The toreador display she created for the show was stunning! I'm continuously impressed by her seemingly boundless skill set.

7/12/21 Edit for update: my box tracks through "17track" as: "airlines receive it" on 6/26/21 in Beijing, and then zero, zip, nada movement. i know things are still affected globally, but i am still concerned, as most items have been on the move again faster than that. is anyone else seeing movement?

 

Hello! How are everyone's new arrivals coming along?

I received my Neil 2 days ago and he came with the foot bar in one of his feet dislodged... I did a live box opening and he fell apart in my hands when I lifted him out of the box! You can watch it here.

I've emailed LLT about this yesterday but am still waiting on a response. Does anyone have any tips on how to fix his foot? I tried putting epoxy around the bar, but that did not work... I've been told that I'm going to have to drill a hole through the foot to fit the bar properly.

 

@kagami I think the right thing for LLT to do would be to send you a replacement foot since this one is obviously faulty?
And yes, I don't think it's fixable without drilling through the ankle at least on one side and inserting a new bar (if this one's bent), or the old one if it's still intact. Good luck, and beautiful boy!

 

Holy cow that must have been quite a surprise! I'm happy the resin was okay, though, so hopefully a replacement feet will fix things.

I got my Roderich like a week ago (?), painted him and gave him the only things I have for him: a wig, eyes and a rosary. I have commissioned Loverofroses for a priest outfit for him, but until that arrives, he's pretty much going to be naked. When I got him, I was certain the head's not doing it for me, because it was very boyish, but after painting him I'm willing to give it a fair chance.

 

@vauhtikatti - Oh he is amazing! I love his wig...and everything.

 

@luluna thank you! Wig is about all he's got at the moment to love in addition to himself, but uh, I hope to change that soon-ish.

 

@vauhtikatti He's gorgeous! I love the way you painted him. Makes me want to see my Roderich even more, but his tracking died on June 26.

Bleh. I don't mind the long wait in theory, but in actuality I am just imagining all of the horrible things that can happen to a box that takes weeks to arrive. I hope that all of his pieces are still in one piece. Anyone else's doll still stuck in limbo, or am I the only lucky one?

 

@celga - me too. mine says "the airlines receive it" 6/26, and then, nothing.... it's funny the tracking was saying something about insufficient services, towards the beginning where they logged receipt at the local station. maybe with the current uptick in covid cases? but now those notes are gone from the tracking details. i should have done a screen shot earlier. perhaps it means they will move soon....

and @vauhtikatti - he's just beautiful, your faceup is so appealing, i can't wait to see your vision for him. and those gloves look phenomenal with that rosary just they way he is, accidentally boudoir style -smirk-

@celga @Grimalkin thank you! Hope a safe arrival for all the Rodis, too! I was on the edge about getting the OE Tan one so excited to see what people do with theirs. Julia accidentally added one tan boy to my order at billing stage and I did for a second think that what if I just pay for him too and call it fate, but in the end didn't have the guts.

 

@Grimalkin I'm really sorry to hear that your guy fell off of the tracking, too, but more than one person in the same situation gives a glimmer of hope that it's just part of the 'new normal', and our boys will be coming home eventually. China post has always been pretty poor, but this seems a bit extreme...

 

I asked our fearless creators at LLT what they thought as sometimes the shipper gets more info, and they were so kind to respond that the consignment schedule for China to US is experiencing flight changes. it was very nice of them to check on it for me, as i was concerned it made it over and was lost in USPS-7th-level-of-postal-heck. it's weird to feel relieved it was actually where the tracking said it was. so either flights are full up, or cancelled and waiting for another outbound flight, or possibly combo shot of both, slowing everything down again.

i also have a 2nd hand very special doll that is off-topic for this thread stuck in the UK. i'm going to just have stumps left after gnawing down my fingers. i've been pretty lucky through this whole thing with only a couple of bumps so i guess my time is up my number got drawn.

i hope everyone's boys are coming home soon too

 

I'm not waiting for an LLT doll but I have had several doll orders shipped to me from China during the pandemic, and they've all taken close to a month or more to get to me. Even the ones I had shipped using EMS.
