1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Junior Delf Discussion

Jul 1, 2009

    1. Ah, that picture does look a bit odd... ^_^; It reminds me of a photo I took recently of some green eyes on a patch of moss. >_> That aside, I like the colors of the wig and eyes! Is the wig heat-resistant? I know Luts makes a bunch of heat-resistant wigs, presumably so people can curl them. I'd still use pretty low heat, though... There may be more info about it in the workshop section.

Ah; I see; I was confused. ^_^; Normally I sew all my dolls' clothes (or my sister sews them), but I can't make the kind of punk-rock outfits this kid needs, like jeans... >_> So I'm making an exception and buying stuff for him.

    2. I'm not sure if the wig is heat-resistant... will have to check. I've done styling on cosplay wigs before, so BJD sized can't be that hard! xD I'm just trying to figure out how to arrangle the curls naturally, lol...

Actually, I'm sure you could make them jeans too! You'd just need a denim needle, which is a little more heavy-duty. :) Maybe cut up some old jeans of your own that don't quite fit/have wear in parts?

    3. Oh, that could work... There would be a lot of stitching involved, but it would be doable.
      Oh, and I asked my sister (she's studied this stuff a lot more than I have) and she said that even if the wig is heat-resistant, it might be better to get it wet, style it, and let it dry like that, because no one makes curling iron attachments that small. ^_^;

    4. That's what I was thinking too, haha. Especially since it's a mohair wig, I figure that as long as it dries it should be good. :)

*nod* If you're using a sewing machine, you can get those needles at any fabric store (or maybe even places like Walmart, if they still have a fabric section!) for about the same price as standard needles. ^^ If you're hand-sewing... well, colour me impressed. xD

    5. my finally finished summer 10 event head, yeeee, his name is milan....more pictures on flickr if you like ^^

    6. Oh wow, Milan is beautiful. <3 *runs off to Flickr~*

(Augh, my mum is so contradictory. >.< I mentioned ordering my boy soon and she went: "WHAT? Another doll!? Why?" But a week and a half ago, she was stroking my girl's hair and saying, "Oh, you really love this doll," and pretty much giving flat out approval to me ordering my future JDF! Not even like she's paying for it, it's 100% my earned money... xD)

    7. oh, wow, he's gorgeous! Makes me want to dig out my poor neglected floater and see what I can make of it...

    8. thank you both ^^ , I think it is a bit neglected sculpt, he was laying in a box for a long time, i started to lose hopes on him, but after his faceup and photo shoot I fell in love with him again.

starsOFcasi - how many bjd do you have? and who who did you order?

    9. malvina - Woooah, awesome! :D I'm so gland he ended up with you. :aheartbea

    10. malvina: I'm curious, is Milan head 1 or 2?

    11. Only one, which compared to the collections lots of people have here, is measly. xD

I'm looking at the JDF Nihal- he just doesn't seem to get enough love! :aheartbea
(Yay for working though, I'll have another $100 towards him after babysitting next week!)

    12. Wow, he looks pretty cool! I can see why you decided to keep him. ;)

    13. Eshu - thank you, glad you like him, poor thing, it's been awhile till he got a life ^^

      Nasa- he is no.2

starsOFcasi- oh, one is really not a lot, she should definitely get a company, I don't know nihal, i will check him out.

      Amet - thank you >_o

    14. The Nihal mold seems to have a bit more playful of a face than Terra (who I love as well! <3), and I'm very excited!

Malvina, I could understand my mum's objection if I had a larger collection already, or if she was the one paying for such an expensive doll- but I have been convinced for a long time that he's the mold for me, and I'm working hard to save. :) What's wrong with that?

    15. I hate to double post, but it's been a week, and I have exciting news...

Just ordered my JDF Nihal! :aheartbea:celebrate :bcupcake

    16. Yaaaaaay! *flings confetti*

    17. Congrats!!! You will have to pic spam us when he gets here! I don't think I've seen many owner pics of him which is too bad because he seems really cute. I'm a big fan of the under appreciated molds. We have quite a few of them in our doll family.

    18. Hello everybody. I hope this question has not been asked before, but would a Delf or a Senior Delf head fit well on a Junior Delf body? I really love the size of the Junior body because the character I want my next doll to be is supposed to be shorter than his boyfriend (whom my girlfriend owns and is a 62cm) But none of the Junior Delf sculpts are quite right for him, while a few of the Delf and Senior Delf sculpts would work nicely so I was wondering if I could mix them.

    19. the delf type will not match the junior delf, they don't have same color skins, I am not sure about the the neck part, if they work on the same system , I think the delf is the same as fairyland in color and body types...don't match the delf line with any other luts lines, they not suppose to work together.

about the senior delf - I have a JDF summer event head and a senior delf howl head, the JDF is a bit smaller in his facial features, but I don't have any of the bodies, I think it could work, maybe someone else can comment on that ^^

    20. Don't worry, I will! And possibly a long awaited trip to the fabric store will be arranged for tomorrow, so SEWING WILL COMMENCE! 8D

Alaia, wish I could help- my incoming JDF is my first from Luts, so I have no idea how to compare the others. >.< Sorry, and good luck!
