1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Is DOA your place of refuge from the real world?

Aug 16, 2007

    1. Nah. This is just one part of my entire world. :)

    2. This place is like so relaxing. I get stressed really fast (school and these stupid piano lessons) but this is a place to forget it all :) I don't feel like this in other forums. Actually I don't feel well in others. I could be here all day long and still be not bored.

    3. Not that the rest of the world is so bad... but I must say that I do love coming here to look about... a LOT... almost every time I'm on the internet! :)

    4. I don't really need refuge since school, my job, etc haven't been that bad lately but it is a fun thing to do. Especially when I have nothing else to do.. like right now :sweat

    5. ditto.

I love coming here when I have something else I should be doing. :sweat
But a place of refuge, no. I'd much rather talk my friends in person. I like to waste time here, just clicking and looking and reading... and I also look at it as a way to meet new folks with my hobby.

    6. Hmm, for me, sometimes the dolls themselves are the refuge. :) DoA is definitely more of a distraction from the real world! ;)

I love coming here for news and stuffs to buy and to look at pictures! But it's not somewhere I'd come if I were very upset or sad about something.

    7. Doa is more of a distraction from the real world for me. My dolls on the other hand are my real refuge.

    8. well sorta...it's only one of my networking places out of many lol

    9. I do tend to spend more time on the computer surfing DoA and dA than I really should, but I don't really think of it as an escape or a place of refuge... not sure how to explain it but for all the complaining and annoying stuff that happens here I know I can at least hit the little X and make it go away unlike the real world.

    10. DoA is not a refuge for me; it's entertainment and a way to share experiences and information. It's also a fun and safe place to poke around in while at work on breaks and downtime.

    11. In a way, DoA is my refuge, apart from GaiaOnline and deviantART. I haven't been here long, but I'm drawn like a butterfly to candle light when I view all the gorgeously taken photostories. They are just so compelling. Lots of the users here have a lot of potential photographer skills. And lots of them make me laugh.

In other words, when I want to be away from all the tacky art that is occasionally viewed on DA, and don't want the F-word continuously spouted off around every corner at me, DoA is the forum I turn to.

      Or the Sims2 Writer's Hangout. :)

    12. For me DoA is a place of information first of all,as well as some sort of escape from the real world problems.
