1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Is it Wrong to Buy an LE Doll to get LE Outfits?

Aug 20, 2007

    1. Nah, I don't think there's anything wrong with that. It's a matter of personal preference - the doll only, the dress only or the whole set. Someone out there who's interested in the doll only or doesn't mind getting the doll at a lower price without the clothes would be willing to buy from you~

    2. No, but that's what splits are for XD

    3. Well if you really like the outfit (thinking...*) then I must say go for it,
though it will be tedious, to buy the full package LE then sell the doll only and then buy the doll that you want...
It really depends on the person I think

    4. Yeah totally, you can buy, if you can pay for that why not? Is your money, you can sell the doll =)

    5. I don't see anything wrong with buying what you want within the only means of obtaining it. I mean they sell LE because they want people to scramble for it.

    6. I've been considering getting one of the Kid Delf limiteds just for the Alice dress... >___> I don't think it's wrong, you can just sell the doll to someone who will love it :D

    7. I thinks it is not wrong at all to buy a LE doll to get a LE outfit ~ :)

    8. Nope, there seems to always be someone who'll like the doll and not the clothes. It just seems strange to do since you don't want the more expensive part.

    9. It's your money - don't feel bad! The best thing to do would be to join splits and just buy the outfits off them. Easier than getting the money together for the whole thing, and then only keeping clothes.

    10. Personally, I would be more inclined to buy a LE full package if it were the doll I really wanted rather than outfit. I have been collecting OOAK dolls for years and with few exceptions, when it come to resell, the owner sells at a loss. Having said that, I am new to the world of BJDs and the concept of splits here would solve your dilemma.;)

    11. Well it would be a lot easier to go for a split, but sometimes nobody wants to participate. Sometimes it's also better for people to buy the doll from somebody else rather than the company because they like to see the doll outside of company photos first, or they only make the decision to buy the doll after they see that they may not get another chance. So it can actually be a good thing to sell a doll that you got for the clothes. :)

    12. Not at all, you spent the money to buy the whoooole doll therefore even if you didnt want the doll you spent the money to get it. Its nothing to feel bad about. It is a first come first serve basis and youre not buying a bunch of them to scalp later.

    13. I really can't see what is wrong with it. If you have the money, you decide how to use them. Why should it be any different with bjds than other things?

    14. It perfectly fine with me, besides aren't cases when you split body and a head are more "wrong" in that way? ^^ But even in the last case I think it's ok - people have the right to mod all they want (especially when you can't buy something separately >__>)

    15. I agree with pretty much everyone else: It's not wrong to buy the doll for the outfit, but that's definitely what the splits are for! And if you do buy the doll and don't want him/her, you can rehome them to someone who wanted the doll. It's a win-win for everyone! C:

    16. It is nothing wrong with that. Limited clothes are just that limited so it's all right if you like an outfit and want to buy it.:)

    17. sometime i just find some outfit i really like but they dont sell alone but with the doll i am not really fancy... then it comes to me that i can find a friend who like the doll so that we can get what we want, but thats not happening yet~lol

    18. If you are lucky enough to get the LE doll for her real price, after sell back the doll , probably you will get your outfit for free.

But if no, best way, just buy the outfit on yahoo, often people want the doll not the outfit, ^______^
      Chespest way.

    19. Not Wrong, i do the same with some set in Japan or Yahoo Auction !

    20. can't see anything wrong with it ^_^
I did it with my LE LittleMonica Chloe, and did it again with Soom Clozel this month.
and guess what? during the time, the outfit became less important, and my Chloe is really a jewel in my doll family ;-)
