1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Is there anywhere you refuse to take your doll? why?

    1. This thread is fun. Okay this is my list...

~Dance Class - Too many grabby hands... too many little kids from Kinderdance ... and unfortunately I cant bring the dollies into class with me. (Kind of need my hands for this one)

~Voice Lessons/Guitar Lessons - I have a feeling that the poor guys that give me voice and guitar lessons would have a heart attack...

~Musical Theater Rehearsal - Lets not even go there. One wrong move and one wrong slip of the mouth mentioning the fact that my boys are atomically correct...*Shudders* I dont even want to think about what my loverly friend's would do... and besides they could get thrown around and trampled.

    2. On an aeroplane. I'd never risk taking them to another country.

    3. My aunt house! Never ever ever ever ever!!

She a bad chain smoker! Horrible.. I go there for one night and everything is covered in a nasty smoke smell the next day! Its gross! Id never let my boy go there!

    4. Work. I clean the lobby at McDonalds so the only time I'm downstairs in the break room/change rooms is on my break which only happens every 2 or so hours. Defo not leaving a doll in one of the tiny lockers o.o Also I get dirty and everyone else is all greasy so....no. I do plan to bring my doll to school but only every once and awhile when I want to take photos or bring her to anime club ^^

    5. It would be shorter to say where I would take them then where I would not, esp. alone. Worry about someone snatching, bumping them to hard surface, and so on. I have taken at least one doll to many places like parks, stores and such, but to bring them to any place other then where I planed to take pics would be crazy.

    6. My aunts house. She has two dogs and everyone who lives there smokes heavily. When I was little I took my two favourite barbies with me to play with while visiting her. One of them ended up chewed to oblivion after one of the dogs jumped on me and tore it from my hands (which if partly why I'm terrified of dogs now) and the other had to be thrown out because not only did it smell like cigarettes but there were fleas in its hair.
I never want to risk that to happen to any of my BJDs.

    7. Hmm, I've taken my dolls out to doll meets (in various places in the city) quite often (about once a month). I also go to a couple local parks. I prefer there to be other doll people around to fend off curious people (or to fend them off for others if I'm not doing anything), but I've become somewhat braver lately and gone on my own. The only other place I've taken them is my mom's. The dog doesn't bother them other than to sniff them (or abscond with shoes if there's a loose lace to be chewed on). She is always interested in photoshoots I do there (which is why she's in half the photos.. :|) but has never harmed the dolls.

I'd not bring them much of anywhere else. I do drag them to the meets in the city but since there's other dolls around (and doll people) I don't really have a problem with it. I have to say I'm not as worried about damage to the dolls (more about them being stolen or something to that effect) as one of my boys did a swan dive off a bridge at a local park and faceplanted (literally) on the ground beside the bridge. After retrieving my heart (from it's hiding place in a nearby tree), I picked him up to find he hadn't even a scratch on him. A three plus foot fall face first into gravel ground and no damage. :) Never been happier in my life.
I'd never take a doll to a workplace where the doll'd be out for the public to touch. No, no, no, no.. Just no. I've had my purse stolen from the back room at my old workplace.. twice. No flippin' way I'd ever have brought them there.
OT-How did someone walk out with a flat screen tv? :o Our Best Buys/Future Shops have someone planted at the door where you have to show a receipt or you're not allowed out of the store.
Wow, what do you do (job) that brought you up there? I bet you have a ton more snow than me. Send some down, will ya? ;oD
My problem would be they'd then ask what magazine and when's it due out? I prefer saying I'm working on an art project for school. XDDD
Awww, now I feel sorry for the doggies. That's terrible for them to be in that smoke and fleas can kill a dog if there gets to be too many. I've watched too many dogs get sick (and die) from fleas.

    8. I started in on dolls after I took early retirement. If I were still working, though, I'd take my girls there just to stir things up. But I would never leave them unattended!
Otherwise, I've never thought of where I wouldn't take them. I took one to the hairdresser once since she needed her bangs cut. LOL

    9.

