    1. I don't blame you at all. I was afraid to even ASK because I knew if they gave me the same answer they gave you - that I would really be pissed off. Mistakes happen and it's a bummer, but when people don't accept responsibility for those mistakes, I get really pissy about it. Don't try to tell me it was MY fault (like they did you...)...

      Anyway, I still am undecided about Oliver, but I doubt I will send him back. Then I REALLY won't bond with him. Either I'll sell him, or keep him and see what I can do myself about beefing up his coloring just a tad. I am happy otherwise with the faceup, it's not like I dont like the ENTIRE faceup, so...

    2. Sher (and other folks with faceup woes), I'm in the process of darkening my M's faceup (still gotta figure out what to do with his lips...), but so far it's been a pretty simple bit of work to get him looking more like I expected. (this coming from someone who is terrified of doing faceups!) Maybe making these little kinds of improvements will help you bond some?

      It's nice of Lati to offer a free faceup, in principle, though. ^^; I imagine my faceup request probably got lost the same way, since I made it via email and not with the order itself.

    3. I put mine in my order, in my paypal note, everywhere I could, lol... sigh. oh well.

      I have had some luck (I did this on my little petite ai, fred) mixing a very little bit of acrylic paint with gloss (or if you want, matte) sealer. If you use only a LITTLE paint, it goes on quite sheer, as in I can still see the chalk work beneath it, just bumped up the color a little. I'm thinking of trying that on my M, and adding a little blush. English boys often have nice pink cheeks. :)

    4. My K arrived. I didn't ask for anything custom because I adored the default makeup, it was perfect for Jess who's a brat blonde.

      He arrived and he has black eyebrows and reddish lips instead of soft blonde eyebrows and nude/beige lips T_T

My biggest question about these fellas is about their bodies. : 3 people who've gotten their Ms and Ks already, regardless of your overall pleasure (or lack thereof) regarding their head size and faceups... XD How do M and K's skin tones match-up with Volks skin tones? Are they comparable at all...? Do you think that an SD13 boy head would be able to fit on there rather nicely and look good??

      I'm wondering because the anatomy of their hands and torsos is really great in photos I've seen so-far, and maybe a body like that would be fitting to... 'man-up' a Volks boy, if you will? I may post a comparison photo request where it needs to be posted on this matter, but I was curious as to you guys' take on this matter and personal opinions as owners. : 3

    7. So far I've quickly tried my F28 head on the lati body. Lati is pinker and lighter than volks. CH looks yellow compared to lati as well. The F28 head is huge so it looks out of proportion to his skinny neck/shoulders/body. In height it's ok, but... it's hard to explain, but to me it doesn't look right. I hope to try my Anais head next as I think that might be more suitable. Sorry I didn't take pictures. My K is strung very tightly and I couldn't get the head to lock.

    11. Ooh.. now that's something I would have never thought of, neat! That would keep it nice and sheer, yeah.. hm XD I'm terrible with brushes so I used pastels and watercolor pencil for his eyebrows (yay for tracing!) and came up with this:

      I dusted his lips with pastel so you can still see the fine lines from the paint :3 It's a good temporary fix, at least.. Don't know if he'll stay that way..

      Actually if you wanted pinker lips all you have to do is smudge a bit of pastel with a brush on them and spray them with a coat of Testors or MSC and I think he will turn out great! I just took mine a step further.

    15. atrika: I used to be really nervous about it but I want to do my own face ups so bad and after seeing Avvelenato's dolls I'm determined to learn! I used to be arfraid also so I started doing little by little, I guess you sorta get over the fear, the dolls are pretty hearty :lol:

      My mum just requested that he be painted like the promotional pictures had him done up, and to make him look like Frodo. XD They said they would, and that's what we got. They did get a little sloppy under his lower lip though, so he kinda has that "Oops, I smeared my chapstick" look.      ​

    20. Just make sure that you post on the board and e-mail them being very specific about what you want, enclose as many pictures as you can. Then post again. They are very nice people but being nice is nothing when u don't get what you expect.
