Is your collection complete?

Jun 9, 2015

1. I think my collection can't be completed... Always will be a pair of dolls that will complement it.Although, how many times have tried to focus on the dolls there, but I can't.

2. How ironic, my own thread is making me feel like an outsider! I am very excited as I have a body on the way for my longtime floating head, and after he's complete I'll only need one more full doll! if I'm lucky I can order his head by the end of the summer :) I'm really quite happy to have a complete collection!

I do admit, a part of me does feel like it might be nice to have a couple more girls, but ultimately I do think I wouldn't be particularly attached to them as I have my core characters here. I have a difficult time keeping around dolls that don't suit characters I truly adore, and with as expensive as these dolls are it would start to feel frivolous.

3. I doubt my collection will ever be complete. My dolls aren't meant to become particular characters, so it's not like there's an end to the group. I just buy what I like, although I've slowed down a lot. I've only purchased one new doll so far this year. But you never know what great new sculpts my favourite companies will come out with.

4. I currently only have one doll, and I thought that would be all I'd want but It's true that BJD's are addictive, because now there are at least two more that I really want. :P

5. I can say that my collection is completed because I have already gotten all my dream dolls like Volks Okita, IOS Lacrimosa and Luts Avalanche Romance ver. Since this year, I became to focus more on sewing outfit and taking photos than getting a new doll, although I may buy some, if I find dolls which really like and the price isn't too expensive. :)

6. A couple months ago I posted that my collection was complete. Wow, was I wrong! Meh, it's only three more. No biggie....

7. i think my collection is never complate cause their are always new doll coming up and u really cant resist and so far i have 5 minifees 3 SDs and 2 Yosd and 3 SD girls coming one AS and 2 F60 :D

8. When I first began collecting I thought I would only ever own 1 doll, now I have over 30.... :sweat and its not complete! Don't think it will ever be actually too many original characters from my stories require shelling. XD

9. Tell me how it all started, what you originally planned and where it all ended up. Tell me about your dolls!

Ten years and a whole lot of (okay, 40) dolls and heads, I feel like I'm at the point of finishing. I need to clear the floating heads out of their box, and that's going to take several years in and of itself, but I feel like I'm done. There are dolls I would still love to have, but there isn't that same feeling of "this one is perfect to be that character/archetype/individual!" that there has been.

I didn't really come in with much of a plan, except that I knew there were a few dolls I really needed to have--Rei, Christian, and the twins, Zoe and Audrey. As time passed and their story evolved, then my collection evolved. There have been a few dolls that have come that I fell too hard in love to let them pass, and a few surprises (I never expected to have any minis, for one, or smaller-than-Yo-sized tinies!), event heads and bonus heads are my Waterloo, but I'm at a point of satisfaction and contentment with my group, and I can start devoting more energy to getting them all just so.

It's a nice feeling, that.

10. I hope my collection of bjd will be completed x)
And I just now understood that I want to have 3-4, max 5 dolls, but my wish-list is much more wide :oo what should I do xDD
Well, I think I can't treat with more than 5 dolls, so those dolls I buy first complete my collection x))

11. Sometimes I find myself split between feeling like I have too many dolls and feeling content with the number of dolls in my crew (I have 24...and now the number seems too big to me right now, haha). There are still a couple dolls I want, but that drive to save up and buy them just isn't there anymore. Financially it's not smart for me to be buying dolls anymore so I'm glad that part in my brain that typically goes BUY BUY BUY is taking a break, hehe. I'm more than satisfied with my collection the way it is. It's complete enough.

However, I can change my mind in the future. ;)

12. My collection is complete!
I started out with just one doll, a guy (DZ Hid). And I wanted just one doll for a long time. Then I thought, maybe a girl would be nice. But somehow my girl ended up being a sister to my guy instead of his lover. Then another boy came along and together with him came the concept of getting the Chinese elements in dolls. First I just wanted the 5 basic element (wood, fire, eart, metal and water). But the girl mentioned earlier and my second guy became Yin and Yang. My DZ Hid became the element of life (Qi). But now I got the complete set of elements. I also got a Yo-Sd, a tiny (11cm) and 2 SD dolls (one over 70cm). So yes I got the basic sizes and I got all my elements. So yeah, my collection is pretty much complete ^_^ Oh And I also have an animal doll, a fox.

If I want a new doll now, I told myself to sell one of my other dolls (since I only intended to cover the Chinese elements). But I don't think that will ever happen. I like all the dolls I got, even tho most of them are common or more 'boring' sculpts. It's all about how they'll look when they're finished and representing their element. And when I'm done with that I can totally make matching outfits for all of them, working with theme's and so.. *Squeeee!!!* :D My current doll plans will keep me busy for years allready!

13. My collection will be end when I have a chalco from Soom or a sohwa from switch :C

14. I want a complete collection for many reasons, having a collection super big mean you never play attention and work with all of them and the other is that is not necessary. I got my first BJD 9 years ago and my second 8 years ago, I have been all this time without getting another and was super satisfied. This year I decided to buy to finally get the remaining characters of their story and that will be it.

One thing I found is that I can look shops find beautiful sculpts but so what, so I favorite and look after some months and is very easy to cut almost everyone, I still like them but is not that feeling of this is it. So the ones that remain after a long time are the right ones and some characters doesn't have sculpts right for them yet on the market. I don't say is impossible to love another sculpt after I complete my collection but I'm picky enough that I don't worry.

15. every time I think it's complete I still end up loving this 'one moaar' doll :D
though, agreeing with sadi-chan - I don't go all crazy once I see a pretty doll these days... No doll 'haunts' my mind as much anymore... Apart from the one last grail that I'd really like to have, because it's been two years since I'm in love ;) There were other dolls here and there, and for some short periods of time i'd forget about him, but... he comes back :D (i'm sorry if it sounds as weird as if I were talking about a lover or someone lol xD)

16. I need one more volks sd doll and the collection will be complete

17. My MSD collection is complete for sure. I currently have 8 and I am happy with them and I do not feel the need to add to this specific group though I love to admire other people's dolls. I am feeling I want one more larger SD doll to get that complete feeling in that size range.

I do know for sure that my tinies will never be done! LOL! I haven't even updated my list here and it's embarrassing the number of my tiny hoard but they're that much easier to store and take up so much less space!

18. Mine is not. There are so many beautiful sculpts out there that I don't think mine will ever be complete! I am constantly falling in love with new sculpts everytime I look at dolls! <3

19. There are no more dolls that I want atm and I feel at 16 I have to many. Part of me says I should sell a few to make my collection more manageable (all but 3 are 65cm+ guys) and have more space for them. Problem is I am still too attached to all that I have so I suppose 16 is how it is going to stay for now. When I got my first I thought I would only have one then had to get another to keep him company and for photos. Then after a few more I learned what I really loved which is shelling OCs as well as a few non original characters that I love. I have sold 6 with no regrets as I much prefer the ones I have now.

20. My collections is at a grand total of 1 and a half... So I'm define tly going to be expanding it in the future!
