La Légende de Temps - Roderich & Vincent

Sep 13, 2010

    1. Let's see who gets it first, since we are both living in Europe XD

I'm curious about how the tan looks in person. For now I thought about getting an Angell-Studio body, and if the color won't fit I can still ask AS to change it. However, we'll see X3

    2. *facepalm* Oh dear, so many people who ordered WS are getting NS. I actually ordered NS, so I wonder if I'll get WS instead. At least then we could just trade. >.>;;

Thanks again to those who've posted pictures! A small question - in the photos, the LLT normal resin looks pinker than the Volks pureskin normal. Is it also somewhat pinker in person? I'm trying to determine the appropriate resin match with Loongsoul resin: http://www.mintoncardinc.com/IMAGES/LARGE/IHMFAHYHLSandVolks.png

While the LS normal yellow looks like the most ideal match with Volks normal according to the resin comparison photo provided by the company, I'm starting to wonder if the normal pink resin might be a better match with LLT's normal resin, especially taking into account pink/flesh-toned blushing in the head's future faceup.

    3. Somehow I'm now expecting to receive a WS while I ordered a NS>.> I'm not very impressed with this company so far, which is too bad=_=. So, if so many people end up with the wrong color and have to trade amongst themselves, are we all going to demand the extra shipping back from LLT?

    4. Miho got back to me surprisingly swiftly. I have been given three options:

      1. we fully refund the shipping fee ($21), you can keep the Roderich head in NS.
      2. we fully refund the total cost (head+shipping)+ shipping fee back to China , you will send it back.
      3. Ship the NS head back (we will pay for the shipping) and we will send the replacement (white skin tone) after the X'mas period (we need to reorder form the factory).

I'm certainly not going to take option 2. :? This is the third time I've had this happen to me this year though and it's starting to sour things for me; I might just suck it up and keep the NS heads. Kinda depends on which color is a better match for any Dollshe resin. Does anyone who actually got a white head have Dollshe (or Dollstown) paleskin or freshskin to which they could compare it?

The LLT normal is really close to Volks in person (in artificial light) not sure about daylight since I haven't been home while it's actually light out. I agree that it's definitely easier to make a yellow-toned head match a pink-toned body than it is to do the reverse, which is why I'm thinking it will be easier to blush these heads to match the slightly pinker Dollshe orientalskin than it would be to match the paleskin to a pink white head. If the LLT white is closer to freshskin, then I'd definitely want the white instead. UGH. So frustrating. How can a person who does business on the internet not know how to use a simple spreadsheet to track orders???

    5. Miho sent me the same thing. >w<; I decided to go with option one. I'll just..look for good matches to the NS. ^^;

    6. at least they're responding quickly and taking responsibility for their errors!

    7. Thanks for the info, St. James. I can definitely understand your frustration. :\ Seeing as these were period- and quantity-limited releases, there's even less reason that the volume of orders could cause this much of a mix-up, language barrier or no language barrier. (And come on, "normal" vs. "white"? Shouldn't be that hard to keep track of, especially since they're the ones offering these as their standard resin colors.) Beautiful as the sculpts are, everything else on LLT's end has been woefully disorganized so far.

    8. Some comparison pics for your information:

Both pics taken in natural light, no PS correction.

Comparison with LUTS Senior Delf boy 2 type (62,5 cm, real skin normal, 2009):

Nice match regarding both color and proportions. Head and neck fits perfectly, minimal gap.

Comparison with Spirit Doll Proud boy body type 2 (70 cm, normal skin, 2010):

Another nice match. Colors are almost identical, pleasant proportions for a masculine character. Neck fits perfectly with no gap at all.

      With hooks:

I think of an Infiniti SID (65 cm) body for him since its color and proportions are similar. ^^

    9. I'm sorry for those who recieved a wong color or wrong order. ;_; (hugs) It seems the company lacks of experience and they should have hired someone to take care of the orders, they seem to have been overwhelmed. Thanks God they are offering several refund options.

fujimiya_aya > thanks so much for the excellent & useful pictures. I'm relieved about the neck gap, he looks perfect on the Spririt doll body.

    10. wow! thanks so much fujimiya_aya! great and very helpful comparisons!

