1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

keeping the original box?

Jul 23, 2019

    1. I've moved 12 times in the past 15 years. I always keep the boxes. I've been bad and haven't played with my dolls for years and years. They've been in their original boxes all this time. They're safe and I know they won't get lost.

    2. I still have the boxrs for my old dolls since they didn't come with a COA. They're also really usefull for storing doll stuff in. Much prettier than plastic boxes.

    4. in case people are still curious what I ended up doing after moving into the RV, I have used the boxes for storing thread, fabrics, and my cricut machine. I have used the pillows in the boxes to help pad my dolls when we move :)

    6. I have had WAY too many BJDs come through my house in the past 3 years I’ve been in the hobby to keep them all, so now unless it’s an artist doll, the box gets recycled. I just don’t have the room to store that many boxes. I do have some of my very first Minifee boxes stuff under my bed, but idk if I’ll keep them or not when I move with my fiancé in January, because there’s not much storage space here, either.

    7. I keep all my doll boxes.
They do take up a lot of space but I use them to store doll stuff and consider them to be important even though I am totally not planning on selling anyone. I would thus recommend keeping the boxes if at all possible, however, it is totally up to the individual collector whether they keep or toss the doll boxes.

    8. I store my dolls exclusively in their boxes. I really like the look of it.

    9. I personally keep the boxes, that way I can store them in the box if I need to. And I also store COAs, wigs, and outfits in the boxes.

    10. If it's an expensive doll and you might resell keep that and any paperwork. If it's not an expensive doll and the doll makers don't provide a COA I would not bother. I prefer my dolls have a carrying case to being in a box but people can be very anal about boxes and paperwork for the more expensive dolls.

    11. The original box currently stores a bunch of doll accessories fairly poorly. I will probably keep it around even if I move.

    12. I keep the boxes to safely store the dolls because I don’t have enough room to display them at the moment. I have 15 dolls so it’s not yet a problem.
Even if I did have display space I’d still keep the boxes in case any were to be sold in the distant future. (I won’t be around forever!:)) I imagine if I had a very large number of boxes, I’d store them inside each other.

    13. I keep the boxes, but that's because most of my dolls are from FairyLand and they have really nice boxes with padded insides! It'll be great if I ever move, and need something to put the dolls in. I feel so honored to have the dolls that I'm honored to get the boxes that came with them.
