1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

~~**Ladysaiyuki's professionally casted Ted and Hanyuu **~~

Dec 29, 2007

    1. Wow, I can't wait to see your two new heads and super special secret new body!!! :)

    2. Super secret? What did I miss!!! Can't wait for my Hanyuu!

    3. Here you go...

    4. LadySaiyuki - When you get a chance, could you please post Ted's foot and chest measurements in the Tiny Size Chart thread (sticky thread near the top of Tinies), and post Hannyu's measurements if they are different from Teds? Thanks!

      Carolyn

    5. OoO thanks DiSpy, color me guilty of not reading carefully! I will always be a fan of Natalie's creations, I'm also eager to see what she comes up with. Carolyn, I can take measurements of Ted if it's OK. Done! Let me know if I screwed anything up.

I know this thread is for the professionally casted Teds and Hanyuus, but for any of us who have the artist casted Teds, this thread may be of interest :

Member Funny Lori does head cap magnetization for any doll. I have a few that really need to see her for a visit. I just don't know how I'm going to send Brooklyn (my Red Ted) anywhere!

    6. Not that it's on topic or anything, but the artist-cast thread was closed for some reason.

Has anyone tried bevelling their Ted's eyewells? I don't have ANY half-flat eyes like the ones that came with mine, and I want to change their eyes. Normal acrylics and glass simply don't fit. I can't even squish 14mm silicone Sooms in there, they look wrong. Any suggestions? ^_^

    7. I have had really good luck with larger sized (like 16) glass eyes, the kind with the knobs on back. All mine came from Ginarolo. Also I put some flat back Masterpiece eyes in a size 11 I think in sgtgeorgecarter's Black Ted and they look great. Will post picture later, Brooklyn is right now a very unwilling model for an outfit I am making.

    8. I made my artist cast eye wells larger, so that they could fit different eyes. I also brought the eye settings inward, so that the eyes didnt have such a large gap between the outside of the resin and the inside.

As for the closing of the artist thread, That was done because Nat is no longer producing artist dolls. I guess the forums figured that we could chat about our Art dolls in the Artist forums. :( Pity, but understandable.

    9. Soshi, I'd be very interested to know how you did that. I'm a little nervous about doing so since Deva is the misdyed "red" Ted and so he's extra-special...I don't want to screw anything up!

    10. My Ted's eye's have that large gap too, how did you fix it?

    11. Nat still has "artist made" Teds left to sell. That thread was closed arbitrarily.

    12. Ophelia, I am so glad you got purpley Ted! He's so sweet! He was the one that was going to be mine, I'm happy he went to a good home.

    13. Stella, I was the first one to jump and say "If she doesn't want him then *I* do!" so that's how I got him. I must admit I held my breath and silently begged fate to tell you to choose your Brooklyn *grin* Purple Ted's name is Deva and he's a very grumpy demon who does not enjoy the present body he's stuck in because it's too "cute" *grin* Given the sweetness-and-light-personified of my whiteskin Ted, Ayomide, they make a great pair. XD

    14. I'll post up some pics tomorrow about the modding i did. Essentially, I took an exacto, a dish scrubbie (i'll post a pic of it) and a lot of time later, took out the gap. It looks great, and I'm very happy I did it. It also gives my Moo a better character, one which I didnt expect. I'm very happy with the results.

    15. Okies... Here is a ROUGH face-up. The doll still needs some sanding, tinkering, and is, as it should be, a little rough around the edges. But as you can see, the eyes are much more round.
      Here is LS's original

      Here is My modded
      [IMG]
As you can see, the eye has been opened quite a bit, Giving the doll a softer look. (You can also see the air bubbles in the nose and lip :()
Now... This is the stuff i used to mod the doll. Its used for scrubbing pots, but is still like plastic. It was perfect!

Well, that's all i've got to show ya! Hope you like it.
I still have to get the wig just right, and the doll is still naked, which makes me sad, but i've got work to do :) I'm going to put shine on the doll's lips and finish its faceup!:aheartbea

    16. Oh, you opened the eyes. I just want to bevel out the eye walls a bit so they fit round eyes, I don't actually want to change the shape of what you see. Is that possible? I also have no way of sanding Deva on the outside, because I can see where LS *tried* and...fun designs, lol ^^;;;;; I can sand Ayo though, since he's whiteskin.

As for dress, dependent upon the MSD clothes, they can wear them...Ayo is presently in a Dollmore Rosee Asha dress that has been laced up the front as tight as it will go and it fits him fine. Deva is wearing a BJD Rev shirt for MSD in this pic but has since changed to a shirt I tried to make for a DoC. His pants are Teen Trends, lol! Very scrunchy, of course.

      Here they are:

    17. OH OKAY! I did do the eye wells, but I didnt take a pic of it. Again, I used very soft scrubbies. It took a long time, but I was able to smooth out the inside of the eye wells to ensure that the eyes fit. >< sorry!

    18. Ophelia that is such a cute story! Good for purple Ted!
Here is Brooklyn with his buddy, who belongs to sgtgeorgecarter. Mysteriously he showed up here, so I gave him a little faceup attention.
Excuse the rough photos, it's mainly to show the affore mentioned eyes.

    19. Actually, that looks really great... but I don't want to mod the eyes of my Ted, just do like OpheliaB said and make them fit the eyes better. Also, it's hard to explain but when you look at Ted from an angle, you can see a gap between his eyeball and the resin, so I want to make it fit flush.

I'll try and find a sponge like that at the supermarket. I'll have to be really careful not to mess up his awesome faceup tho... just on the inside.

    20. That's not a bad idea, and what about white-ish putty?
