1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Is Your Doll Better Dressed Than You?

Feb 19, 2017

    1. Yes, definitely yes! I've always liked designing female clothing and accessories, however I've never liked wearing girly/feminine things myself, I've always been more of a tomboy/non-girly-girl and I feel too weird having my looks be in dissonance with my "self" (though, I do wear skirts nowadays simply because they don't feel so physically uncomfortable like pants do, not to mention that properly fitting pants are also harder to find and I hate shopping for human clothing :sigh).

So basically, I like fashion but hate wearing it, which is actually the reason I first got into this hobby. :)

    2. Haha, without a doubt. My typical day-to-day wear is jeans and a t-shit, but my doll is getting all sorts of frilly dresses, cute skirts, kimono, adorable accessories...

I spoil my doll and my cats more than myself. :)

    3. For sure they are better dressed. Jeans and a t shirt type here as well. I work too many animals to get all dolled up. (LoL, get it?) Being on call all the time for animal control, it is difficult to chase down a dog in heels.

    4. Well, my boys are definitely nicely dressed! But they don't compare to my style. ;)
They have their own style and tastes, unfortunately, lol. So I'm a bit bias on what I'd wear and what they'd wear.

    5. Yes indeed, They have much cooler clothes then I do. I wish my bjd clothes came in my size.

    6. I like to think we are equally well dressed - one of the reasons I initially got into the hobby is because I love fashion and I think it comes out both on me and my dolls.

    7. My girls are always better dressed than me and I used to have problems controlling myself to stop spending more money on their outfits than mine.

    8. Yes, because she has better legs than I do, lol!

I love love love skirts & shorts, but I've always hated my stocky little legs. That's why I love dressing Minifee & Unoa, honestly.

    9. Yes and no, there are a few really fancy outfits that look a lot better than some of mine but for the more casual looks we are very similar in clothing. Sometimes I swear she has the miniature version of some of my clothes haha.

    10. Yes, definitely, lol. I generally dress pretty casually and comfortably and my doll tends to dress a bit fancier!

    11. I don't have any, but she probably will be.

    12. I'm the same as you. I dress my (especially the female ones) in clothes I absolutely love but wouldn't feel comfortable enough with wearing outside because they are too extravagant or 'different'. I do already wear some different dresses, a bit more gothic themed etc. But there's just so many styles I love that I'd never get to wear in public, so I make my dolls wear it :3..

    13. Absolutely! They are so stylish, but I admit I enjoy the fashion on them more than I would on myself! :D

    14. When i get my doll they will be XD i will spoil that doll

    15. My doll is definitely better dressed then me. I normally wear a t-shirt and sweat pants. She wears cute dresses and various other adorable outfits that I'd be too nervous to go out in. But thankfully my doll just looks too cute in them. ^^

    16. No, but they definitely look better than me lol

    17. Haha absolutely, I like to commission for my boys fancy outfits since their handsomeness deserves it...lol. I also like fashion, so it is nice to own some haute couture inspired pieces in doll size. But for the more casual look, I may look better when I am in the mood for dressing up because I usually go beyond t-shirts, sneakers and jeans :)

    18. Definitely. I buy my own clothes from sales but just invested 500€ to clothes for my dolls.

    19. Yes! Although, it's probably stemming from me not wanting to put more effort in my daily get up. That said, it has encouraged me to look at getting myself better dressed.. at some point

    20. No, I dress casual & they do too so I would say our style is pretty much the same.