    10. your aunts house sounds like a nightmare lol no offense

i get sick to my stomach in houses where poeple smoke inside

my step dad smokes but never inside and i can be around him when he is smoking but in a house i just get sick for some reason

and the dogs sound like they are crazy flea filled fur balls (i love dogs so im not scared but those sound mean)

      and ya

    11. a concert. i would never ever take my dolls to a concert. cause i'm a mosher. mosh + anything = something hurt or broken. no excetions.

i also would never take my dolls to the first 5 rows of the mud show either, at the renfair. name says it all. actaully scrath that. i wouldn't take my dolls anywhere but the last row of seats at the renfair.

also i would never take them to a bar, most of them being underage and all ;) plus drunks seem to get a bit rouwdy and rude. don't want a beer stained resin.

    12. Anywhere when I'm alone, and bad parts of town... Maybe some places in my neighborhood, too. I won't even take my boy to the park down the street when I get him. The juvenile delinquents have taken over it and turned it into a less-than-desirable place to be. :(

Let's see... Busch Gardens (I live 30 minutes away from it!) is a no too, unless my mom, dad, or boyfriend would be willing to hold my doll for me. I love roller coasters too much to go there and not ride anything! xD

    13. ive been thinking about this and reading everyone elses answers and if i still lived with my dad i probably wouldnt take my doll anywhere but now that ive moved in with my mom and live in a new town where i dont know anyone im not as scared about taking my doll places when i get him

with the exceptions od danger or damage of course

      but i mean around people
most people seem worried about what poeple will think and i dont know anyone so i wont be

    14. Mostly plac es where it would be pointless taking them - I'd need both hands free and be too busy to play with the dolls, or where they'd be too easily damaged... caving, or climbing, for example... though I'd happily take them as far as the caving hut/basecamp/accomodation so I could have them with me in the evening after we got back.

    15. I think I'll only bring them to conventions and have around my house.... but places not to put them. Near food and drink or on the corner of a dresser or something potentially dangerous. At the artist alley table she will have to be somewhere safe. O_O With "Do not touch!" signs.

    16. I'll never take my doll to Target again. Too many sticky floors, too many kids wanting to play with my uber-manly 'action figure'. But so far, not much of anywhere is really 'off limits' to me.

    17. You might want to consider making a little yarn leash to attach your doll to yourself, too. I've heard a lot of stories where people have looked away for a split-second and someone's grabbed their doll and just walked off. *_* Not to mention, people seem to be compelled to do the exact opposite of what "Do not _____" signs dictate. D:

But don't let that stop you from enjoying a convention with your doll. When my friend finally manages to convince me into getting an artist's table at a convention (which probably won't be for a long time xD), I'll probably bring my future boy along too.

    18. The string idea is a great idea. I'll make her a little leash definatly now. :3 I'll just have to remember to take it off before standing...... :o I might use an elastic type string...

    19. i wouldn't take my doll anywhere that i don't know well or anywhere where i wouldn't walk alone, such as Haight Street in SanFran (i was there to meet my biological mother). ... hell, i wouldn't take her ANYWHERE in SanFan! i don't trust people there! o.O

    20. My friend and I are both going to a convention a ways away (January). We're starting to work on our cosplay though since it's all hand made. I'll have my boy by then and she already has hers and we'd like to be able to take them with us and show them off without having to actually hold them. We decided that to keep people from taking them out from under our noses we'd incorporate a pram into the cosplay and push them around like babies. That way they'll always be right in front of one of us.

When I get my boy he'll go with me to Jo-Ann fabrics to pick out things for himself, conventions, and my friend's house for photoshoots, but that's probably it. My parents smoke heavily and don't like the fact that I've ordered him, my dogs would chew peices, and my brother is the type that would mess them up on purpose. Though I COULD take it to work and let him sit on my desk my co-workers would either disaprove or get grabby and ask questions.
