    1. I had plans, oh, I had such plans...
And of course none of them worked the way I'd expected ^.^; My first doll was supposed to be Blank. One I wouldn't be attached to so I could practice customizing without guilt. At most, he was going to have severe scarrage based on a character from a video game.
Well... right before he got home, one of my RP characters (Lane) effectively 'claimed' the body. Which in turn meant I had to bring home his boyfriend, Who ended up fitting perfectly with the Hound model, which I'd wanted for my first original doll Character. (Necross).
My third doll was supposed to be an older story character, but I couldn't bond with him that way, and he became his own character (though he kept the name) (Archane).
My fourth doll supposed to be a new character, a sea elf. But then when he got home, he became a DIFFERENT Entirely new character, and refused to let me Dye him. (Thalen)
As Thalen's world developed into a story, other characters came into being, and then I had to bring one of them home! Probably the only one who made it home with his original purpose completely intact. (Raiken)
And in the box with Raiken, was an incidental host for a loud version of another one of my Rp Characters from the Same game as the FIRST two. (Derrik)

      >.< they thwart me on purpose, I know they do.

My next doll(s) is going to be a celebrity and all of his characters, and a character I've based off of him. Watch that go haywire too! (Minimee Christian Kane)

    2. Oh, my Miharu got his own character, I just bought him and watch him closer, then he shows his character more and more each day. And that would be fine with my others coming dolls! XD

(sorry, if my english is bad)

    3. I originally wanted to make all my existing characters into dolls when I first found out about them several years ago. I eventually scrapped that idea, firstly because my existing characters belong in comic-books, and to work on them all day on paper and then to turn around and have my free-time taken up by playing with them AGAIN in doll-form would be... very much the over-saturation XD I really wanted - needed - to have my dolls as a seperate creative outlet.

    4. Ahh the dolls i want to get are based on characters i made up for a comic idea XD. Abel a 24 year old novelist and his younger sister Elleanora (Elle).
They have a really cute platonic relationship despite being siblings which is as we know D= taboo.
      <3
I wish i can get the dolls though and dress them up ;w; but... no moneyz...

    5. Naw, my doll is pretty much her own character. Even though I'll just probably end up making a story about the whole thing. Lol.
I don't think I'd make a doll into an already character. Not that I wouldn't mind it, or think it's dumb. But I don't have very many OC's to do that with. Not only that. But I'm not connected with my little OC's as other people are with theirs. And though I've written a few stories. The characters in them, I don't really think of as OC's. Even though, technically they are. I dunno.. I guess I'm weird like that. XD
      So yah~

    6. No none of mine are based on anyone they all have there own characters and back storys.

    7. I have a roleplay character names Serina Night (Yes, I know that's my username. I stole it from the character. :)) and when I got my doll she looked so much like a Serina that I had to call her that. I wasn't sure about it and asked my mom and she said I should name her Serina as well. I had never mentioned the name in context of my doll so I decided why not. I was rather tempted to make her like my character but she's just to different. For one, my doll looks so serious! She just has a different feel so it just won't have worked. I really like her as her own character, even if she is rather similar. I'm not sure if I would want to do that with my dolls, it would depend of if I found the perfect doll. :sweat

((The nice thing about her not being one of my characters is that I have free rain with what she looks like and what I do with her. ;)))

    8. 99% of mine are original characters. Only some were conceived of before, from an ongoing text story, and others sprang into being from the doll that houses them, sometimes slowly, sometimes full-blown.

The doll who's based on an anime character was a fluke to end up belonging to me, but as I'm fond of that character anyway, I ran with it. I had to come up a reason for him to be in doll form (my characters know what kind of bodies they live through), and of course had to develop his personality to be real in this environment. So at this point he's somewhat an alternate-universe version of the canon character.

    9. a strange thing happened for my future doll's characters. My soon to be first doll (DoT E-an) didn't have a personality until I decided that she was the one for me. Then I came up with a story and a personality for her. In that story of course there were other characters. Of course I thought it would be pretty cool to turn them into dolls too.

so now I'm also looking for dolls to fit my first doll's story.

