Junior Delf Discussion

Hey guys, jumping in with a question. I'm waiting on a Dreaming Terra, and I'm wondering if you guys can confirm or deny LUTS' claim that Delf clothes will fit him? The character used to be a Shiwoo and I'm wondering if I can use some of his old clothes or if I have to get him new ones. Thanks!

 

Amet- which type was the shiwoo, 1,2 or 3? Because type one clothes will probably be too big, but type 3 might be alright.

 

He was a Type 2, so somewhere in between. He has some drawstring pants I'm sure he can make do with, but some of his jeans might get iffy.

 

Harlequin-Elle: Okay! But forgive me if I start to ramble. For coherency's sake, I shall present it in list form:
~Yes, they have super cute bums. X3 No argument from me there.
~They've got these cute little dimples on their back.
~I'm weird, but I love his feet. The fact that he looks like his toenails need a trim is a little detail that I adore.
~On that note, his hands are super cute too. They're perfect for holding hands with his sister. ^^
~Cute bellybutton is cute. It just is.
~Actually, cute tummy is cute just in general.
~I just love their proportions. They're... softer, I guess you could say, without being childishly pudgy or short limbed.

As to the feet thing... eh. It doesn't really bug me. With a little fiddling he can keep his legs closer together instead of totally spreading them out (naughty boy), so I just let him sit how he wants, most of the time.

 

Hot glue sueding helps a good deal with the legs spreading issue. The feet also point better. I had purchased KIPS and put them in but that didn't help like the hot glue did. When the elastic relaxes a little he will hold that pose a bit better. I was able to get my Terra to hold it until I moved him.

 

Nasa- Haha thanks for that! Yes I agree with a good bit of what you said- they do have lovely soft proportions, and the look of the body is great for his character. I think the lower-torso joint is awesome- hipbones! I love hipbones. I found his hands too chubby so I switched them for some slender Dollmore eve ones. Also his feet kept weirding me out, and I finally worked out why! Because his middle toe is longer than his big toe! Tiny detail, but another doll has this and it freaks me out on him too! So I'll be getting some new feet for him, because he's going to be barefoot a lot.
Iris0110- I've restrung him, and found there's something a bit weird going on with his left knee-joint (left as in, left when you're looking at him). The hole is narrower at the edge, pinching the elastic and making the knee snap suddenly when bending. Does yours do this? I'm going to melt it and re-set it to fix the problem. He has very loose stringing at the moment so he can be floppy.
I'm also going to hack out that big lump of resin inside his torso so he can bend.

No neither of my boys do that. I will have to pull apart their knees and see if either of them have that. You will have to up date us on how that mod goes. I am really interested on how it changes the range of motion on the upper body. That really is my biggest complaint on the JDF body. Like Nasa I am absolutely in love with the aesthetic of this body, the hips especially. It fit two of my characters perfectly. However the torso seems stiff in many poses.

...He sort of modded himself tonight. That piece in the inner-torso that restricts their movement? Unglued. Now he SLUMPS HUZZAH!

Amet he is lovely!! So is the posing better now with the piece in the torso gone? I am seriously considering unstringing my boys and removing the piece. All the better if it is only glued in anyway.

I finally managed to hunt down a second Jr Delf event head 1. I am very excited to have him home. Right now he is borrowing a popo doll boy body. I am thinking I will buy him one of his own in the future, the resin match is good (this body belongs to my Wintery 09) and he is meant to be Killian's older brother. I like that he is a little taller. I'm just trying to see if I can get used to the face up he came with or if I need to wipe it and re-do it. I hate to wipe such a pretty face up but it is really feminine.

 

Very cool Iris! We need more love for that head! He's so underappreciated!

Wanted to say hello to everyone here- I'm really hoping to get a Junior Delf boy here soon! I think the Terra is beautiful, but I've really fallen for the Nihal... I figured that talking to others about these gorgeous dolls might help me ease my desire a little. ^^;

 

It makes a world of difference. He has a similar range of motion to my SDFs now, though his torso does gap a bit when he's pushed farther forward or his back arches. I don't really mind that for the huge change in his range of motion. This is what the piece looks like:

That is awesome! I'm going to go and claw at it now in the hopes it'll come off. Seriously, why do companies even bother with a random piece of resin that restricts movement without adding anything aesthetically anyway? >puts hacksaw away, gets fingernails out<

Someone on another forum was talking about how she wanted a Terra so I took this for her XD It's relevant, really!

Also, on totally different tangent, I discovered that Micheal's sells these American Girl ripoffs and some clothes for them, and that the soccer set they have actually fits Tohru fairly well. I'm severely tempted to go back and get the cheerleader set for sheer hilarity value <.<

 

Nasa Don't tell me that! I'll go buy Glaucus a stupid little girl outfit just because it's there. And then he'll come to life and kill me in my sleep.

Amet: Well, I have a friend making a nurse costume for mine, so when he kills me I'll come hang out with you in the afterlife ^^ And that wig. Is just gooorgeous. Is he a dreaming Terra? So purty.

 

I would like to ask which wig will fit. Is it a 8-9 inch size or 9-10 inch size wig?
Also, does a normal SD clothes fit JDF size doll? Because I need to buy it for my boy right now.
