Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. La Légende de Temps - Edria

Mar 23, 2011

    1. Cloudedmind I am glad you are going to give the 18yr body a try. I will look forward to pictures. What color is your Edria head and what Dollstown color will you order?

    2. I have a NS Edria head. I have an oriental dollshe body coming in sometime this year...hopefully.:| So if the colors match or are close then I'll get one in oriental skin.

    3. This is what I'm thinking of doing too...and yeah, I worry about the size!

My apologies to those whose images I've swiped to make this...

It makes me worry just enough that I might wait til your girl is home, Cloudedmind...I loooooove both the head and body but I really don't need another floating head and especially a body with no head.

    4. Yeah, I thought she looked good on the DT15 body, and I'm hoping that if the shoulder width on the DT18 body is the same or close to the DT15 body then there won't be a big problem.

    5. Just took the leap and ordered an Edria (open eyes vers.)! Gosh, I'm so excited now~
It's a pity the dark style faceup isn't being offered for the open-eyed head, since it actually comes very close to the look I want for her, but oh well ...

      I wonder how the normal and white resin colors will look for this batch. I'm contemplating a Feeple65 female body for my Edria, but I don't think I can commit to purchasing any kind of body until I can see the LLT normal skin in person and at least guesstimate the resin match. XD;

    6. So they changed the resin color of the heads? I hope not, I was contemplating on getting the Vampire head, the 1st Edria head I have here matches my body perfectly. Would hate for it not to match unless I did a lot of blushing to the head.

    7. I have not heard that they changed the color, but it is very inconsistent. MY Edria and my Roderich WS heads bought at the same time are two different colors. She is a little pinker. I have always wondered if they sent me one in NS? They are both quite light though.
Has anyone done a color match of the LLT WS with a Dollstown body? Which DT color do you guys think would be the best match?

    8. Right, I was referring to the variation in resin color between the batches corresponding to each order period (1st batch = late 2010, 2nd batch = mid-2011, etc.); these were the comparison photos LLT posted on their site:

1st batch tan, NS, and WS: http://lltdoll.weebly.com/uploads/3/4/3/1/3431996/1946638_orig.jpg
NS (1st batch) vs. NS (2nd batch) vs. WS: http://lltdoll.weebly.com/uploads/3/4/3/1/3431996/5424545_orig.jpg
NS (2nd batch) vs. WS (2nd batch): http://lltdoll.weebly.com/uploads/3/4/3/1/3431996/296285_orig.jpg

I think the general idea was that 1st batch NS was fairly close to Volks normal, while 2nd batch NS was lighter, pinker, and less easily distinguished from WS. And, as Lace Princess mentioned, there may be a little bit of variation within the same color from the same batch, unless there was a mixup in what color they sent, or if one of the heads was from the remainder of a previous batch.

For the present order period, if this picture - http://www.flickr.com/photos/juliacross/6163726815/in/photostream - is any indication, it looks like the color difference between NS and WS is back to being a bit more significant. Without more controlled lighting and more comparisons, though, it's hard to say whether the colors are skewing more pink or yellow or anything like that.

    9. I'm joining you! I for sure wanted the open eye head and ordered her, then thought the same as you about the vampire and ordered that one as well. But it will be fun to do a more dramatic faceup on the vampire head.

I still haven't found the absolute perfect shade of WS to go with my WS Edria. I thought DT fresh skin might work but it was a bit darker and more yellow.

I have a NS Roderich and he goes perfectly with Volks NS and also Dollshe Oriental.

I ordered a NS Edria for my open eye version and WS for the vampire version. So I'll be hunting and saving for bodies!

      Jay

    10. So glad you have joined us Jay! I am anxious to see what color the WS is this time. I still don't have a body for the first Edria. Maybe I am being too picky, or subconsciously I am waiting on the 18yr DT body. What do you think of that body for these girls?

    11. I managed to get in on the order, myself. It's a miracle! Ha ha! :daisy

If you guys want some Supia comparisons to LLT resin, I have some in my profile threads. There's some other resins there too, but it's listed as some kind of comparison thread and it's the only one, so I'm sure it'll help someone if they can find it. :)

My vampire Edria is to replace my original Edria. I'm going to put him on a Doll Chateau body and then airbrush him to be brick red, like my Soom Trachy.

    12. On a DC body and red all over? Gosh, that sounds awesome, I'm looking forward to seeing that! What's his faceup going to look like?

      I'm planning for my Edria to have a sort of classic 50's pinup girl look with a dash of red-haired femme fatale. So I'm really hoping the Feeple65 female body will work out, because I can't think of many other options that would fit the figure ... XD;

    13. I'm tempted to buy an Edria vampire head to do a character doll of Marshall Lee, from Adventure Time.

    14. Cloudedmind: Dare I ask, but who is that? I'd love to know!

meili-melee: Thank you! I thought the idea was fabulous, too! I've been having a hard time shelling out the character; I'd bought him as a Mister Wolf originally, but he needed a more androgynous and a slightly more...saintly/ethereal...look. I'd already purchased Edria at the same time, and knew he'd be either one or the other, but I'd always wished that my Edria had fangs and ears like Mister Wolf did...

