time to fiddle around with it, and this morning I'm off to help give a BJD presentation to a fashion-doll club... but when I come home maybe I will try to figure it out again. It never fails: on the weekend I receive a new doll, it's always one of those weekends where I have stuff to do on both days.

Ok, the swords... I ran the hakama's tie through the loop, which put it at a good hip-height place and is reasonably solid, and then tied the other straps up and around his opposite shoulder. Another variation on a theme? But as to the ties in the haori, I thought they were just for holding it closed loosely. Not a clue

Yeah! That's just what I did! - Laced the hakama tie through the loop. But during photosession, I did notice it kept pulling the hakama's bow off-center, after I struggled so hard to get that bow neat & straight. So I think we're on the right track, at least. But that's why I thought the haori's ties might be involved; they're also at about hip-height. (I didn't know the haori was supposed to go closed at all. ^^)

I took like 60 pictures yesterday morning though (half in fullset gear, the other half slowly taking fullset gear off) so maybe one of them has got the correct sword-angle. Hassan didn't seem to have much patience with the shogun drag, though he did think it was fun to flap the robe open & show off one leg a la the Showgirls movie-poster. For some reason, this Hassan is saucier than the old one.

 

Oh Sherry!!!!!!!! Your man is gah gah gorgeous. I'm not having good girl thoughts about him...or his sword.

Oh yee GADS, Sherry. Your guy WINS hands down on the sword measuring contest! I don't know or care how he has those things strapped on - he's MAGNIFICIENT. I want to see MORE of that luscious faceup! I love his mouth! (I think I mentioned that before) He has this hint of an arrogant smirk like he knows something that nobody else does or that he has a plan in mind that nobody would possibly have a clue about. Your girl is a heart stopper! The girls will have their share of attention too - they just haven't stepped up quite yet, but when they do..... Your girl is just gorgeous. and who is the guy in the background trying to keep a low profile? Is that Lee? I'm terrible about identifying scults.

luluna - we haven't really heard what Christian's definition of a "good girl" is yet, (or how you fit on that list). I'm of the opinion that any girl that is still breathing would have those kinds of thoughts about Sherry's boy!

Thanks for the link, Baakay. I understand the slow to photograph bit too - usually weekends, when I don't want to do anything productive around the house, are my picture times. Will look forward to seeing more of your boy when you can.

I will have to say though - it's a fine art to master the technique of the "judiciously-applied" part of the antagonism, JennyNemesis. I don't think I ever got that one down well.

Sherry, you Asa and Tedros are stunning and she looks like she's quite satisfied with the length of his sword.

Unfortunately, Iple forgot to include my Storm's sword but that will come when they ship my clothes order that's still before shipping. So here's my Storm sans sword.

Sherry, yeah, your Tedros's lips are the bomb! You made his lips look actually plumper. (And pinker, which I find adorable on a big strong dark man. ^^)

Re sword-strapping and/or waving: Hassan has already escaped from it, but I got a bunch of documentation shots of the full outfit. I just hope the swords look at least 1/4 correct.

Patrice - Storm is wonderful! I agree with JN about getting sold short. Do you have a side profile closeup? I would love to see his nose in profile. For some reason, noses are a deal breaker wth me and this guy looks to have a wonderful nose.

Hassan, Hassan - I'm with you! Forget the hakama when we get little teasing shots like #2 above. I also like the way you hold your sword in pic #3. Clean shaven Tedros is stunning!

You're right about Iple short changing Storm on the promo pics. I took a chance with him because he had such an Iple looking face and am delighted with him in person. His name is Auster, Roman god of the south wind.
