Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Is your collection complete?

Jun 9, 2015

    1. Almost. There's only two more dolls that I want. After that, I'm done buying new dolls. I wpuld love to own a Soom Gluino, but that'll never happen and I accept that

    2. My collection will be finished once I have a Bambicrony and another LittleFee. So, just two more dolls but I have a soft heart for cute anthros so we'll see how this goes :XD:

    3. I haven't really thought about this. So I guess not. :P

    4. Probably not. I'm considering a BJD pet for my doll, but undecided on which one.

    5. Its actually kind of funny and I never thought I'd be saying this but my collection is coming to a close soon enough. While there are a great many deal of dolls I love and admire after a recent recalibration of the doll family I felt the need to sell a couple of them and limit my wishlist to a small few things I really wanted. I think the boldest thing I did was include an Okita Souji in the wishlist since I've loved him forever but avoided him due to his cost. That being said he's one of six dolls in the current list that will eventually bring my total to 45 dolls. My goal is to never go over 50.

And of course a few of the heads demand their own bodies but some others I'm just content if they share among themselves. A lot of my dolls are relatively small so it's not too overwhelming but I'd still rather conserve space rather than not.

    6. Yes and No.
Yes because, as Kurogane, I cannot keep up with the cost anymore. And the amount of sewing I have to do is quite overwhelming.
No because I have a few floating heads coming, and unless I find them busts, I will be forever looking for bodies for them. Add to these, I have a need for more unusual dolls in my collection, just to spice things up. Unfortunately, I have to think twice about splashing out on a new full doll, even if it is a tiny.
I'd say my collecting habit is experiencing a lull more than a stop.

    7. Nearly there... Who am I kidding? :(

I'm currently at 6 with the 7th on layaway. There are only 7 more to go, but my wishlist changes so frequently I find it difficult to focus on 'completing' my collection. Plus I have a hard time stopping myself checking out all the new releases each month. I'm sure sooner or later I'll need an intervention :D

    8. It would be if I stayed away from the internet:doh

I had a simple plan of 6-8 dolls to represent the main characters in a short story I fiddle with and they are complete. The rest of the dolls I have are more or less interesting eye candy.

At the moment there are only 3 dolls that keep haunting me to come home. I'd really like to stop buying dolls but the more I explore smaller artisans and discover unique sculpts; I find that my collection isn't very diverse and I'm inspired to create other characters/concepts.

    9. I think that as what comes to the human dolls, my collection is now complete after the newest girl arrives (after that I have 3). I do have some dolly crush-ons but I really do not want to have many dolls since I lack of interest if I have too many characters. I have difficulties on focusing on the individuals you know. However, I am open to animal dolls as they would be the pets of the human ones - but then again - not too many of those either (two would do). I have already one anthro doll, Pipos Baha, but somehow I don`t see her as a doll, it`s just some funny chubby cat-creature. ;)

    10. Err, i think so? Cuz i just got my very first BJD and i just can't fall in love with any other dolls anymore :"> For now i think i will just settle down with only him, but in the far far future i might want to get him a little brother or little sister :3

    11. Sob, not even close. I have a ton of characters left to shell, in addition to the dolls I fall completely in love with and wind up adding to whichever 'family' I think suits them. :doh Needless to say, I've created many characters that did not exist before I got into BJDs.

    12. This thread is really great! :)

My collection is far from completed it will obviously take me some time to save up for the dolls i want to buy. It's not that many of dolls that i want for my collection and story(so far).

My plans that i have set up for the future is to have three Minifee's in total, i am now actually saving up to get my second Minifee, but with the Chloe sculpt and with tan skin. She will be one of my characters in the story of mine, i try do get the dolls to be the characters for the same story that i have. But it's far from completed, i only own one doll at the moment and i really want to buy a boy doll so he can be the main character's boyfriend for my story. But as you can tell my collection is not completed i hope i can bring the characters i have in mind to BJD's it would be very fun to have a little crew of them!:)

So yeah, i will see how it goes i hope that i can get Chloe soon!:dance

    13. Well, the running joke around here is I always say, "Now my collection is complete!" every time I get a new doll. But there's always a new sculpt or an old sculpt I've just discovered that pulls at my heart strings. Plus there are dolls I have now that, while they are painted & dressed, they just don't look the way I want them to yet. So I accept that my collection will always be dynamic.

    14. Haha, well I'm glad to know there are at least SOME collector's out there like myself!

I'm very excited as I have wanted only a very few dolls to complete my collection for quite a long time, a DiM Kassia, Sleepy Bellose and Marcellina. Earlier this year I finally got my hands on a beautiful Kassia! Now, over these past few weeks I've been mulling over the two and decided to let go of Sleepy Bellose as I already have a regular Bellose and it occurred to me that Marcellina and my already floating Alpon head are perfect for two other characters I hadn't ever considered before. So now I've got my eyes set on a Marcellina head, and with DiM's Summer Sale going on right now I aim to get it in the next couple months! YAY! Then the pursuit will be over!

Of course I'll still need bodies for Marcellina and the aforementioned Alpon head, but that doesn't count, does it? ;)

    15. I have all the heads that I want, but I'm not satisfied with all the bodies, so I'll probably sell some to buy alternatives. I have only one fully-complete doll, and another that just needs a wardrobe. I still have a lot of modding to do now with my current dolls, but it's hard when I'm away from home most of the time.

    16. Yes, there's definitely a point at which I will consider my collection complete. No, I'm not there yet. But buying dolls is not going to be a never-ending/open-ended process for me. I've found that though I have added and subtracted a few dolls from my wishlist here and there, basically the same core group of dolls that appealed to me when I first started looking into bjds remains unchanged. When I have all of them, I'll be done buying and just focus on the fun stuff that I have a doll collection for in the first place: sewing, crafting, and photographing. I honestly can't wait to get to that point... I don't really enjoy the actual acquiring process; it's just a necessary evil.

    17. Right now, I have one tiny, and as much as I enjoy fantasizing about expanding my collection I simply do not have the time, money, or space to expand. And if I'm being honest, I really don't want to expand. I've sold every single doll I've owned within 2 years except for my Littlefee, and rather than spending my time trying to sell a doll nobody else wants I'd rather just admire everyone else's dolls.

    18. Surprisingly, I am really close to completing my collection, including clothes and props. Dollwise, I am finished, but I need two small props, a coat, and to dye a piece of clothing before I am 100% finished.

    19. I started with wanting only one. *lol* But as of now, I can safely say my crew is complete. ^^ Apart from one unplanned floating head, the other dolls were all planned for and more or less complete. I intend to focus on making clothes and props for them. (Unless other unplanned floating heads come along. I won't say no… Maybe… :P)

    20. When I started buying BJDs, I wanted two boys and one girl, but that didn't last very long (5 months). An unexpected MSD boy and a floating SD boy head derailed that plan.

Now I feel like I am SO CLOSE to having my BJD family complete!! I wanted a tan Dollzone Leslie for several years, and he has finally arrived, so I could do without more resin dolls (in fact, I could even let go of a few who have "underperformed"). And once my anticipated new Dollfie Dream girl arrives, I will feel like the DD side of my doll family is done as well.

Until the next "gotta have" doll comes along, anyway!! I KNOW I have more than enough dolls to do things with for the rest of my life. I WANT to stop acquiring, I really do!
