1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Is your collection complete?

Jun 9, 2015

    1. Nope, I'm far from complete! I have at least 5 more dolls to buy, and 4 of them are Minifees!

    2. With so many beautiful dolls being released each year I feel like my collection will only be "complete" until I run out of room to store them haha. :sweat

    3. Over the decade or more that I've been in this part of the doll hobby, I've amassed a much larger collection than I envisioned I would. After my first doll, Volks SDC Kaede, it was sometime before I saw another that captured my attention. But then Volks released SD13 Heath, and I had to have him, knowing that one day I'd find a way to get my grail girl Madoka to go with him. Eventually, Sizu (Madoka) was released, and she found her way to me. They became my core family, and everyone of the larger dolls fit into that group somehow. Kaede remains a stand alone, along with my FCS MSD Boy, and then there are several groups of tinies (Pukipukis, and Anthros) that inhabit the dollhouse and teeny tiki bar. I hadn't bought an ABJD in over 2 years, so I think I thought my crew was complete. My focus shifted back to my first love Gene Marshall who is now being made in gorgeous JamieShow resin, and I dabbled in Amelia Thimble and Sad Sally too. But just a few days ago, I found an off topic CCC Firefly Faerie in stock at Denver Doll, so I decided to get just one more doll...LOL! ;)

    4. There are currently no dolls in my wish list. I guess that means it's complete for the time being.

    5. I would like to add more mature guy dolls to my collection so technically it is not complete. If what I have now is all I'd ever be able to have I would be fine. So I guess my collection is incomplete but comfortably so? XD

    6. My collection is nearly complete. The only thing I would want to add at this point is an anthro of some sort. A little frog, or cat, perhaps :) I feel like if I had a huge collection, I wouldn't get to spend much time with each of them. I've been keeping it small on purpose!

    7. Barely. just waiting for the right doll/s to show up.

    8. I haven't even gotten my first doll yet, but how can anyone's collection ever be ABSOLUTELY complete? I dunno about you guys, but new, gorgeous dolls come out all the time...I wouldn't be able to contain myself! lol. And ACCESSORIES! Even if you say your doll collection is complete, why wouldn't you want to buy your babies more pretty clothes to wear? ^^;

    9. I'd like to amend my first answer.

      No, not by a long shot lol. I just ordered a 2D doll Mumu from Alice's Collections, and will probably talk myself into another one from that line sooner or later. I just keep running across more and more really cool dolls, and my wish list is growing faster than my beard!

    10. My collection is almost complete! I'm taking this year to finish unfinished dolls and buy new clothing for the ones I have. I'm really trying to limit my doll spending. ;;

    11. My collection is complete after the three I'm waiting on arrive. I can say that there is not a single BJD that I need or want to purchase at this time. Since I collect mainly Sooms, I can't say for sure I'll never purchase another doll, but the only thing that would really change my plans is if they released something that I fell in love with~

    12. I'm not sure I can finish my collection. The dolls all end up as my characters, and there's always a new story. I feel like at some point I'm going to have to slow down, and downsize though. (wallet quietly sobs in background)

    13. Well, I admit that in my original post I was speaking primarily about the dolls themselves, not the huge range of other things you can do with them or buy for them like clothes, wigs, eyes, props, etc. And as for new dolls coming out...that's true, but I dunno. Perhaps if you're collecting in order to complete a pre-made set of characters, it's easier not to fall in love with new dolls? For me, even though I've been out of the hobby for awhile, once I returned and saw all of the dolls that had been made in my absence, I still didn't really want any new ones. I have my very small wishlist and they still suit my few remaining characters perfectly, so I don't feel a need to go after any of the other new dolls being made.

    14. Almost :) Just need the last doll on my wishlist.

    15. *sigh*

      I envy people who can say that their collection is complete... I have felt that mine was complete a few times now, but every time this feeling has been followed by a kind of ... appetite ... for more dolls. At the moment there is one more doll on my wishlist. But the doll I am currently waiting for was a completely unexpected one. Unexpected dolls happen to me! How am I supposed ever to be 'done' with my collection then? I do suppose that at one point I will have to stop adding dolls because I will have no more room for them. To make that work I will have to stay off the internet or something :p.

    16. I don't think I could ever "complete" a collection of anything. But right now I have a goal of having a male and female in each of the 3 major doll sizes. So far I have a male and female SD, 2 males and 1 female in the 25 to 29cm range, and 1 lonely MSD girl. When I eventually get a boy MSD will have met that goal. I doubt I will stop collecting however.

    17. I'm nowhere close. I've started collecting the dolls/shells for the characters I've had around for a long time and they need a lot of detail work. However, the dolls I've had around for awhile still aren't "complete". Pretty soon I'll focus on clothing and shoes and not starting new projects....... hahahah *_*

    18. I think the fun is in the collecting, not the completion of a collection. I've collected many different kinds of things all my life, and the fun is in the search.

    19. I honestly don't think mine will ever be complete. It seems that I want a doll or two (or three) from every company I see. My favorite doll aesthetics are those of Luts and Fairyland and they're always putting out new, beautiful sculpts. I still want a lot of older CP sculpts and several of the Peakswoods FOC (I love dolls with huge eyes). And I want a few from Iplehouse, and a few from Supia, and maybe a Limhwa/EOS Half Elf, and I still want a Leekeworld Arien, and there are some Volks sculpts that really call to me (hello, Creamy Mami), and there are a bunch limiteds (Crobidoll Sinbi) I'd love to find again, and some companies that I just might like to have some day (Island Doll, Oasis Doll, Ring Doll, Soul Doll)... Okay this NEVER ends, I'm always finding new dolls to add to my wishlist! Did I mention Angell-Studio? What about Elf Doll, and Momocolor, and Migidoll? I even want a Resinsoul Mei! SOMEONE MAKE ME STOP TYPING.

    20. i dont think a collection can ever be complete because everyone needs it to be perfect and that's almost impossible
