La Légende de Temps - Edria

Mar 23, 2011

    1. [IMG]

The Spiritdoll body is here! It's quite, quite lovely and as far as I am concerned, it is a perfect fit for Edria. The neck is *exactly* the right size and the head has a lot of movement (quite different from my Roderich, who can't look up :P...).

However - I'd give the resin match 85%. That is much less than I expected, to be honest. I don't know whether this is due to a difference between batches... In any case, Edria is a little pinker than Spiritdoll Normal. But the greatest difference is probably in the resin quality. Spiritdoll's, though excellent, is quite solid, whereas LLT resin has a kind of transparency to it - it is that transparency that makes it the loveliest resin I have ever seen or held, but I have never seen it anywhere else! I wouldn't know if there is any company that can match it.

So this is Kundry! In the meantime she has a face-up too, but it was already dark when I finished it, so I haven't been able to take photos yet.

In any case, I have to say -:aheartbea. I am so, so happy that I decided in favour of Edria. And working with her... I am beginning to suspect that I will have to buy any LLT dolls I can get my hands on. They are just... Just... *sigh*

    2. She looks really lovely on the Proud girl body, I had to blush my Edria head very little for it to match perfectly for my Elegance body.

    3. She is lovely on the Spirit Doll body! What color are both of them? I still need a body for my head!

    4. what is the difference between crowned cat and edria open eyed?

    5. Wow beautiful!

    6. Bridget>> Well the Crowned Cat one is more like 'little/young' Edria. It's got larger eyes and a more youthful expression, whereas regular OE Edria has smaller eyes (in proportion to the rest of her features) and a more mature expression. :3 I'm not sure if there's a head-size difference or not.

    7. I don't think there is a difference in head size.

This is what is listed on the LLT website for both heads:
      head circumference =22cm
      neck opening size = 9.5cm
      wig : 8-9"
eye sizes: 12mm/14mm (For regular edria head)
eye size: 14 mm (For crowned cat edria)

    8. Same here. I don't really know why, but I'm pretty sure I'm going to buy them. (what!?!)

Btw, your girl is already beautiful even without face up. :)

    9. I'm wondering whether or not to change me Edria to a Crowned Cat version. :( Because I'm having difficulty with finding her a body that I like that's the correct size... I figure a less adult head could pull off a slight bobble-headedness better than a mature sculpt.

    10. Me in the other hand worry that the body I buy for my little Edria (in the future) might be too mature to fit her youthful profile.

    11. Good news! My crowned cat edria will be shipped out next week (11/20)! I will be able to post photos of her on a dollstown elf body and a supiadoll 63 cm body very soon. This might help you both in your decisions.

    12. I don't know if this is of any help/use, but here's a photo of my Little Edria besides my Dollgru #12 head.
Now, I haven't seen a normal Edria irl, but a Little Edria definitely has a more young face.

Also here's a resin comparison of all the resin I currently have at home. ^^
I currently don't own any girl bodies, but I'll visit a friend next week who has 6 girl bodies and I might bring along my Edria so I can take a lot of comparison photos.

    13. Sigune, she already looks amazing, I'm really looking forward to seeing how Kundry will look once completed. And I know exactly what you mean about both LLT's gorgeous resin quality and wanting to own pretty much every LLT sculpt, haha. If only they would release Ludwig soon -- just take my money already!

    14. Wow! Thanks for the great photos Chazzi! Little Edria is gorgeous! I am so glad I ordered her. The NS resin looks really pale. I hope the white isn't too light.

    15. Thank you for your kind words, everyone!

meili-melee, I'm glad to say that you were right all along: I should never have doubted that Edria would make a great Kundry :). Like my Roderich, she changes expression depending on the angle at which you photograph her. I worried that the sculpt was too gentle, but she can certainly do haughty very well!

