1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

is there any ''specific'' BJD wig that you want but none of the bjd online sells it?

    1. My dolls are my cosplay muses, so I'm constantly in a battle to find just the right wigs for them. I don't want to spend too much because they only wear each costume so many times before it gets old, but I also want as close to the character as exists.

Right now, finding Madoka (Madoka Magica's) hair is what is driving me insane. For a tiny. I found tons of that style for SD. Sigh.

    2. I second (or third or ninth?) the manly man cuts request! More "boy" styles, please!

And more natural red tones, please? And also more blond variations? I've seen "pale blond" and "straw yellow" with nothing in between really.

But mostly more "boy" styled wigs. :)

    3. Oh, dude! I may have to stalk you now for gallery posts. That sounds epic!

That reminds me that one of the wigs I've been casually hunting for is one in 8-9 for a DD Homura I would like to customize. Leekeworld has one that is actually pretty damn close, but you can kind of see the wefts in the promo shots right where the headband would have to go, so I'm a little wishy-washy on that idea. There's also Volks' lovely choco-purple color, but the closest in that would need some serious trimming.

But the one that I'm really finding impossible is the ideal wig for my currently only girl, Agatha. Here's a picture to give you some idea:

(For the record, no, that's not the real dialogue, that's the artist's wife/typesetter goofing off. The real page is incredibly spoiler-ific.)

You'd think a long blond wig would be easy. Oh, heck no. No no no. The big ol' cowlick in the back I knew from the start would be impossible without making or comissioning a custom wig from scratch, but even ignoring that it's hard. First off is the general style. Kind of long pseudo-bangs, long enough to pass as part of the hair but short enough that she won't look like a sheepdog every time I move her head. And then there's the color. Oh, gawd, the color. Leekeworld's Goldenrod is probably the closest. Anything more vibrant and it's banana yellow, almost invariably. Very rarely I've been able to find caution cone orange. Truthfully, I'd like something in between goldenrod and that in saturation, but to really be accurate it would probably need to be a blend of two colors to work.

It seems like I'm continually more strongly considering just making one. ^^; I know which nylon hair colors I'd get for her, but it's the cowlick that's holding me back. (I'm presuming it would have to be ventilated back there, but how do you coax the ventilated plugs to stick up? I don't knooow!)

    4. I actually have been encountering this problem with finding a wig I want. I have issues finding a red-haired wig, and when I do find one, they're usually not in the style I want. :|

    5. More boy/man hairstyles for sure. I'm dreaming of finding a wig like the blond girl in this picture, I'd like it to be fiber, though mohair might be more achievable.

    6. It's very difficult (almost impossible) to find attractively styled short men's wigs. I did try commissioning one, but though it was very nice, it still was not the color/style I needed for Holmes, my Sherlock Holmes / Jeremy Brett doll. Finally I just made his wig myself. I found a medium length wig in the appropriate color and carefully cut and styled it into a style that suited Holmes. That said, it would still be nice to find ready-made short wigs, complete with realistic side burns and in a range of natural colors.

Here's Holmes in the wig I customized for him:

I would also like to find long fiber wigs that have natural looking highlights, are not super poufy or full, and therefore would more naturally "hug" the head and face, without overwhelming the doll's facial features. A lot of the girls' wigs I see have too big of waves/curls and just too much hair to look realistic, especially if the doll in question has delicate facial features.

    7. I wish l could find a dark purple wig with no bangs for Hazuki. I was thinking of buying a white wig with no bangs and dying it purple myself.

    8. add me to the realistic boy/men cuts. i want some wigs that make it obvious my boys are boys!i've tried cutting some but either the wefts show or the hair goes the wrong way and its too hard to change it on short hair

    9. I second (Third? or fourth?) the idea that more shades of red/strawberry blond/blond wigs should be out there. I've recently bought my first bjd and while looking for a nice wig for her (I had a general short hairstyle in mind, since she turned out to be a tomboy)... found nothing in the short-haired boy department. Everything is... longish and while I don't mind snipping a wig to style - I can't say I'm good at it!

    10. Yes, more mens styles!
Also I'm having trouble finding a wig in camel color that is not fake fur and that can be used for a boy. I know I will probably have to make my own out of fur, but I just wanted a wig with straight hair that is not puffy or spiky! The search continues.............

    11. Dreads
      Milk-white
      Realistic mohair
Blond--I recently was looking for one and they DO seem rare these days!

    12. Something for a male that's not crazy poofy or so long they look like a girl. The one I'm looking for right now is a sort of short shaggy cut with like a side rat tail (I'm pretty sure that's not what they're called) At this point I think I might have to just look for a longer style wig, get the braid I want and cut the rest off... but it seems like such a waste.

    13. I find it VERY hard to find decent multi-coloured (Rainbow) wigs. I only like fantasy coloured wigs for my dolls preferably in several tones but it is rather tricky to get what I want. This is the main reason why i'd like to try wig making in the future then I can just choose the colours I desire. There are several fantasy coloured wigs on Ebay but unfortunately they aren't very good quality. I have a couple of Happy Camille wigs which are okay but I would like to see more quality mohair wigs in multi-colours for a sensible price. Standard synthetic wigs are fine when you want your doll to have super straight hair but when you want the hair to be wavy/curly or when you want to style it, mohair is best and more natural looking. I do find the synthetic mohair wigs by Monique of very good quality but sadly they don't really make wigs in multi/ rainbow colours.

    14. I love the look of a side shave and I see some around but none look exactly the way I want them to. Like people will to "flocking" but it isn't exactly what I want. I'm looking for one side of the wig just being really short. I've seen really good custom made wigs but those are expensive and usually made for a specific doll's head. One day I'll probably just get one because I want one so bad!

    15. Actually, a Maiko wig. I don't even think they existence so I'll have to make one but that's okay.

    16. Light sun-streaked hair over darker blond/brown, for a boy.

    17. I haven't seen good short mens wigs. but i know they are hard to make so i understand that.

    18. Add another for more short masculine cuts in colors besides bleach blond and black! Iplehouse has a really great one and four of my boys are wearing it in various colors. I have a lot of teens and most of them are pop stars or actors, and I need short cuts! I'd like more colors between blond and chocolate brown, too. And I need them in synthetic fiber, since I won't use anything from animals. I've seen a few angora and mohair that look great, I'm just not ok sticking that on my doll. :/
