Also giving this thread a little nudge....just ordered a Yo-sd Jessie off of Featherfall. She was instock and I couldn't resist.....of course now I must look for things for her. I'm specifically looking for a wig that's one length, longish with a tiny bit of curl to it in a brown. Anyone have any suggestions for something that would fit? I've looked through Leekeworld but nothings caught my eye...
Hi Sirius! Congrats on getting Jessie, I think she's really cute! Ehm, I think Leekeworld is a good place to get lovely wigs, but if you can't find nice ones there... Have you tried Monique? They have a range of wigs in all sizes, lots of curly ones for old fashioned dolls, but also a couple of very nice ones suitable for a more modern BJD. I got my Cookie one of theirs and it's really good quality, soft and easy to style. Size 6-7" is a perfect fit. Also, you could try AngellStudio (just ordered my third BJD Leira there), Luts, Fairyland and the Denver Doll Emporium. I could probably find you some more suggestions if you still can't find any nice ones there, just let me know! By the way, Releaserain (both on their own website and on eBay) have a really good selection of YO-SD sized shoes, if you're looking for any. Especially those Converse-like ones, which look unbelievably cute on a Tiny doll.
Thank you so much for the info ^_^ I've been browsing through the sites you recomended...they are very nice. She finally arrived the other day...here's a picture of her!
Just placed an order for a Cookie with Junkyspot and I'm so so sooooooooooo excited I've been wanting one for ages and though ah what the heck why not treat myself I also want an Emily but couldn't quite justify that much of a treat
I was wondering if anyone has ordered direct from Island Doll's site. I'm considering Cassandra, but would like to get the extra hands set they have for their tinies. The only US distributor I know of is JunkySpot, and they don't do orders for extras.
@AwesomeNinjaPowers - Congratulations on ordering Cookie! She's beautiful, I'm sure you're gonna love her. I can't stop staring at mine! @ Ellanie - I've not placed a direct order with IslandDoll myself, but I've e-mailed them about an order several times (I was considering Amy). They answer quite quickly and if you ask them you can even place your order directly via e-mail if you find the website a bit complex. The adress is [email protected]. The rep is called Ivy and she's really nice!
Thanks for the insight! That makes me feel better if they are really good about direct ordering. (I prefer not to since my first order ever was rather stressful!) Any complaints about these kids when it comes to finding fitting things or how they pose?
I haven't really ordered any doll clothing from anywhere yet.....so I can't say about that...but I did find some Barbie clothing that fit. ^_^ I love that she's double jointed as the only other little ones I thought that were double jointed were littlefee's. Haven't had much of a chance to pose her and such yet....but no complaints so far.
I've fitted my Cookie with outfits from Nine9 Style, Releaserain and Dollzone. So far as I can see, all YO-SD sized clothing and shoes fit perfectly. As for posing, I love the versatility. My Cookie isn't even double jointed, but I find her far more flexible than my double jointed Fay (DollLeaves). She has one knee that gets a bit floppy, I'm guessing she will have to be restrung at some point, but I have her standing in a doll stand and it's really not a problem. I find that she stands much sturdier when wearing shoes, but this is probably a trait in all BJD's (I'm not that experienced yet).
Oh, and I forgot to mention: AngellStudio do double jointed tinies as well. You can upgrade to a senior body, which is the double jointed version. I don't know any other companies that do them, but you could probably find a thread on it somewhere on the forum.
Eeeeee my Cookie has shipped already Emory sure moves fast and is super nice as well, fingerscrossed she'll be here by the end of the week
DollZone, Asleep Eidolon, Dream of Doll, Impldoll, Luts, Iplehouse, Oceanmoon, DragonDoll, and DollMore Dear Doll are all double-jointed, Yo-SD range dolls. (And those are just the companies I can remember). It's not just Fairyland by any stretch! I think the fact that these kids fit YoSD clothing perfectly may have just sold me. I've been hunting a smiley girl that has a bunch of option hands, but she's a casual girl, so I need a lot of clothes options to find the stuff she would wear, and that is very cool!
My Cookie's nearly here she's somewhere over the ocean flying her way! Or she could be in the country as the tracking isn't brilliant about updating ^^;
@AwesomeNinjaPowers -Wow! They sure ship fast! I'm so happy for you! Do let us know when she gets there. Will you be doing a Box opening photoshoot? @ellanie - Good suggestions on the double jointed tinies! I'll probably want more tinies in the future as they're so completely adorable, so I'll be sure to give those a browse! Also, I'll soon post some pictures of my Cookie. She's a casual girl in leggings, cute little dress, hoodie and converse sneakers. I completely adore her. However, since the weather out here is so dark I can't seem to get any good shots. Hopefully I'll have more luck on saturday, which is my next day off.
Sirius53Black, At you very lovely girl! Lilia (IsLand Emily). At us is IsLnad Cassandra (it is necessary to photograph it...).
Awwww! Such a cutie! I might consider her in the future, she's much cutier than in the pictures on the IslandDoll website! I love that wig on her.
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! My Cookie arrived this morning! Her box is sitting on the desk next to me roll on 12 o'clock when I can get off work and open her up! @Weenie: Yep there will be a box opening