And then my prayers were answered, ha ha ha! :)

My Edria is named Bedlam. He's the mother of monsters (my Trachy, Silt, is one of his spawn) and he is basically a force of nature to counter (and make miserable) mankind. Kind of like a really twisted pest-control, and he feeds off of (as his name would suggest) his victims' fear and sickness. He comes in dreams and basically, wears a person down until he can swallow them up from the outside. Then, once he's done that, he can often make them into more, lesser monsters. He's also an incredible deceiver, and a shapeshifter (the red form is one of undercore ones, and very close to how he really looks, if there is such a thing). Probably, honestly, some kind of pestilence, unseelie or demon, though I'm reluctant to say so because now-adays, we have certain notions of demons from anime and all that, and he's more like a biblical version, if anything.

His face-up will look something like Smile, by Lachlana, but without all the metal bits. He needs a wide mouth to (of course!) eat things.

    15. Oh! I like that. :3 Reminds me of my Lux with his green blushing and elf ears. I've never seen the cartoon, but now I'll have to. What's it about? xD I just don't watch television!

    16. @Cloudedmind: I can totally see the vampire Edria sculpt pulling off a fantastic Marshall Lee look, especially after I did a Google image search and saw this and this artistic interpretation of the character, haha.

@Splynterhayde: (I adore your Lux! He's one of the most unique Supia Linas I've seen on DoA. [/sidetracked]) Haha, isn't it fabulous how perfectly LLT seemed to read your mind? "Pointed ears and fangs, coming right up!" Bedlam sounds like a fascinating entity, albeit one I'd feel safest admiring from a distance. XD Have you read any of the Sandman comics by Neil Gaiman? I can imagine that Bedlam and the Corinthian would either get along very well, or form a rather ominous professional rivalry.

So far, the name I'm favoring for my Edria is Genevieve, though her other name/title that discreetly travels via word-of-mouth is Mercedes -- "the Lady of Mercy." She's got the Mysterious Employer+Chessmaster thing down to an art, and she's pretty much pulling the strings behind the plot surrounding at least four of the characters in my current resin family (most likely more) with her seemingly unlimited resources of unknown origin, absolutely no apparent social/moral agenda other than her own whim, and a peculiar perspective of time and space that's definitely venturing into the territory of narratorial omniscience.
... In short, she's going to rule the roost when she arrives, haha.

    17. The short answer two adventurers, a boy and a dog, that protect the inhabitants of the Land of Ooooooooo.

That is actually one of the pictures that got me thinking about it as well.

And I have a character like that as well. Not sure what sculpt or who exactly they are yet. Just a vague shadow of a person right now.

And Genevieve is a lovely name. I named my Edria Nicasia.

    18. Cloudedmind: That's cute! And I especially agree now that I've seen that less cartoon-like picture of Lee! Very nice looking boy. I wish I could have more creative fun with mine (as in, liberty to make him cute. Edria is such a gorgeous headsculpt, and I have to well, ruin it.) and I'm dying to see what you'd do with yours!

melee~: Aw, thank you! Lux is my favourite doll; I've had a lot of dolls over the years, but even now, he's surpassed all of my others in terms of endearment. When I first entered the hobby, there was much less selection in sculpts, companies, and especially body types, so as I went on with my one doll wonder (I still like to think of myself as a one doll kind of guy, even though now, I have lots of them), I slowly grew disenchanted with what I had because an SD13 looks in no way like a detailed 30 year old man. But, Lux has enough detail in him, and I've seen enough change by now that I don't think the same thing will happen. He'll always look like a shrimpy fifteen-seventeen year old ghost boy to me. :aheartbea

(That's also unfortunate, because Bedlam is actually Lu's main antagonist -- though he has several in his first chronicle - and is quite the chessmaster himself. He emerges as a major villain in the later books, and sadly for Lux, Bedlam is a major gourmet of ghosts. They're easier to eat than people who are alive, and since Lux is a special kind of ghost, he definitely wets B's palette, so to speak.)

I've never read Sandman, but I actually think I should, now, because everyone is telling me to read it! The Corinthian sounds also incredibly cool, and like a very god professional rival for B. Thanks for the recommendation! ;)

I like the sound of your Edria, and I loooove the name Mercedes, so I'll be one of those people spreading around that name by word of mouth. She sounds deliciously devious! Do you have a visual concept for her?

(She also sounds like she could be a very good rival for B, since she has that time thing going on. ;).)

    19. For those of you wondering about the EID body, here are Edria and Jessica's heads for comparison. Hope this is a help.
