1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Island Dolls Mini Discussion part 1

Oct 2, 2005

    1. Just thought I'd pop in here and say hello. My IslandDoll Ivy is on her way home, and I thought I'd connect with some other ID owners.

    2. She is quite tight but not so much that she would kick. I'd say 'comfortably tight'. But bear in mind that she has been fully sprayed with MSC and that gives an extra tooth to the joints, hence more stability. IslandDoll resin is very smooth so if you want her to hold her poses real solid it's advisable to spray some MSC in the joints and string her relatively tight - no need for full sueding though, so very little effort really

    3. I want to buy a Wallace but I hรฉsitate again if I want in "tan" or in "island" skin, I'm afraid, I don't want an orange or too dark skin. I take many times to think about my choice and it's so hard. I would like to see more photo of your dolls in tan skin please. :)

    4. I don't have any in Island skin (although I'd love to see some pictures of it).
My Lilith, Ariana is in tan skin. This picture shows her in natural light and I think it best represents her actual resin color.

    6. She's very beautiful! Thanks Guls207 for the picture! The tan is perfect like this!

    7. Thanks both of you! :D I'm really fond of this girl! :)

    8. Love your tan girl, Guls!
Here's a sample of Island skin in normal indoor light -- my Wallis, Jerrica:

    9. Thanks! That help me to choose the skin!
I love the outfit of your Jerrica. :)

    10. Your welcome -- glad I could help. Her outfit is a mix of pieces from Volks, Dollheart & Iplehouse; whatever fit her best. Love my Steampunk girl!:aheartbea

    11. Do you know if the clothes at Alice's collections fit well? I order a pants and short on this size for boy, I hope that fit.

    12. everyon'e doll pics are just awesome. i have a white crystal near the top of list to purchase. anyone have any crystal spam. thanks

    13. Hmm, does Island Doll offer the outfits separately? I'm eyeing Lilith's black dress!

    14. Unfortunately they don't :(
      I was eyeing Crystal's outfit myself. ;)

    15. Aww, bummer! :( I was practically nomming it on the screen too xD

    16. I was wondering, has anyone tried to pair up their 45cm girls with boys from other companies? I've tried with Volks (SDC) but it didn't seem right...the boys are supposedly 45cm but I think they measure at 44cm. My Lilith is at 45cm so they look a little...off to me. :sweat

I'm thinking 46-47cm boys with stylized features, that take 16mm eyes and 7 inch wigs would be best. Any suggestions?

    17. hey this may sound stupid however bear with me i thought i would post on here as im having a hard time finding wigs that fit my msd Amy a lot of people say 6-7 inch wig but those are usually 1/6 size dolls or yo-sd's do they fit better im worried about the fringe coming up to short ect

at the moment the wig she has is far to big it just falls off so i have to sort of pop it on and hope for the best she even has a wig cap on and this dont help i have considered taking the wig in a little with a stitch at the back but i worry it will lump out in an awkward way ???