      Anyways, more on subject;

I also want to get a doll to make into my World of Warcraft Character xD I love her very much, but I don't have either the time or will to play WoW anymore. What better way to always have my lovely Blood Elf girl around than turning her into a doll? So far I'm strongly considering Impldoll Chirstoper for her :)

    10. When I first saw BJDs, I too wanted to have many of my original characters in doll form... but as someone said (can't recall who, but they were on this thread *_*) their OCs were made for comic books/writing, and sketching, etc, and having them in doll form would be spending way too much ~time~ with them, which causes characters to die rather fast :c

On the other hand, I do have... one or two... OCs that I'd really like in doll form... but only because I barely pay attention to two out of three of them whenever I write/sketch :sweat
Also the third of the three would make for a fantastic modding experience :D

    11. all my dolls is based of my original characters XD

    12. I don't have any dolls yet..But I'm planning to have at least 4 and half of them based on characters in One Piece..

    13. It sometimes amazes me how people have made up characters since they were little and then decide to give those characters doll molds. Maybe it's because I'm usually content with just my twin sister and the other people that inhabit the world being around me, but I never made up any sort of character with a specific look, personality, or backstory. It makes me feel uncreative. ^^;;

But my dolls do have characteristics that transcend anything physical. For me, they hold feelings or auras that appeal to me. For example, my boy Romanov holds a dark, inquisitive, romantic, disturbed aura mixed in with a little Khantatat influence (don't worry, you don't have to know who that is ;3). When I think of this "characteristic," it brings to mind things like certain types of art, music, stories, design styles, historical events, and many other things. Even his name Romanov reflects that dark aura for me.

So far, my photostories don't express Romanov's (or Roy's) true feeling/aura. But it's a personal thing that I don't think I could express in photostories. Plus, it's for my own pleasure.

    14. my first doll (IN THE MAIL!!! WEWT!!!) will be his own character that i thought up a few days specifically for him. my second doll i intend to make be my main rp character, antomry. i have always wanted an antomry doll, and while it will be great, i doubt that doll's personality will be as strong since it will be forced into antomry's, and since antomry already exists to me in my head, the doll will not be the personification or a vessel of him, but just a symbol of him. it will be ice to hug him though. anyway, i preffer to make characters for my dolls so they have space to grow instead of being forced into a character that has had years and years and YEARS to develope and become un-changable if the doll does not like something about that pre-existing character well then it just sucks for them because i'm not changing antomry, he was here first.

    15. My first doll is named Roy Mustang and is based off the character of the samename on the anime Fullmetal Alchemist. I love the character and his personality so it seemed natural to make him into dollfie form :3 He wont be exactly like the original but close enough lol I also have 2 other dolls that will be arriving soon and those will be based on original characters. (i havent decided what to name them or their stories yet ><)

    16. ...Exactly! when I first got into BJDs and deciding what one I wanted, I was going to make my favorite characters. That didn't quite work out. But I have designed new characters around my doll and dolls to be!

    17. Well, I'm feeling a bit disconnected here ~ since my answer wasn't on the poll.
I am an extremely creative person (by those who know me), yet I don't have a character in mind when I choose a BJD. I choose based on the appeal of the doll! When I get them home, it's a few days or weeks sometimes before I decide on a 'look' for them....and in a couple of cases, I changed it altogether.
I have an Alice in Wonderland Theme with some dolls...and others are coupled up because they look right together...and one stands alone without any story or set personality ~ she's just fabulous!

I guess I'm not one to pin myself down to just ONE idea for a BJD. I love to change...everything. All the time. :kitty1

    18. Yep yep I had my boy allll figured out before he got here. What he was like and all. An outgoing super happy go lucky guy who always smiles. A character I made up. When I got him here though that went RIGHT out the window. His smile was gentle and very mature. Sweet, calm and quiet. This was NOT just as planned XD

    19. Giving a personality to a doll helps with the overall look and "feel" you want of it, I'd say. In my case, I had a character in mind for my doll before it arrived, but since I'm always changing my mind... I changed his personality almost as soon as he arrived. For my first doll, I've settled on a personality of sorts (he's just the pouty doll who sits on my desk and ponders about the differences/similarities between resinality and humanity, if you can call that a "character"). For my second doll (who's a floating head for the time being), I'm basing him on an original character of mine. I like writing original fiction and, well, while I did have this plot for a story, the character my dollie will be based on "came to me" in a dream. Literally, a dream. It seems I went to bed with too many ideas about my story and just had a dream of it. The name, his looks and his story all appeared clearly enough on it.

In conclusion, it seems I'm better at coming up with personalities and stories for my dolls when unconscious and out like a light, than when pretty awake and clearly thinking.

    20. So far, my dolls have developed their own original stories and personalities independent from anything I've ever written or read or watched. The exception to this would be the two dolls I'm planning to get someday: Aubrey and Mordecai. Both of them were characters from a supernatural story I used to write. But I've decided to give those names to a couple of dolls and transfer their personalities over -- evolve those characters and make them anew, so to speak. Incidentally, they weren't even close to being my favourites in that story, but I've always loved their names.
