Island Dolls Mini Discussion part 1

I use 6/7 wigs on a lot of my MSD dolls that have smaller heads. Since the heads are smaller, the scale works out. I've never tried taking in a wig but I know many people do and it worked out for them. I just prefer to get the smaller wig.

 

So, thanks to guls207, I'm totally getting a tan Lilith after seeing that they don't change the make up color for the darker skin tone

I wish I could request that 41cm body with those perfect B-cup breasts The large chest body is out of the question, and the A-cup body is just "okay". I do prefer the taller 45cm size though. If I trusted myself I would get the large chest and sand it down to perfection...

 

Aaaw, did you try asking either IslandDoll or MintOnCard (their US dealer) if it's possible? They may be able to order the 2 pieces for you.

Lol and I really should take new pictures of my Lilith! She's always out and looking pretty but I never get around to photographing her more.

 

I immediately thought about requesting swapping the torsos, but then I noticed that the measurements are different. The 45cm body has a 6.5cm neck and a 13.5cm waist, whereas the 41cm body has a 6cm neck and a 13cm waist. So the taller body is also a little thicker than the shorter one. So not only can I not just put the 41cm torso on the 45cm body, but I can't just request the entire 41cm body either because the neck is too small for Lilith

 

Aaaw! In that case 'd say get the smaller bust. The IslandDoll resin doesn't look like it can handle sanding too well (unless you use very very very fine sandpaper or have a professional handle it).

My girl has the bigger boobs but when she's dressed, it's not too "chesty."

 

Oh yeah, and you're not supposed to sand tan resin anyway so...A-cup it is I guess. I sent Island Doll an e-mail about it just in case. I might be able to put her on the 41cm body, but I don't want her to look like a balloon on a stick.

The thing about the large chest is that I have two tan dolls on order right now, both with large breasts (Soul Kid Arina with N.L. Body and WithDoll Cynthia), so I feel I need some variety. I saw the photos of your girl and I think you're right, her chest looks great in clothes (like she is wearing a push-up bra), but I really hate that perfectly round American porn star look when these dolls are nude. Even as large and poke-your-eye-out perky the N.L. Body's chest is, it still looks a hell of a lot more natural than the one of the 41cm Island Dolls.

I generally prefer smaller breasts anyway, and I do like the A-cup, just not as much as that B-cup I doubt Island Doll would even bother to make a B-Cup variation for the 45cm doll since it's that much of a difference. I guess I should just be grateful that the body choices aren't like LoongSoul's MSDs...too big, WAY too big, and completely flat

I apologize for all my ranting, I still love Lilith! So, guls207, how bad were these..."zombie teeth"? That's the only thing I'm worried about!

What happened was the pink gloss on the lips got into the crevices of the teeth and looked really creepy! When I had her repainted (I wanted a darker look than the default) the artist was nice enough to paint the entire bit pure white. If you get the same thing with your doll, you can try to go in yourself with some white acrylic paint and a really thin brush and gloss on top (that's what I was going to do but since she was getting a new faceup anyway, I didn't bother).

 

Geez that sounds scary I'll probably end up painting over it like you said...it'll probably be a while before I get her though. I'm glad you all of us warning though! Is Lilith unpopular? It seems like Amy gets all the love around here...

 

I wouldn't say Lilith is unpopular...she was released about a year and a half ago (I ordered her just after she was released). I just don't think too many people have Island Dolls. Amy got a few special edition releases before any of the other girls were released so I just think she (Amy) got more publicity.

I really hope we get more Liliths here!

 

Ah, okay. I'm just a newbie after all I thought with Island Dolls being available at both The Junky Spot and Mint on Card they'd be more popular.

Oh wow, what a pretty Amy I don't know what it is but something in her company photos (standard version) puts me off. By "Royal" version do you mean "Special 2" version? If that's her factory face up it looks much nicer in your photos. Is that the Island skin tone?

I'm curious to see some dolls in Neutral Beige!

i also think the version 2 has a tad more rouge to her cheeks tho it may just be me

 

Hm... recently I'm interested in Island dolls. Anyone know about another company's matched resin with Island doll's resin? I'm thinking of making hybrid, but haven't decided yet.

 

I have a hybrid of an older Blue Fairy head on an Island Doll A-cup body... and before a little blushing she looked okay in moderate light, but in good lighting it was noticeable the head was darker, with some light blushing to match she looks fine and dandy.

 

I'd recommend other companies that use environmental or french resin if you want to make a hybrid. I think ringdoll might work but I'm not 100% sure.

If you want to use and Island doll head on a different body the difference won't be as bad because a faceup and wig will help a lot.

@guls207 I see, I've found some reference from flickr of Island doll owner and yes it's Island skin work with Ringdoll Normal. I'm glad Island skin also match with Doll Leaves Normal. Thank you for your information~

Hello, I was wondering which wigs and clothes fit the Island Doll Amy best. I will try to read through this thread but there are a lot of posts to go through and if someone knows that would be great.

I just got my doll a week ago and I named her Aditi. I got some very cool eyes for her and here she is with the new eyes below. Her eyes are from Safrin and are Eyeco Fantasy A214 and look almost like abalone, very pretty. But her default wig (I got the full set) is a tad large though it stays on fine with the silicone cap under it. But I'd like some other wig options and clothes options. She has pink skin by the way in case anyone is interested in that color. Sorry the pic is not great I took it with the flash. I'll try to get better ones soon.