Sadly, my face-up skills aren't really up to scratch :/. I'm happy with how her mouth looks, but I totally botched the eyes. I shouldn't have tried to do a line - I'm so bad at eye lines. Plus, the eyebrows came out orange-ish for some reason (despite the fact that I used ochre yellow) and somehow I couldn't glue in the eyelashes in such a way that you can see her eyes. *sigh* I love doing my own face-ups, but I wish I were better at it. *cries*

Oh, LLT...! Now I'm thinking I won't be able to pass by Ludwig, even though I don't really have a character for him. But to imagine a *complete doll* from Julia's hand... It's too much! XD

nancy_schroeder_ca, both body and head are 'Normal'. Spiritdoll and LLT only offer WS or Normal, so no need to worry about whether you should get normal yellow or normal pink :).

    16. Ooh, I love how you did her lips too, Sigune - lush in color, yet emphasizing her cold, imperious expression. (And hey, the good part about doing her faceup yourself is that you can eventually redo it to tweak the bits you're not 100% satisfied with! Lighter blond eyebrows are especially difficult to pull off on paler resin tones; what I've seen in a few examples that might work is to make the base color a mixture of cool grey and very light brown, which is then accented on top with thin brushstrokes of white. Something like this, maybe?)

If I may ask, where did you get those pale blond eyelashes for her? I've been looking high and low for something like them, but with no success so far.

What I love about Edria is how effortlessly she can adapt to looking gentle and serene, or dangerous and proud, and just about everything in between. I hadn't been 100% sure either about how well-suited the sculpt would be to my mental image of Genevieve, but now, I absolutely cannot picture her with any other sculpt.

    17. meili-melee, honestly, I can't get over how amazing Edria is. It's strange that even though Julia has very good and beautiful photos of her sculpts, and by creating different looks for them shows how versatile they are, I still managed to have doubts before the head actually arrived. Somehow, also, I thought that Gawain's (Roderich's) variety of expressions was particular to his sculpt - I didn't really think that Edria would be like that too. But clearly, it's Julia's skill that does it. LLT seriously has the finest heads, both in resin quality and sculpting, that I have ever seen. - Of course, I am now wondering whether I shouldn't get an open-eyed head for Kundry as well ;)...

As far as the pale blond eyelashes are concerned, I have good news and bad. The bad news: these particular ones I bought at a bear & doll fair and they have no brand. I jumped on them because, like you, I had experienced some difficulty finding blond lashes. Sadly, I don't know where to point you for these (they are the string type). The good news: Monique sells quite a few of their eyelashes (per pair) in blond. I know this because the lashes I bought for Gawain also exist in a blond version - his own are auburn, not a colour you find easily either. I bought mine through Winddolls, a French dealer, which I suppose is not very useful for you, but I'm linking you to the sales page so you can have a look at the types on offer. If you click through to the product-specific page, there is a dropdown that shows you which colours are available.

Thank you for the tip about the eyebrow colour! I felt a bit silly because I have had this 'orange effect' before with my Florie, so this time I used a different paint - only to produce the same effect! O_o But indeed, as you say, I can always correct or re-do the face-up. Next time, I'll take your advice for the colour :).

Argh, Genevieve's look is brilliant... That Feeple65 body has very beautiful shoulders, and I just adore her wig. Mohair is my favourite wig material, but Kundry has very straight hair which ruled that out immediately :/.

    18. Hi everyone XD seems it's rare to see Edria as boy here?

Dio(Edria open eye Normal) is on Spiritdoll Proud Boy body
I think they match very well (I don't mean the skin color) ,the neck is too short to me when Edria is on SDF boy body,I love tall boys XD

      And another pic:

btw in my opinion ,2012's Luts real skin normal is quite close to LLT's normal (okay I knew that 2013 is coming...)
I can take some photo later if somebody interested.
So I think Luts' SSDF body will be a nice choice if people love tall boys like me ^^
I'm saving for SSDF body for my other boys too, and I will take some pic when I get it.
Oh Edria is really changeable! I want a little Edria if I could XP

    19. nungmyo>> Oh, it's wonderful to see your Edria boy!! :D I was going to make mine a girl, but those plans got scrapped. Ever since then, I've been toying with the idea of making mine a boy, since I do love my big boys. :3 It's really nice to see yours!! ^u^

    20. nungmyo Your Dio is absolutely gorgeous! Can't stop staring at him! I never thought that Edria can be such a lovely boy, congrats!
