Have either of you checked in the Spiritdoll thread and asked? I've heard that Spiritdoll can be a bit slow to answer questions.

 

Yep, dealing with them feels like "a leap of faith". I have two dolls on layaway with them and have never heard from them after five emails and four guest book entries. No proof that they got any of my payments other than my Pay Pal records. I am not canceling my order because it seems like everyone gets their dolls even without communication. As Cloudedmind said just check the spiritdoll thread, you are not alone! I was thinking about ordering a body from them for Edria too, but I am going to make sure I get my other two dolls first!

 

They're totally bad about replying to emails. But they're good about sending your dolls. Sometimes it takes longer than they originally say, which is not unusual for many doll companies. I've ordered from them several times and they've always come through. But don't hold your breath waiting for responses to emails!

Thank you for your replies. That helps. Like you derilan I am wondering about claiming back and leap of faith is exactly what it feels like. Those bodies are spectacular though but it is such a lot of money to not be able to monitor.

 

Tell me about it, I was all set to give my Edria a faceup, but I have been so worried about the body I paid for amoung other life unexpectancies (car needs to be fix) I was wondering if I should cancel. I don't think I will now.....I'll just wait and see when my body shows up.

What colors would be great to use for her faceup? I don't think I want to use bright colors, but I was thinking about some smokey eye makeup.

 

What about emeralds and peacock blues?

I am honestly kicking myself for not buying an Edria head, she's really beautiful. Keep telling us what bodies work and don't everybody! The resin matching thing seems so tricky, I'm afraid to do it! >_<;

 

It took me a while too before I was Ok ordering a head and searching for a match. I have seen so many that weren't perfect fixed with a little creative blushing. What I think did it for me is, I bought a second hand Dollstown/Soom hybrid that has a slightly off match but I love her so much I don't even see it anymore. I feel the same about Edria. The scuplt is so beautiful I really don't care if she isn't perfect (although I am pretty excited with how good everyones dolls are looking!)

 

Sooo I gave my Edria head a faceup today, and now since her body is officially paid for from Spirit Doll, all I need now is some eyelashes and eyes and a wig and she is all set. I hope to improve on my faceup's

 

That's not a bad face-up! You just have to work on making your lines more delicate -- you can use acrylic thinner to make them more subtle, and small brushes, for next time!

Has anyone else noticed the semi-translucent quality to LLT's resin? It's ALMOST like french resin, or like the love child between french resin and urethane.

Thanks for the tip Splynterhayde, I had no idea I could use the thinner like that!

 

I haven't done it myself, but that's what I was advised when I had the same problem! It makes lines more transparent, apparently.

with all of your pictures coming out, I'm really hoping they rerelease the head. I keep falling in love with her over and over again

 

I'm still up in the air with resin matching. I hope the people who ordered SpD bodies get their bodies soon. ^^; I'm terrible but I'm getting more an more antsy about the match. (Not that I can afford to buy my body yet anyway)

Has anyone compared their White Skin Edria to the Dollmore Normal Skin? It looks really pale and pinky in pictures? Their White Skin would be way too pale I think...

Though, I have a RS tiny in NS and he's darker than my Edria head, so perhaps the head isn't as dark in real life as in my head. I was just expecting a much whiter doll I think.

I have a problem: I was asking LLT, when they send my Edria head. They asked my data of transfer money to find my order. I wrote it, but they have not responded. I wrote 3 letters to LLT already (and 4 letter ten minutes ago). They ignore me two weeks already.

I'm very nervous. =(( What do you think, what is it? what should I do?

I've been looking around for resin matches for the last couple of days. PoPoDoll White might be an alright match for the Edria white as it almost matches a great many things and isn't paper white. Angelsdoll's has a Volks Matching White too for those looking for a girl body or a 70cm boy.
PoPoDoll is an alright matche for SpD too (at least in the picture I saw). Apparently Dollshe Fresh skin matches the PPD White rather amazingly. If anyone has a Dollshe/DollsTown Fresh Skin and the Edria white, I'd be much appreciative of a resin comparison?
I figure it's easier to ask for than the elusive PPD...
