1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Just when we thought 'this' BJD brand is expensive

    1. I don't consider a lot of dolls to really be out of reach in terms of price. They might be at the moment, but financial situations can change, and money can be saved up. When I got into the hobby the typical price for an msd sized doll was around $300 (blank) and sd sized around $500 (blank) -- I knew it was an expensive hobby, but I felt like what I was getting was worth it. There are some dolls that I do feel are more than I could probably afford in most situations, but they are very pricey -- we're not just talking about just a few hundred more.

I do think the OP brings up a good point though -- when you compare prices you do have to take into account what a doll does and doesn't come with. A basic doll that comes with a wig, faceup, glass eyes etc. is going to be more costly than one that comes without a faceup and has acrylic eyes. What looks less expensive on the outset isn't always once you begin factoring in other things that you need. The same goes with clothes too -- a more expensive outfit with lower shipping can easily end up being around the same price or even less than an inexpensive outfit with expensive overseas shipping.
