1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Is there anywhere you refuse to take your doll? why?

Aug 10, 2008

    1. I wouldn't want to take really big dollies or really small ones anywhere but my house. Even in my house, I would never take my doll into the bathroom. What if they fell in the hot tub or something. @.@
As for other sized dolls, I would never take them to school or work. *shudders* That wouldn't go so well.

    2. I don't really take my kids out for safety and trouble's sake. Having some company isn't worth risking it in my opinion. I will take them happily to doll functions or other doll people's homes but that's it. I have several friends who cart their dolls anywhere and everywhere and while I don't mind it is a bit odd. Then again I do have a chihuahua and I don't take her around in my purse either.

    3. uum... (thinks) I actually could not think of anywhere I wouldn't take my dolls...

except maybe a dirty car garage or somewhere where there's bound to be a lot of oil... Or somewhere where there's a lot of ink (trapped in a cubical with 4 year olds and sharpies :o but, that's unlikely)

I've taken Newt to highschool, into a public bathroom, top of a lighthouse (on a field trip with 5th graders for that matter)... I just dont let her go, and always keep a new box of magic erasers with me if something gets on her

Edit: erm- the bathroom thing. I PROMISE I wasn't taking pictures there (LOL). it was during the same 5th grade trip, and my sister (the only child I'd trust Newt alone with) also had to wash her hands for dinner...

    4. Well, I'd never take a doll into the toilet... and I'd be super-careful if I had to go anywhere potentially dirty, but I avoid dirty places in general already, so...

      =^__^=

    5. So far? Nope, they've been to work, on buses, restaurants, the hospital, care centers, friends, Wal mart, shopping malls, the zoo... Haji has perched on the TP dispenser in several local restrooms...

I stopped caring what strangers thought of me when I went punk at age 20 back in 85, 24 years later, I've only gotten more indifferent.

    6. honestly I am pretty comfortable taking my dolls everywhere, and I have dolls to suit almost any situation, however I tend to avoid taking them where there will be grabby children, LOUD people, greasy food or where I could be badly jostled. Example? I recently went to Niagra Falls for the first time, the dolls stayed home, there wre two reasons, I did not feel like risking any of them being damaged in jostling by tourists, drenched on Maid in the Mist, or the like, and secondly, my housemate gets weirded out by me taking dolls with me. he likes them, thinks they are pretty, but looks at me funny when we go out with them. My partner gets the same look from him

    7. I wouldn't take mine to work at all!!!

      Haha, I work with dogs, at there are about 35 -> 60 there everyday on average. Talk about a disaster waiting to happen! I'm not to keen on the thought of a horror, mauled mod on my pretty Sangi. o__o;

As far as public.. I might end up taking him to the beach with me, but not for play. He's a surfer, so I'd like some pretty shots of him near the ocean.

I also plan on taking him with me to cosplay cons. I want to dress him up with me <3

    8. I think I would only be a little wary with taking my dolls to someplace where there has been some documented paranormal activity, due to the "hitchhikers" they might pick up. Examples of these would be graveyards, anyplace where bad things like say, a murder happened--something like that.

Iron and crosses can prevent bad things, but I think it's better to just avoid the entire thing.

Also, I would be careful taking her to eateries and the like where things could potentially spill and damage her.

There's also a time and place for dolls--work and school do not fit those criteria.

    9. same here ^^ with the only exception that i might end up taking my 70cm to the university:o

    10. The Beach. xD

The sand would get everywhere. In all the cracks/joints. And they ould bake in the sun probly like 50x faster than they would on a normal day.

As much as I'd think how cute it would be to put an adorable bathing suit on my Tiny Jasmine, and take photos of her at the beach this summer, I don't think I ever will. xD

Unless we were staying at one of those rented houses at the beach, then I could probly set something up, take a few shots, then bring her back inside. :]

    11. :lol:toilet....bathroom....bed....

    12. I try to take them out as little as possible: only for face up, minor repairements (like getting rid of little scratches  ) and to fellow BJD-owners meet ups :)

    13. I wouldn't bring them to big family-parties and such. I only take my mini-dolls (prolly only 1) if I visit a friend or something. I'm too afraid anything's gonna happen to them!

Never been to a doll-meet...there's never any here :(

    14. Hmmm.. there are not many places I wouldn't take a doll, actually. Except maybe a boat. I'm always sorta careful about what I take on boats. But it also depends what kind of boat.

    15. So far I've only taken my dolls out in public to places where I know the people there (the chiropractor, orthodontist, and the like) so I know that they wouldn't hurt my doll and wouldn't let other people hurt him. However, I refuse to take him to school because my school is full of a bunch of idiots who have zero respect for anything that doesn't play music really really loudly. Granted, there are lots of people in school whom I know do have respect for other people's things and such, and some that might actually be interested in these dolls, but, unfortunately, the idiots outnumber the intelligent >.>
Perhaps if I get an internship this summer and after I've gotten to know everyone there, I might bring Alexei in every once in a while. Like every Friday or something, make it an event ^_^ Or to the library next time I go. People don't cause trouble in libraries...that I know of. But, for now, he only goes places where there are enough people I trust to outweigh any annoying people I might come across.

    16. School is a big no-no. (Too busy, and I'm actually happy being almost completely rid of bullies, so no go there)
And the big city. There are too many people there with bad intentions. I don't want my doll to get broken or stolen.

I'll probably only take him to conventions, fairs, friends and family.

    17. Well for one, anyplace dealing with water. I will do photoshoots at beaches and pools somtimes, but I like to do that when I know nobody will be around so my doll wouldnt get damaged by getting wet. I also refuse to take them with me whenever I babysit ( little kids + very exspensive dolls = BAD IDEA!! ) Theres a few other places where I wouldn't take my dols but I can't remember them off the top of my head at the momment.

    18. Oooh! That's a good cover story! I'll have to remember that!

I probably wouldn't take my dolls anywhere except a meetup, or to a close friend's house.

    19. Seashore、park、pub、Department store and Movie theater...etc

    20. I've only ever taken mine to a convention and to my bf and friends' houses. I'd never take them anywhere else. Why would I want to, say, carry one around a mall anyway? A little resin person has no business there
