THe sold outs are special editions. The basic editions are here
Lati does ordering periods. So they re-released them at the last ordering period (October 21st ~ November 5th). They tend to open every so many months for orders, until then it shows "preparing restock". The ordering period previous to the last (Oct/Nov) was in July.

If you want to buy you have to either keep an eye open on their website or watch the news thread here on DOA. Someone always posts when they open for orders. Or get one second hand... but either they are not that popular or people do not like letting them go.

I also think this might be the case. I ordered my boys when they stated that they were discontinuing the molds. Maybe they got rid of them and had to recast from a head since they weren't going to make them anymore? or something like that.
I'm just glad that they are making them available again.
Maybe the body I'll get will have a K head so I can have all three. snort

 

Twiggy your boy looks great. I agree that they changed the looks of their dolls, and they dont look as good as they did in their older pics, but I dont think its the actual doll that looks bad, more just the style they chose. They're putting some really light colored wigs on some of the boys (I noticed the in their blue line at least) which makes their faces look a little washed out, but with the right wig, and Im a big fan of the premium faceup, they'll still look gorgeous.

Thanks yalissa! That makes sense that they might have gotten rid of the old mold when they planned on discontinuing them, I'm just so glad they reconsidered!

 

so has anyone purchased a red yet?

 

I did in October, but I STILL havent gotten him yet. He should be shipped any day now though!

11 months ago I have bought on market DOA a head of Lati red M with custom Lati-make-up. Surprising coincidence: I have seen on Flikr a photo of one Lati red M with custom make-up, it was pleasant to me very strongly, and I have thought: it is so pity that I'll not have the same... And next day I look on market place - a miracle! on market is sell such head!)) it is final, I has bought it. I did not have all money, and 4000 roubles (about 130 dollars) I have borrowed at my friend, and still I have suddenly taken my student's grant though I should not have it...... О_О I believe that dolls are live, and my Valet has made all for arrive to me))
10 months ago, on March 14th, he has arrived. In the zodiac he is Fishes ^^
And about 6 months his head could not receive a body. I had money, but it was so pity - to buy a body but not a full doll... All time I bought a new doll for this money, then understood that it is not "my" doll, sold, bought another... Eventually this autumn I have bought in Moscow a body of Lati red from the girl who sold Lati red K.
Valet is full doll 2-3 months already. I am very glad, I very much love him. So is's history about he has collected himself)))

 

And Lati red M is my first bjd-love.
I have seen him first time at other girl on bjd-party in the spring of 2008, a head have bought in the winter of 2009... I was going to buy him even in the autumn '08, but Lati postponed the beginning of sales, and I was strongly nervous and have suddenly bought DM Kyle Reese) He became my first bjd-friend, I very much love him too.

 

Congrats Dr_lekter! Like you, I am just in love with the Lati red M (I am still waiting for mine to arrive)!

It is also a funny coincidence that the other owner's Lati you loved was being sold and you could get him! The same thing just happened to me sort of. There has been one particular Lati red M on DOA with a custom faceup that I have always admired and I wished I had one just like him, (he was the one that made me want the sculpt) and yesterday the owner said that they were thinking about selling him! However, I just ordered a Red M directly from Lati, so I cant get the other one.

but all the same - good luck for you! I believe that "your" doll will necessarily get to you.

 

I think that's how a lot of Latis are. You see them somewhere (usually with a "special" face-up) then find out that one goes for sale. I passed on a tan girl that I really wanted but ... trying to keep my gang to reasonable levels.

 

yalissa, I don't think that Lati's dolls are not necessary for buy only because are a lot of them.

 

I don't see many Lati basics for sale in the marketplace, but as they're not discontinued anymore, it shouldn't be a cause for worry.

 

Please tell me how you have thought up an image for your doll and as quickly you have embodied it!

I collect my Valet already very long... He should have smoothed dark hair and dark, almost black, eyes...

SchizoCheese, oh, and he's your boy? His name's Tae? It is very pleasant to get acquainted) I have his photos, he's such beautiful. But I didn't think that the guy from a photo 1 and the guy from a photo 2 - the same)) He has strongly changed his image.

Dr-Lekter and Schizocheese your boys look so nice! I feel like these lati boys can portray so many different moods and personalities just with the slightest changes.

Yep, I am in the same boat, geez I am bad... I just got a new doll and I am already thinking about their new ones! I can't help it though, Latis are just too pretty!

 

Has anyone measured their doll on their own? It says on the site that the red boys are 63 cm tall with a head circumference of 20.5 cm, but Alec seems much bigger than that! I have a Dollmore 62 cm boy and he only comes up to my red boys ears! My Dollmore doll is also supposed to have a head circumference of 22 cm (which is bigger than the red's measurements) but Alec's head seems to be larger then the Dollmore doll's.
