Seriously, though. I doubt I'll be able to afford him, but I desperately want the Tedros so bad. TT_TT He's so perfect for my Dorjan! The fullset isn't really good for him - he's an Ancient Roman General-turn-Vampire living in the Celtic Irish countryside. But everything else about this Tedros is perfect for him!

 

Has anyone asked Iple or does anyone know what skin type Asa and Soo are? Sorry if this has already been answered in this thread. They're skin looks gorgeous, but a little different from the NS and the basic WS I've seen in pictures.

 

This Ashanti from Flickr arrived w/a cloudy white film over her faceup. I believe that Iplehouse has worked out something with the owner to get this reconciled. I haven't heard of this issue on IH's lighter brown resin dolls, though.

Totally! & fact truth: I referred to your photo threads heavily (as I'm sure you've guessed ) when deciding between Akando & Evan.

Right!? I'm w/you & hellsingmongrel on this one. So you don't like a doll that a company released, don't effing buy it!!!

I've seen that kind of "god everything they're making now sucks" kind of attitude a lot on another doll collector msg board I used to frequent. Truly, that was a big part of the reason I stopped frequenting it.

Oh well, Tedros is hot, so if that fool doesn't like him, I'll take the doll they would've ordered if they weren't such an asshat.

 

... Srsly, newsflash: When a doll company makes something you don't like, it's because they're making what they like to make right now. It's not all about you. ^^ And here I was hoping that recent flock of abusive overentitled knucklewalkers you see on DollSoom.com wouldn't find their way onto Iplehouse.net. It used to be so nice & quiet there.

The girls both look like NS to me, with geisha makeup that's paler than their bodies. The whiter face can throw you off. ^^ We will find out when they put up the descriptor text for them, too.

PS @ RROSS, Re MSC over dark resin: Try that Volks Zoukeimura powder spray! I used that on my Tan Limhwa Mano, and there was zero milkiness/cloudiness going on.

 

I think they said Soo was a rose white color.

 

Thanks JennyNemesis and RROSS, I guess we will find out whenever they are released. I was getting impatient and just wanted to know, hehe.

It seems like a lot of people are getting bolder and bolder in making their own self-entitlement issues and opinions known as companies like Iplehouse and Soom continue pumping out new sculpts so often. It sucks that people think they have the right to act like selfish little children, but the simple fact is: the company simply can't please everyone, every time. If you don't like it, go complain about it to a friend(that's what I do ), or on your blog or something. Every time I read one of those comments on the doll pages I always picture that one girl from the Willy Wonka movie,Veruca Salt, the rich one, stamping her feet and shouting "But daddy, I want it now!"

And then she got thrown into a furnace for being a bad egg. Just saying.

Very much agreed. It's sickening to see it being slathered all over Soom's boards, it's downright depressing to see that spreading further. With an entitlement complex that big, it's no wonder they're using the royal we like they're some sort of emissary from who knows where -- that is pretty galling.

Also have to agree with idrisfynn, it was the stylization on Lee that made him not as appealing to me. I didn't care for the strange makeup, and like more realistic sculpts. Asa is Asian, and a more realistic face -- she seems to be incredibly popular for them.

 

Yes! This is what the guy who did the faceup on my Tan Limhwa Luna used & there is no white film to speak of! She puurrrrrdy!!!

Re: Lee & sales... I agree that it was most likely not his Asian-ness that affected his sales. His overall look was kind of "meh" for me--though he is definitely a handsome doll, he just didn't steal my , & that's kind of a rule for me when deciding which doll to buy.

 

I actually wrote them after seeing the comment since I'm one of the people pushing for an asian EID. I told them I certainly don't feel that way, and I hope they don't paint everyone asking for one with the same brush.

Yes, that's what they told me. I decided not to get him, because he's too ethnically ambiguous looking. I have to stare really hard to see the asian part of him. On his bio, it does say he's mixed.

 

OMG I love Tedros, he is such a hottie. I think I will bring him home, but without the clothes, this would be to expensive. I wish I would have enough money to buy Asa in the Full Set too, she ist the loveliest geisha I have ever seen ^^

 

If this sale goes through I will be able to get Tedros but in the meantime, I'm trying to decide which form of the body to get. I have a Kamau on the super hero body so I was thinking about the model body but I'm not sure about it. I tried to do a search but I'm not finding what I'm looking for. Where are the comparison threads on the two bodies? For those who have both types, are there any pros and cons? Will the superhero clothes look sloppy on the model body? I want to make a good decision before ordering.

 

Please, everyone, tell me to stick with tinies. I wnt to sleep last night trying to convince myself that I really don't want a 70cm doll. He'd be way too big. I woke up this morning wanting Asa too

The only "chance" I've got (beside the lack of money) is that my Tedros is at home, and my Asa (LE SID) paid for !

 

Have to totally agree with you on this one..............speak for yourself and leave the rest of us Iple lovers out of it. I'm THRILLED with this gorgeous brown Tedros!! I think I read a response Iple made to someone concerning the asian sculpt, basically saying Lee didn't sell as well as they had hoped, so they that was part of the reason we aren't seeing an asian guy yet. I for one, didn't actually see Lee as an asian sculpt? But I"m confident Iple will make one eventually, if they get enough requests. THat's my favorite thing about Iple (well aside from that fact that they really know how to sculpt gorgeous, realistic looking MEN, not boys playing as men, but men), the fact that they listen to their customers and really try to give us what we want. I have REALLY wanted a brown skin Tedros since the release of the NC RS version................

Good grief Iple did two new sculpts! What more do you want. I'm sure the sales of Tokyo Tedros will tell Iple that they made the right decision.

 

I saw that comment, too, and had to roll my eyes. Iplehouse has been good as far as I know about putting in caveats - the plans they speak of are PLANS, not guarantees - and they're really responsive to their customers. I'm sad that Lee didn't sell, because I really liked him but didn't have any characters for him.

Man, I wish I had a spare chunk of cash lying around - if I had my druthers, I'd bring both that Tedros and Asa home. They could just hang around being pseudo-Edo and awesome in my room. I also have this desire to dress Asa up as a rocker chick - I bet she'd look really cool . . . *sigh*

 

I'd have bought Lee if he didn't have that smile. But now Storm after my initial dislike of his mouth is starting to really grow on me. You don't see open mouthed guys so kudos for Iple for trying that.
