LatiDoll Yellow Discussion part 27

Here is my new Lati Yellow. I got her from The Doll Peddlar. I actually didn't intend to get a Lati Yellow. Ive always loved them but this time I was going for a Lati White. This is what happened: I bought Lati White Sp. full set Lolly Polly (Sol). She was a Lati White Sp body with a Lati Yellow head. When I recieved her, I had trouble making her stand and decided the head was just too big for the body, so it gave me a great excuse to make her into 2 different dolls (Love the rationalization we bjd collectors use!). Anyway, I bought a Lati Yellow #2 body for her. (and a Lati white head for the body and voila - 2 dolls!) Anyway, here she is and also a spoiler picture of what she looked like before.

That Yellow head on a White body sure is an odd combination. She looks much better with a Yellow body.

 

@spih I think so too. The Yellow/white combination was unbelievably unstable! If you notice, in the spoiler picture, she is laying down.

 

quick photo of event mia in pink. i cant even bother with my real camera anymore i love more more in this color than the new tan one.

 

@Dollquest, which Lati White head did you get?

@NineOneThree I got a Lati White Yui head for the Lati White Sp. It has an Ooak face-up. I really like the Lati Yellow Sol head though which is why I just had to get her a body!

@stelladolls I like the pink color. She's adorable!

 

There is the one event doll that you can only buy if you buy something else but on Doll Peddlar it looks like you can buy her on preorder without buying something else.

I sent her a message through the contact form since it was too late in the day to call, she answered right away and said that you will be able to buy the event doll through them without buying something else. Now I just have to decide if I want the long wait…

 

I keep contemplating the ones with the 2 piece bathing suits- so cute! I believe the one I like is Kona. It says something in the description about it being an event doll.

 

Kona is really cute. I like the event heads too because they aren’t typically overused sculpts.

 

Hi, I' sorry to suddenly jump in hope it's ok. Is any one having sealant problems with Lati dolls? And how did they resolve this?
I'm scarred right now.

 

I ordered a pink skin and it started to crack on the face after 1 yr of having her ( kept inside a dark cabinet, no direct sunlight) so contacted Lati, they told me i need to pay shipping and pay face up to get it fix. I never send to them cause too expensive, kind of very disappointed with them for this. I ordered alot of lati over the years and this is first time happen to one of my lati.

 

I have one whose face up has some tiny cracks, but it is not peeling. I don't know how long it took for the cracks to appear because they are very faint and can only be seen close up and only if the light falls from the right direction. They do not seem to be getting worse, so I have not done anything to fix it. I remember that at some point Lati had lots of problems with the peeling face ups. I think it may have something to do with weather conditions, maybe there has been too much moisture in the air when the face up has been sealed.

 

@chinadoll I'm so sorry to read this. This is exactly my story too. So disappointed in Lati and their customer service when we have bought so many dolls over the years. Don't know what to do yet. I sometimes feel sad and then other times get angry about how Lati threats their loyal collectors. It should not be like this.

@spih Oh yes thank you. That could be it. But then maybe Lati should warn people this could happen to your doll. I have Fairyland dolls too but nothing like this ever happened to them. I'm wondering why it is just with Lati dolls. Makes me feel sad and stop ordering from them. So sad.

 

Lati did warn about the peeling face ups at some time. They did add a small package of drying stuff (silica gel?) into the box and told people to keep the dolls in the box in a dry place. Someone said that the peeling started to happen when Lati changed the sealant. I don't want to keep my dolls in boxes, I want them to be on display so that I can see them every day. I have many Lati dolls and only one has problems with the sealant.

 

Does anyone have a picture of what the cracked sealant looks like?

 

I tried to take a picture, but the cracks are so faint that they won't show in a picture even if I tried to take a picture as close as possible.

I have other pink skin lati dolls ( Lovely My Kittens Hong Kong ver. and Little Angel Sweeties ver. Strawberry Cake ) and they don't have crack. My Lati Lime Happy Weekend that I bought pink skin in 2020 got the crack skin. Currently I am still buying lati bec. they are my fave tiny bjd company. I keep telling my self to stop buying and supporting but I still buy (ugh face palm myself). Currently I got some on layaway with Doll Peddlar. I am trying to slow down now bec. i am worried that it will have crack again. I am still very disappointed with lati service and cross finger that this will be the last crack skin i see on any of my lati dolls.

 

The cracks seem to be pretty random. I have two dolls from the Lati Master of Dragon release, Both are tan. The Flame Sprite (Miel) has those tiny cracks, but the Owl (Haru) does not. Obviously they were not made on the same day.
