1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Is Box Opening Still Fun?

Nov 17, 2009

    1. I've got maybe 70 dolls. Still fun getting them and opening the boxes. Maybe it's TOO fun, actually! I should just be more content with what I have home already at this point! But the new ones are always exciting to me!!!! *_*

    2. I think it will always be fun! As I age I get more and more excited when I get stuff and open it >_<

    3. Yes indeedy it is!

    4. I don't think it will ever not be exciting opening the box and welcome them home even after 8 years of being in the hobby.

    5. Always!

I can still feel my heart beat super hard when I know my doll is in the mail heading to me... I still get just as excited as I used to when I start cutting the box open.

    6. I think this will always be exciting for me, it's intoxicating to have a new doll - taking the pictures and seeing their precious face for the first time, checking how they pose, dressing them up in a style picked just for them, and then sharing the photos on this forum. Seeing a new face in my doll case gives me a thrill!

    7. Absolutely! Heck, I even get excited opening up boxes of doll clothes an accessories. But there's nothing quite like seeing your new doll for the first time. I like finding out how each company packages their bjd, what the CoAs look like, if they throw in any goodies, ect. The whole experience is so much fun I just never get tired of it- even 30 dolls in!

    8. I don't think I'll ever grow tired of box opening. A new doll can't be beat! That said, I'm not one to do box opening shoots or anything. I like it just being me. Heck, if I could be home alone when they arrived, that would be best. I just want to be ridiculously gushy all alone, I guess...

    9. Heck yeah it is! I love getting stuff in the mail :) New dolls are still that--new dolls! With my last one, who is number eight at this point, I obsessively tracked the package online and had a blast opening it up. Pipos packaging is so cute and detailed <3 So yes, still love it.

    10. Yes! And not only for dolls. Every time a package comes home is a little Christmas! If it is a doll is even greater, because my mom and sis will go to my room to see and participate on it.
After months of waiting and obsessively tracking the package, the way I feel when I'm unwrapping a new resin companion can't compare to anything. I love taking pictures of the moment and they are always blurry cause my hands can't stop shaking xD

    11. I don't think box openings will ever stop being fun. :danceAt least I hope they don.t

    12. They are still awesome...I even get excited over clothes and little props :D

    13. It's still fun getting new dolls. It's fun getting stuff in general. I love opening anything I get in the mail that comes in a box. I get so excited to see whatever it is for the fist time but dolls I will squeal over it's arrival 3 days before it gets here and 3 days after lol.

    14. Yes it's still funny
      except after a long wait (6 - 8 months)
In that case I must confess that I had lost interest
so I need time to fall in love again with the doll

    15. Definitely. I get really impatient waiting for the parcel to be delivered and really excited when opening the package. That said I still get nearly as excited over new clothes for them too. :D

    16. Definitely still exciting!! Well, I'm able to let myself tear through boxes and packaging at a slightly steadier pace than a ravenous beast now, but STILL VERY EXCITING. I actually always find getting packages in the mail to be an exciting thing already even if it's something simple and small, so I doubt the level of excitement over having a really nice fancy doll arriving home will ever really die down, haha.

    17. Yes. Suspense and anticipation of joy is the perfect combination. I love the smell of fresh resin, love the bare face and naked body. There is a special charm in uncreated image, when the doll looks like a blank sheet of paper.

    18. Of course! Shouldn't someone be excited for their new doll? It's so nice to finally see their pretty little faces.

    19. It is for me!! I love seeing them for the first time. It's like saying hello to a new friend. It's lost a little bit of the thrill and outright nervousness that my first opening held, but that doesn't mean it's totally old news.

    20. oh, yeah, I love opening my doll for the first time, as has been said, it is like opening Christmas presents. (I like to see included that are uploaded on youtube and the forum)
