1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. There's a great thread that talks about doll insurance on the forum already, check it out :) Is your doll insured?

    2. Don't know how it works in other countries, but in the Netherlands they are part of your 'inboedel' (= everything you own inside your house). Depending on the total amount you agreed on with the insurance company, collections are part of the whole. Unless we're talking about massive collections and values, it's not really necessary over here.

    3. Wow, that seems interesting... never thought about something like that! :o

    4. My dolls are included in my home owner's insurance. It makes the rate higher, but I consider it worth it.

    5. I am thinking about insurance them, but in my mind insurance agency will not think that this is art object... But who knows?

    6. I don't have any insurance on my dolls, though I really should.

    7. I have a special rider on our regular home-owner's insurance policy to cover my dolls and books, but I've definitely thought about getting an independent "Collectibles" policy as well. Those seem to be better about covering claims for replacement value.

    8. I've worked in homeowners insurance so since my dolls are part of my personal property they are automatically covered. If you're renting get renters insurance for your personal property and if living with family it's covered under their homeowners policy but check the limit you may want to increase as you buy dolls.
Your personal property includes everything you can take with you when you move.
Some carriers offer separate riders or you might need to look into specialty insurance for collectors items.
