1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Island Doll Discussion

1. Photodynamic, some sculpts do not have the option for tan. Tan resin is poured at the end of a molds life because it will stain any other casts afterward. Tan may marble and have sanding marks on the seams. There are many reasons why they might not offer it for the doll you want.
Still it can't hurt to ask.

2. My Amber head arrived, so here's some blank-face spam! She's so cute!

3. Thanks, SteamWitch! I wasn't aware how much trouble the tan resin could cause. I do like a lot of the other sculpts they offer, so I might lurk around on the site a bit more before deciding on a different one. I was hoping I could get Vivian in a dark tan, as she's super cute and works very well for one of my characters, but considering the character was originally pale as all heck maybe just their normal tan could work.. hmm..

4. Hey guys. Hope you don't mind me popping in for a bit. I may purchase the IslandDoll Norse Myth Loki in the near future and I was just wondering if anyone knows anything about their 73cm bodies? They look pretty beefy. :D Can't really find many owner photos though.

5. Shes a cutie yumeko-chan :)

I have a WindDoll Dove on order, cant wait to get him. Theres very few owner pictures of the different IS doll lines!
Id like to see some spam if anyone has some :aheartbea

6. Cydril Ooooooh, Dove and Noah are just my dream dolls at the moment, I cannot wait to see your Dove and what you do to see... definitely not enough love for those two!

7. Thanks rain_cloud, I've had my eye on dove for a while too. I went ahead now since they're having the summer sale :)
I hope he gets made soon

8. I have a Noah... it was super hard to find any owner pics at all, so I basically went from the company pics when making my decision, but I was not disappointed. Noah is an awesome sculpt. Mine is a girl.... I hybrided her onto a 5Stardoll girl body. I'm currently in the process of finishing her faceup.
I'll have to keep lurking this thread to see some pics of Dove, who I also love. And maybe other Noahs!

9. Does anyone have a Jonah? I did a search for him on DOA and didn't find any owner pics. I only found a couple of owner pics on other sites.

10. Hey, sorry if this has been asked, I skimmed the previous posts but didn't see anything. I really want the island doll hejin body but since its such a inbetween size I was wondering which head what sort of head I might look for it? A msd, or a yosd on the larger size?

11. @booksen, I imagine it would be hit and miss! For an in between body like that, both 6/7 and 7/8 heads could work, its more about the length of the head matching than the width, if that makes sense. (At least, that was my experience trying heads on the leekeworld art body.)

I got my Dove! Its been dark and raining so I dont have any great photos, but the dark tan resin is AMAZING. If anyone was on the fence about ordering, doo iiit;)

13. They look awesome @Janne !
I considered the sunburn skin, but I went with dark tan because it was discounted.

14. @Cydril - Your Dove is gorgeous. I hope you post pictures of his or her face-up too!
What kind of body did you get? I went with the genderless body, hoping it was shorter, but the legs are actually quite long.

15. I got the genderless body also. I like the look of it,except for the feet and ankles lol.
Do your guys have the company face ups?

16. I like the look of the genderless body too, but I agree about the feet. And the arms are less posable than I had hoped.
But I'm very happy with them.
They do have the company face-ups, although I darkened Dove's make-up a little and gave him dark eyelashes. He came with white eyelashes and very pale make up.

17. I'm glad I didn't get the company faceup then.it probably wouldn't have shown up on the dark tan at all!
Also, @SteamWitch (and anyone else wondering about island doll tan), the resin on this doll is flawless, it's totally amazing. I was so used to fairyland tan which is all wonky and sanded to hell; but there is not one seam line or sanding mark on him!

18. @Cydril that is good news about their tan resin, I might be getting a tan Island boy someday.

19. I got them through MintonCard, and they said the Island Doll artist does make make-up adjustments for the different skin tones, but even so I think you made a good decision!

Sunburned is a bit lighter than I thought it might be, a little lighter than Volks Sunlight, but the make-up coloration on mine is very similar to the make-up shown on the normal skin models.

I agree, the finish is lovely on them. No seam lines and a very nice finish.

20. I have Eric in snow white resin and asked for his faceup to be gray tones. I don't know if he would have been gray anyway but they didn't charge me extra for my request. I love his faceup but may change it since he is not the character I bought him to be.
This is how he looks right now.
