1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. if it says it's 'negotiable'....I would haggle..

    2. If you ask the worst thing they could say is no. I've been in a similar situation as you have and I asked and they accepted. You can always try!

    3. I don't see anything wrong with it, we'd all like things cheaper and there is no harm in asking. What's the worst that can happen, the person says no. Fair enough.
I've never haggled for a doll as all my dolls are company bought.

    4. Hm, yes and no... I think it depends on how fair the price is set or being thought of being set

    5. I think haggling is ok, depending on the circumstances. Even if the price is listed as "firm," if it's a really old thread and the doll is still for sale (and especially if it's had no interest bites at all) it can't hurt to ask the seller if they're willing to offer a lower price, though I would never just throw a price out without asking if they're willing first.
But I don't really think you should ever just "throw a price out." The point of haggling is negotiating why you think what you're offering is a fair price for the item. If the item is damaged, but already heavily discounted because of it, then haggling might not get you anywhere and could be considered rude of cheap.

    6. If the original sale says "price non-negotiable" then that's what it means. However if it doesn't say that, or if the post has been up for a few months I think it is okay to haggle. I would never ask someone to take over $40 off probably, even that might be asking too much. You kind of have to gauge the original price of the doll and or damage or whatever else my factor into the price.

    7. If they state the price is firm or non negotiable I would not try to negotiate if they did not I would.
I would not be offended by someone trying to negotiate with me so don't see a problem in doing so with someone else

    8. I've haggled if the price doesn't say "firm". If it says "firm" I respect that, otherwise, I may ask them for a bit of a deal depending on the circumstances. People have done it to me, and it doesn't bother me at all.

    9. I am not especially offended if someone politely asks me for a lower price than the one I have listed for an item, but I sometimes tell them that I prefer to sell for my asking price and that if I don't get my price within a reasonable amount of time (a week, maybe), I will consider their offer. I myself never haggle, but then I am a shy person and tend to avoid conflict.

    10. I have haggled the total price of something before like lowering the price by dollars on the doll so that the total price of the item was a 100 dollars including shipping. I've done things like that, but I don't really unless I see that I've had good relationship with them. Then I might go ahead and haggle with them knowing that we both respect each other.

    11. I have tried trading- clothes for clothes, and things like that. If they say yes great, if they say no it's fine too.

I have been asked to negotiate prices and sometimes I say yes and sometimes no. I guess I figure, it doesn't hurt to ask. The worst they'll say is no. But when I receive a 'no' I don't pursue it. I think that's a no-no. To get aggressive is just rude. But that really hasn't been a problem for me.

    12. If the thread is old and the seller has already marked it down a few times, I'll sometimes ask if they're willing to negotiate. Also, if a seller has two things for sale and I want both, I'll ask them if they can give me a lower combined price. Most people will say yes. I'm not offended if I'm asked to negotiate on my own sales.

    13. I love to haggle and love to be haggled... a good bargain for both parties is win win.

    14. I like to try to haggle, and I've had some fun haggling expeirences. Even if I only save $5, it somehow gives me a lot of gratification.

However, there was one time when someone sent me an email about an item I was selling and it really ticked me off. I'm not sure exactly if they were trying to haggle, or if they were price policing, or what.

Since I haggle, I expect other people to do it too and her comments just did not come off right to me.

I had listed a dollheart complete fullset for what i paid for it.
She sent me a message with something like: "the company link you posted in your sales thread shows a lower price."
To which I replied "then order from them"
      and she didn't reply back.

If she wanted to pay less, she should have just said "will you take $20 less than you listed it for?' and I probably would have said yes.

So I guess my point is: Don't attack the seller's stated price as being incorrect. They can list whatever they have for whatever price they feel like. If you don't want to pay that - make an offer ^_^

    15. I like to Haggle if it involve a lot of money, like purchasing a doll.
I only haggle if it say Negotiable or Best offer.
I think more than often, sellers put up a price higher than what they expect, if you don't haggle, it's kind of a lost.

    16. If it says negotiable then yes, if the doll is damaged then yes....if not then no....

    17. No, I don't think it's a no-no, although I've never really haggled myself to say the truth. So far there has been no need to, really. If the seller says their price are negotiable it doesn't hurt to ask.

    18. I've been always told that "asking doesn't cost anything", so why not writing to this person and kindly ask her? I mean more than saying "no" what could she possibily say? I've asked person about splits where it was specified that they won't consider them and some of the seller just kindly said no, others accepted.
So for me it isn't a no-no at all.
I respect though sellers that write it in capital letters not to be bothered about the price:sweat

    19. I did it once buying a doll off the MP, but I offered what I thought was a reasonable price. In fact I went back and offered again before the seller answered because I had second thoughts and figured my initial offer might be too low:sweat Of course I wouldn't try it if the seller said the price was firm or non-negotiable. When I sell stuff too I don't mind if people haggle with me if I say the price is negotiable. It does bother me though when people get incessant with it after I've already told them my final price, or if they try it after they start making layaway payments on the agreed-upon price. I find that really annoying.

    20. It has never come to my mind yet to try and haggle. It is not that I consider it something bad. It is just that I really never thought of it before I saw this thread. I am simply not talented when it comes to buying, selling, trading etc - I just see a doll, see its price, and then decide if I can pay it or not, and if it is too high, then it is a "no" - and no further thinking.