    11. Seconding thanks to fujimiya_aya for the comparisions....very clear and detailed photos are much appreciated!

    12. Little question:
What's included in the lil' package? Eyes and a certificate?

And do they mark the packages down? My customs always complains about this, even though I handle them the right bill with the correct amount *_*

    13. Thanks for the awesome photos fujimiya_aya!

Since I'm 90% sure I'm keeping the NS heads I tried one of them on a couple of bodies. Here's Roderich on a NS Super Gem body. It's got default blushing from a couple of years ago so it looks a touch more peachy than it would be. Granted, Soom NS is totally different from batch to batch, so who knows. Roderich has a pretty long face, so I don't find the proportions ideal here. I think he definitely needs a 70cm body.
      [IMG][IMG]

I couldn't try the head on my old Dollshe body because I didn't want to completely unstring the body to remove the resin head key, but the fit looks to be perfect. This is a shot of Roderich next to a head that was made specifically to fit the old Dollshe body. Hard to tell, but the depth and diameter of the neck hole is virtually the same.
Since the redesigned Dollshe Pure body is supposed to be compatible with old Dollshe heads, this is a good sign!

I then tried the head on my orientalskin Dollshe DSAM32. I did modify the neck a great deal to fit a Volks SD17 head, but the resin match is close enough that blushing the head to match wouldn't be hard. I think the overall proportions look great, but this is a really specialized option what with it requiring modification and hard-to-find clothing.

      With a freshskin hand also:

In person the Dollshe orientalskin resin has a darker/pinker undertone but I don't think this will be apparent once the head is painted.

    14. Thank you so much, fujimiya_aya! Your information and comparisons are very detailed :D It's great to know that Infiniti SID would be suitable since I think I will use this body >w<

Also thank you St.James for photo too :D I think he's look to be a well match with Dollshe than I've ever imagined OwO It'quite frustrated for you and poochiness to get the wrong color resin D: They seem to did mess up a lot.

However, LLT shipped the 2 Roderich missing heads for caninegirl and me, which is a good news we don't need to wait so long. Hope it will arrive very soon. ^^

    15. Oh gosh, still nothing from them on my end. I'm thinking of sending off another email, because it seems like they've been responding to things since I sent the first one. I'm really worried, and just not quite sure what to do.

    16. *sigh* I resisted the sales because I didn't want another floating head but I guess at the minute I will see StJames custom I will regret it. (thx for the pics! ^^)

    17. It really sucks that so much of this is going wrong for so many people. I got my Vincent head, and now that he's comfortably resting on my restrung RS 70 body, I'm really rather happy with him. The match is still off since the RS is much pinker, but truthfully, with the faceup and wig on, it's nearly impossible to tell anyway.

I got the sculpt I've been looking for for nearly 4 years now. After I sanded down his chin a little and opened his eyes, he's absolutely perfect, and I couldn't ask for better. I know that doesn't make up for the shoddy service stories that have met this thread in the slightest, but I guess I just wanted to say something because it hasn't been all bad.

For those who want to see my boy:

    18. It's true we've always had the same taste in dolls, Algesiras. :D Since they'll have to reorder some Roderich heads next month, maybe you can get one then.

After vacillating over this, we've decided to compromise and keep the NS heads. Neither of us are entirely happy about it, but not being able to guarantee a white resin match to the bodies we want to get them (while they're still on sale and we can actually afford two!), means that keeping them will be a lot less of a hassle. Meh.
I did give Miho a little feedback on how to improve customer sentiment when I asked for a refund. It's really unfortunate that the shipping errors are overwhelming this discussion when the dolls themselves are so lovely. There's just no reasonable excuse...

    19. Well... I received a package today, open it up and what do I see? The completely wrong head. :|
I ordered a Vincent head (Who was only available in WS.) and got a NS Roderich head. (At least I think it's NS, it doesn't look too pale to me.) I'm sending it back for a Vincent head as soon as they've replied to an e-mail I'm about to send.
I did kinda expect this, though. *Sigh*

Anyway, before I packaged him up again I took some comparison pictures with my Crobidoll MSD (Whom I bought this year, not too long ago):

Looks pretty good, actually, although excuse the not-so-good picture quality. :sweat
The Crobidoll resin is a bit yellower and paler, but it's not too noticeable. And I don't have an SD to try him on, so this'll do, I guess.

    20. @fujimiya_aya: Those pictures are exactly what I needed. Thank you! It's great to know that the Spiritdoll body suits him.

I'm sorry to hear about all the problems with this company. ;_; I was going to wait for the next ordering period to get my Roderich, but now I'm not sure I would order directly from the them now.
