1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Is your collection complete?

Jun 9, 2015

    1. I am actually downsizing! =( but I love my dolls that I do have, it has been years since I have really been able to focus on them and get back into all of this.....I think I have completely forgot how to use a forum lol! >.<

    2. Nope. Not even close.
I keep getting sidetracked from my "list" by cute little dolls like Sprockets. It's ok though. I am getting a nice un-intended collection of that size and they are a lot more fun then I would have thought. The big ones will still keep coming.

    3. For now! I know better than to say never in this hobby. XD

    4. I feel it's complete, although I might have to downsize in the future due to space issues.

    5. ok, so I got the doll I had on my wishlist and... ended up with 5. Then I decided that I felt better/more comfortable wth 4 of them and... I decided to downsize asap xD THis all made me realise that: yes, my collection's finally complete ;D I've had/played with all the grails I longed to have over the years, now I know which one of them worked out and which was a big, big disappointment and... I'm enjoying the ones that stayed with me :)) OMG, it's such a relief *-*

    6. I'm so close to finally completing my collection, I can taste it!:) It has taken many years and a couple of false starts along the way, but I've held fast to my initial goal of finishing up somewhere around an even dozen throughout. And it appears I'm finally topping things off at 14, which is a nice, manageable number for me. I've really been focused on finishing things up this year...as far as the resin is concerned...and have pulled out all the stops (my doll collecting in 2015 will henceforth be remembered as "the summer of layaway hell!"):doh But there's finally light at the end of the tunnel. My last few dolls are currently on layaway and the only thing remaining after that is to get a body for my one floating head sometime next year. Then I'll be completely done with the resin acquisition process, and will just have fun spoiling and enjoying the dolls I have.

    7. In order to finish my collection I'd need 8 more dolls. That's not happening anytime soon, so I'll be content with my one for now.

    8. I feel my collection is coming to a close but it will never be complete.

    9. I'd like to say that my collection would be complete after x dolls but I think that even if I got all the dolls currently on my wish list, new ones are gonna come out that I'll need again anyway!

    10. is my collection complete? NEVER! lol...but I would say I need to go on hiatus. I've got too many dolls that came at the same time so I need to spend more time with them.

    11. I have an OT collection that is complete because I have all the ones ever made and they are not making anymore. Nada. Zip. That's it. Even if I feel done with BJD it's silly to declare completeness when the industry itself is still creating new things. Who knows what amazing doll might catch my eye in a month, a year or a decade from now.

    12. I'm happy to say that over half my characters have been shelled. Though some only have heads, but at least I found the right sculpts to portray them. There are some characters who are harder than others to shell so I'm kind of still waiting for the perfect sculpt.

    13. My doll collection in general seems to be fluid. Changes from time to time.

    14. Am I done? Oh, lord no. I've only begun. And I tend to make characters for sculpts I like. Hypothetically, I could buy everything on my list and in a month, or a year, or a week, end up with a new character. The Crimson Peak dolls happened as a surprise, for example

    15. I feel like my collection is as complete as it is ever going to be. While I have a few other BJD floating about, I have four dolls that over the years have become my core, and a fifth who is working her away into being a part of that group. I haven't had the urge to bring home another BJD in some time, though I've also been in a position where it isn't really an option, so I'm not sure if it is imposed by situation or if my collection is truly complete.

    16. I have two dolls at home, have two on layaway, in the process of buying two, and searching for two. Lol I guess I like doing things two at a time? Nah lol but at first I thought I would be a "one doll" person. But.... I see ones I like and make a character for them and BAM. It's done.
Will I ever be done? Yes, if all doll makers quite making doll. Rofl.

Edit: just bought one of the dolls I was in the process of buying..... Lol I have a problem

    17. Nope. There are still a few dolls I'm looking for, but they are difficult to find, so it might take a while. It's not like I'm in a hurry, though. I'm sure it'll work out in the end :).

    18. i don't think it will ever be as long as i am in the hobby. i don't have any dolls i am actively looking for right now. (though i do have a couple i would like to get if our dollar was so poor, and hope to get them eventually) i plan to sell a few over the next year or so, the ones i'm not really attached to, but then i'll either use that to get some of the dolls i've been eyeing for a while, or new ones will come out that i can't resist... so no i think if i ever felt i was done.... i would probably be selling them to move onto a new hobby, something i'm nowhere near ready to do right now!

    19. Nope! I was actually trying to downsize and sell some of my dolls that I don't absolutely love any more, and while I did sell them, I replaced them with new dolls. So, so much for that. My preferences may change, but I'll always find new molds that I enjoy.

    20. Nope! I've only got 1 but I need 4 for all my characters so far.
Maybe one day I'll get more than 4.
